1 MAJOR TIP FOR BOOKING A HOTEL DURING A CITYWIDE EVENT Knowledge is power—and that’s especially true when you’re planning a vacation. Pre-vacation research should include whats happening in the area of the place you want to go to at the time you are thinking of going. When there are #CityWideEvents like #SuperBowl, #UltraMusicFest or #Conventions that means lots of people, heavy traffic on the roads and in the airport and high hotel room rates. If you must come during those times book as far out as you can because as you get closer to the date there are less rooms and the rate will be higher than if you booked further out. Starting this process as soon as possible improves your odds of getting the best deals possible. #AirportHotel #CruisePortHotel #FreeAirportShuttle #FreeBreakfast #FreeWifi #HotelAccommodations #MIA #POM #PortOfMiami

Continue ReadingThe stay was all good for the 5 days till I requested to change my credit card to another for payment if there was no problem which they assured there will not be. But somehow a double charge happened on the first card instead of a refund. And another 570USD was charged on my 2nd card.
I knew about the double charge so I inquired at the front desk midway thru my stay but they say refunds will show up in two weeks. And when I checked out at 4am on the last day, the receptionist was no where to be found. I had to go outside where he was smoking and he even had the audacity to ask me to wait while he finishes.
When he finally finishes, he told me he cannot print me the final receipt as the system was in the midst of switching to a new day?! Told me to email for one instead.
2 weeks went by and I emailed them directly 3 times and not a single reply. Not even an automated one. I have since sent an email directly to the main comfort contact and till now no reply, I have no choice but to rant my grievance here.
I have also booked my room directly thru Comfort and not via any third party.
All in all the hotel was nice and updated, but make sure you don't have any issues at night because the night time staff is pretty helpless. We had an issue with our toilet over flowing and they could not seem to find a plunger, the front desk attendant acted like she did not know what to do when we let her know our problem, went down to tell them about our problem and 30 minutes later we had to call again to find out what was taking so long. She informed us that they did not have a plunger, or that it was locked up. She called us back to tell us that she could not do anything for us after another 30 minutes, to which I went down to the front desk to request another room or whatever else she could do. She informed me that she was waiting another 30 minutes to call her manager. Told us if we needed to use the bathroom to come down the elevator and use the lobby restroom. By this time it was already going on 2:30, almost 2 hours after we first let her know of the problem. She told us that their sister hotel next door did not have a plunger either. My husband ended up having to unfortunately unclog it himself without a plunger. He went down stairs to tell them he fixed it and witnessed the security guard walking back from the sister hotel next door with a plunger, 2 hours after they had told us they did not have one. Very inconvenient for a family of four with a child. If you pay $300 for a room you should not have to go down an elevator to the lobby to use the restaurant in a 4 star hotel. Last time I checked, it was not a hostel!
This hotel went to the Comcast cable customer service school, called us and said they were going to give away our rooms if we didn’t show up ASAP. Showed up and hour before check in and we’re told that the rooms are not ready, long story short we are checking in over an hour a half late. When asked if there would be any compensation for for the inconvenience we were told “sorry no”. Next time we will look for a place where they have their act together.
Most of the hotel staff are friendly. One or two need some customer service training. Very clean facility with a continental breakfast of many options. Slightly annoying that there are restaurant fliers thrown in the floor and under the door constantly. Shuttle service to and from the airport and cruise was very helpful (free except for $10 to be picked up from cruise port). The elevators are hidden with no signage (a little confusing until you get accustomed). Overall, a very good hotel choice if you're looking to stay near the airport.
Words can't express how sweet these ladies are here. Front desk staff is so helpful and kind. And WOW Anita their newly added manager is spot on! She seen us come across the lot with baggage and she literally helped carry our bags to our room. Offered to make sure that I found the right buses around n to the beach if wanted to go. This company found a gem with her! Thank you for making sure everything is just perfect!
We got off our cruise at 10 and knew we would have to wait till around 3 for our room. Other people on the cruise with us was getting called for their room before three. When we asked about our room they kept telling us it was going to be pushed back to 6pm. Front desk people were very rude on top of this and they already had charged our card. So, we left, Never again.
We made an honest mistake and booked the wrong hotel airport, so they would not give us our money back so we could get to the right airport hotel. Although, the hotel itself is nice. Big rooms, comfortable cool rooms, nice pool.
Great price and free airport and cruise port shuttles. Free breakfast.
The staff for this hotel is very rude and unprofessional. Trying to talk to a manager about I had to call 9 times. Everytime with the exception of the last time they just hung up on me. People save yourself the headache and your money. With so many other hotels out there you would think there staff would have better customer service then that.
Extremely clean rooms. Fabulous breakfast area. Extremely helpful staff. Will answer any question you have, help with fast food menus, even make suggestions on the best menu!! Easy to get to from the Airport. Free shuttle from/to Airport and/or to Port of Miami. Would definitely stay here again!!
The night / day staff here have no communication. I Called ahead at 9:30AM to confirm a potential concern was avoided and was told it was taken care of. Arrived at the airport at 11 pm only to find out it wasn't. When I called to confront the staff I was placed on hold for 15 minutes, I hung up the phone at that point and called back to the hotel only to be hung up on by Joel.
