Went to see Foreigner. This is a nice place for a concert. The seats are comfortable and we have lots of room. Ive been there several times for concerts and there's not a bad seat in the house. Acoustics are not the best but the convenience and seating are worth the sacrifice. They have parking right across the street and it's very reasonable. It was easy to get in and out. Make sure you try to find Rick Nielson from Cheap Trick seat. It is black and white checkered.

Truly the Jewel of Rockford, IL. The Coronado is host to the Rockford Symphony Orchestra, the Rockford Coronado Concert Association, and Broadway at the Coronado, as well as numerous other Bands and Performances throughout the year.

This Theater has had a very rich history over it's 90 years, and I would highly recommend a tour of the facility to learn about it, and get to enjoy the beautiful building.

The City of Rockford Illinois has a lot to be proud of with this building. Rockford citizens hold your head high.
Interior of this building is just unbelievably beautiful. An understatement.
My only regret is that I didn't bring my SLR Canon camera to get good quality pictures of this place.
I came from 3 hours north of here and if it wasn't for the show it was the art deco of the Interior that made our visit all that and then some.
Talking to some of the locals which exuded pride. They told me the building was originally built in 1927. And completely renovated just a couple of years ago at a price of around 17 million. A local bank was the biggest donor and it took donors see this through.
Now the show I came to see was Yamato drummers. It was a treat both me and my other half really enjoyed.
The only thing obscuring a beautiful perfect evening. While there for the show and a stay at the hotel we received a blizzard of about 8 to 10 in of snow.
Heck actually when I think more about it, that was just the icing on the cake😀

Love old theaters like this, we need to keep places like this alive. In today's technological driven I love to occasionally turn off the smart phone and take in a show or concert. I recommend going here, even if it's something you don't think you would be into, just do it for the experience!

Acoustically, terrific; comfort, horrendous. Attended Rockford Symphony's charming scoring of The Wizard of Oz. Seats were, alas, nosebleeds, and we didn't expect posh seating accommodations. Nonetheless, in an effort to squeeze as many sardines into the upper boxes, management has opted for seats that are, to put it mildly, confining. I'm a svelte 160 lbs., and I felt so restricted (a situation exacerbated by the not-so-svelte, and not-so-aware-of-the-concept-of-personal-space gentleman seated next to me who managed to seize control of the armrest and sort of ooze over in to my space), situational claustrophobia got the better of me, and I left at intermission.

Other than that, Mrs Lincoln, the performance was flawless (save the very occasional lapse by whomever was coordinating the volume of the movie with the orchestration that caused the former to be drowned out by the latter).

So, a disappointment in execution, but a musical delight. (I had never really noticed how "wall-to-wall" the score of the movie was until seeing the orchestra in action! They earned their per diem that night!)

As for the facility, it was my first visit (translated NYC native). The facility is a tad garish, though, in fairness, it was not uncommon for the time of its construction, and I was informed that recent renovations were intended to recreate that original venue. Acoustically, it was magnificent. Orchestrally, pitch perfect. The concert master (mistress?)/first violin is extremely talented. Unfortunately, the position of the movie screen combined with the altitude of our seats (i can't say for certain, but I believe there were cloud formations), left much of the orchestra hidden (i took it as an article of faith that all brass and woodwind performances weren't recorded).

Beautiful theater. Parking was right across the street and very easy and safe. Well worth the ten dollar parking fee. Show was great.

Beautiful venue, restored to a bygone era. Hardly a bad seat in the place. Drinks are quite expensive and if you want to take them into the show, you have to buy a special sippy cup. Symphony orchestra is great. All in all a nice experience that we take advantage of at least a few times a year

It's a great historic location. It can often get very cold when they turn on the air-conditioning. And some of their events aren't exactly appropriate for a historic Amphitheater. Definitely worth checking out if you're not familiar with Rockford

Not a bad seat in the house! Whether it's one of my kid's school performances, a musical, or a concert, it's Always a great time! Just left Brit Floyd. Amazing. My first concert at age 7 - Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, was here @ Coronado theater. Love this place!

Great old theater. Very ornate. The ushers made it easy to find your seat. The seating was very nice and comfortable. Parking was easy. I would definitely go to The Coranado again for an event.

This is a beautifully restored old theatre with quite a history in Rockford. Although the performances that come through here these days are limited, perhaps due to the size of the venue, there have been some exciting acts booked here in the past few years.
The Rockford Symphony Orchestra performs here regularly during the season and a visit always adds charm and elegance to an evening out on the town.
