Very convenient location. Pricing is very good. Old but functional and clean. They are currently renovating. Service is friendly and excellent.

If anyone is looking for a great deal on hotels you can check it out on HotelRaven. com Booked a room on there and they had the best rates around

This is an older hotel that has been there a very long time and the building sort of shows its advanced age. That does not mean it is not comfortable though. The rooms are a little small but they do have king sized beds and the couple of rooms I had stayed in also had a table with two chairs. Each room also has its own full bathroom and while the building is obviously old, I found my room and bathroom to be clean. The real highlight of this hotel is their center courtyard though. The courtyard is entirely enclosed by the hotel itself and there is a large pool and jacuzzi and plenty of room to sit out in the wonderful California sun. The pool was clean but not heated although I was there during summer months and it did not require heating. I did not go in the jacuzzi but I heard a few people say that they wish it was slightly hotter. For the money though, this place was worth the what they charge per night. When you compare it to other hotels in the area, it is a good deal. The location is good as well. The hotel is located on Western ave about 200 yards north of Hollywood Blvd. There is a blue line subway station at Hollywood and Western which makes getting around the L.A. area pretty easy (Universal Studios is a short 10 minute subway ride away without having to transfer to a different subway line). There is also a large grocery store , bank with ATM, Starbucks and assorted restaurants congregated right around the Hollywood and Western intersection. As long as you are not expecting luxury and don't want to pay luxury prices, you should be comfortable here.

This is a low priced motel in a great area of Los Angeles. There's a pool and a hot tub (that never gets that hot). The rooms are big enough. The staff is friendly. And there's even laundry facilities and a microwave to use! This is a great place to stay in L.A.

Coral Sands Motel is a nice motel for staying for a short period of time. The rooms have everything they need, there's a pool and a jacuzzi. The motel is located right near Sunset boulevard and Hollywood boulevard, so you can see nice things within walking distance. The only thing I missed in the room is something to hang your towel on. Overall a great accomodation!

Nice little motel. Great price and great location! Nothing could beat the price. The front staff is very nice and the rooms are small but nice. What I thought was very nice was the community room with the microwaves. They have a shelf full of basic foods and sides such as mustard, mayo, soups, spices, seasonings etc. If you ever need something you can grab it. Will be staying again when I need to go to universal studios or Hollywood!

Very nice, reasonable motel for the location. It's a short uber ride to many interesting bars, or a nice walk. The pool and hot tub were very nice and clean and the flowers were pretty. Very friendly and helpful guy at the front counter. Room is kinda small but 2 queen beds do take up a lot of space. Everything seemed clean enough and overall very pleasant experience.

We stayed because of it's good reviews. We loved the excellent staff, the hot showers, nice room and convenient location (food ,grocery store, Mts and in walking distance to a lot). I didn't know how to work the jacuzzi and the staff had it set up when I got back with lanterns and all. My room was cleaned and decaf coffee was left since that is my preference. We are returning in 4 days and they accommodated our reservation changes twice! It's less expensive than most and quality service. Thanks everyone!

It is an older motel, however has a hostel feel. If you are staying for a night or two it does it's job. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially in helping us get around the area. They let us borrow 2 passes for the metro and leave our car parked until we got back from Universal on our last day. We were planning to drive and pay to park, but this helped us save some money. Great location to downtown Hollywood and Universal. The metro is right across the street. We would stay here again.

This is a great place! Prime location and rooms usually for under $100 a night. The courtyard is well maintained and gives the whole place a cozy feeling. I definitely recommend this place, although not if you are looking for big rooms.

There are plenty of shops around and a Metro rail line down the block to help you get around.

Walk of Fame is short walk down Hollywood Blvd with all the tourist stuff.

The Coral Sands hotel might be a kind of relic from old Hollywood as other reviewers have said, but the rooms are clean, the showers are powerful, the beds are decent and the staff are quite good and helpful with the few requests I've made so far. The only drawback is that the rooms are a little small, power outlets can be scarce (especially in the double bed rooms) and the parking is a tight U around the building. But for $80 a night on the edge of Hollywood, ten minutes from pretty much everything, you probably can't beat it.