Joel at night was not only rude, he was a pompous a***ole. Then when I finally arrived to the hotel to confront him he hide in the back like a coward. Come on out and face the guy you had the nerve to hang up on Joel. This employee should be fired, no customer service at all.
Hotel was clearly under staffed, had 9 guests all checking in at one time close to midnight.
As a diamond member with over 75 stays this year at choice hotels I would not recommend this hotel. This was the worst start to my vacation and some simple customer service could have made it easily avoided.
Great hotel, very comfy bed, big room. Tastefully decorated with a good breakfast in the morning. Would definitely stay here again. My husband said this is his favorite place to stay so far and wanted to know where he could get the mattress!
Great choice if you going on a cruise 🚢 shuttles to both airport and ports and reasonable prices!!
2nd time staying pre cruise and post cruise. George the cruise coordinator for group Sales is my guy.. worth the money no lie. Just left the this morning. My sister left her ring on the night stand and they are mailing it to her. Nice hotel
I love this place very clean rooms close to everything will be straying here in the future love this place
Horror!! Damp and wet room! Wet carpet with a lot of red stains! No Service with no solution proposal! At the end it was a horrible night.
I Will Never book this Hotel again!
Hotel Name: comfort Suites tamarac
Room: 222
Stayed here the night before the cruise with family and had a great stay. Nice hotel, very clean rooms and big, staff at the front desk was great and the employee's working the breakfast were nice and let us eat an hour before it opened. Five Stars.
It was o.k., but would stay somewhere else. No breakfast, just a very limited selection from a very small, deli style area, and expensive too.
Comfort Suites
We arrived about 5:30 PM on Tuesday. We had taken a shuttle from Ft Lauderdale. Coming up, there are 2 run down motels, and I was worried. But then this one was kinda hiding in back, and looked a lot nicer.
They have a couple do it yourself bell hop carts, which was convenient. The girl at the front desk wasn't exactly friendly. No smiles, hardly looked up. She kinda looked like she didn't want to be there. Gave answers like uh huh. At least check in was quick. My husband went down to set up a tour, and she seemed annoyed. (Turns out she's a supervisor. YIKES!!!)
So they charged the 1st night on the card we held the room with. Which we did not know. We used a different card to pay, but they won't release the 189 from the first card, until we leave. Then it takes several days to come off. This is NOT a good practice. It's not right. But what can you do?
The area the motel is in, isn't ideal. It looks like a rougher part of town. There are no views. (We are on floor 5, 512 and see the parking lot) There is also an airport across the street, but you can barely hear them from the room. The windows don't open. There isn't a whole lot around to eat at, within walking distance.
The lobby is really nice. Clean. Cute. We had, I guess a mini suite. Room is very nice. There is a bathroom, with A hair dryer. It's a good size. The T.P. is in a weird spot, you have to twist to get it. There is a kitchenette with a microwave, fridge, coffee maker ( with coffee) and sink, and table with 2 chairs.
The living room has a desk, TV, couch, and chair. The couch is not comfortable. Then there is a seperate bedroom. It has a window, king bed, t.v., dresser, chair, and 2 side tables. The room is very nice. We like it. The lamps all have plug ins for your wall chargers, but no usb port.
Our first night, we got a wake up call at 3:30 AM. We did not set that up, so it was super annoying. We could not go back to sleep after that. When I had pulled the blanket back, there was a black curly q hair on the sheet. EW!
There is a laundry room. But it's crazy expensive. 2 dollars to use the dryer. We just needed it for 10 minutes. I guess you pay a convenience fee. haha
Breakfast is decent. Eggs, sausage, you can make waffles, muffins, danishes, cereal, bagels, bread, English muffins, fruit, Coffee, even Hazelnut and French Vanilla Cream. Oatmeal, juices, milk. It's like cafeteria food. Plentiful, but bland.
Bed is pretty comfortable. We slept well. The shower pressure isn't great, but not awful. One remote didn't work, but they work on both, so we just took it back and forth.
Everyone we encountered (except the first, supervisor) was nice. We told the morning shift about the wakeup call, and they were apologetic.
There is a bar in the lobby, that serves bar food. We didn't go in. They sell snacks and drinks in the lobby, but on the expensive side. You pay for convince.
Second night, and guess what? Yep! We got ANOTHER wake up call at 3:30 AM. Even though we asked them to make sure it didn't happen again. Unbelievable!!!! We will never stay here again! The girl at front actually argued with us about it, and insisted she turned if off. OBVIOUSLY she didn't.
We asked for a late check out, since the shuttle won't go to the port until 11:45. We were told to remind them that day. Really? You don't have a list, or notes in the computer? Hmmm.
When we checked out, there was a 4 dollar charge for the safe. We did not use the safe. They said it's automatic. Ya, um, No! They took it off. Most people probably don't notice. Check your receipt!!
We got to the hotel around 11 AM and were told our room wasn't ready. We were told we would be called. We waited until 3 PM. I noticed people who came in after us were getting rooms. My wife said something and we had a room in 5 minutes. The hotel was dirty. I don't think we would stay again. Shuttle service was ok.
