Although the room decor could use some updating in furnishings, the accommodations were excellent. The room was very clean and bed inviting. There is a big tv on the wall and a guide that offered just about every channel. There was s refrigerator and microwave in the room and a jetted tub. I made a simple request for an extra suitcase holder before we left for the day and it was there when we returned. We also had s problem with the air conditioning at one point. A very pleasant maintenance guy came shortly and fixed it !! The customer service at this hotel is outstanding and I would recommend it to anyone, families, couples or singles. They also have a breakfast that’s hard to beat

It was what I expected considering the price point. The hotel staff were pleasant and steadily tending to their tasks at hand. The beach would have been enjoyable had the weather cooperated. We stopped on the last day of our camping trip to basically sleep and do some shopping in the city. For our purposes it was fine. The pool and hot tub were refreshing and the breakfast was average but filled the hole. I couldn't see us spending double or triple the rate that most other places were charging. This was also not the lowest rate out there but we wanted to have breakfast for the 4 of us and for $20 more than the lowest rate it sufficed. The room was a bit outdated but the bathroom looked to have been updated.

Service from management staff and owner was a complete joke! Power went out at 9pm and wasn’t estimated to return until 5:45am the next morning, management said no refunds (on the most expensive night of the week) even though we have medical devices that are necessary, meaning they were willfully putting us and others in the hotel in danger. No emergency lights or anything. This place is a joke, save yourself the time and hassle, stay somewhere else like St. Ignace, or elsewhere considering most hotels on the strip in Mackinaw are owned by the same person.

The hotel rooms were not very clean. Understanding that there was a lot of snow in the upper Peninsula of Michigan is no excuse for the carpets to still have moldy black stains in excess of snow when ice and eventual salt that finds its way in there. The room rate for the Fourth of July weekend was well over $200 per night. The curtains in our room. looks like 10 people on the outside had a knife fight with 10 people on the inside. Overall the hotel was just OK, air-conditioning is not adequate for that size of the room. Needs improvement. WiFi was pretty much non existent.

The property was in awful shape, building was filthy, weeds everywhere and pool was a disgrace. Lost power at hotel and spoke with manger and he was absolutely rude! Was not even dressed like a manger! Told us we needed to contact consumers for a refund? He should not be a manger or in charge of any business. Will never get my business again!

This place is a joke! Rooms smelled musty the shower curtain rod was pulled out of the wall, the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling and there was mold under it!! The pool was dirty and very cloudy! Had 2 phones in our suite and neither one worked. Management is piss poor. Will never stay here again!

Hotel management is terrible. Room was dirty, moldy ceilings, stained sheets, and many cobwebs. Hotel lost power and we chose not to stay after our card had previously been charged upon checking. Manager refuses to refund - the bank will cancel charges then they will get nothing. Poor excuse for a hotel in general and even worse management staff.

We had a very nice king size room on the courtyard side. The room was clean but a bit outdated. Cleaning ladies were very nice but front desk staff were not very friendly, they almost acted like you were bothering them. The room was very hot when we arrived and we had to open windows to cool the room off. Breakfast was ok. They run out of food fast but did make plenty more. Overall it's a hotel with a cheap price, cant except royalty service. We did enjoy our stay and would stay again for the price.

Well we are finally home after a long week but today was the longest part ever. We left mackinaw around 11:30 after breakfast we got all the way to grayling (80-ish miles away) and realized our i pad was missing. Called the hotel after dumping all of our luggage in a gas station making sure we didn’t have it burried somewhere. Hotel manager at the Clarion says our room hasn’t been cleaned yet and they will call us if they find it. We called back again asking if someone could just go look and see if it was where we thought it was. Ok sure.. nope can’t find it. So we tell them we are turning around and coming back to look ourselves. We are not so polite as we continue on in conversation as over the past 4 years or so we have forgot a baby bed rail, a phone charger and prescription glasses there and have never gotten a call about any of it. The manager goes on to tell us that “once we leave our room its no longer ours and maybe we should keep better track of our stuff”. She also asked me why we keep coming back there then.. good question? as we were leaving today before this happened I told My husband I never wanted to stay there again. I told that horrible manager that also. We did end up getting our ipad back we found it propped up behind a storage chest next to the fridge and microwave. Somewhere we are certain the kids didn’t put it nor did anyone drop it there hmmm makes me wonder if it was planted there

We loved our stay. We went for our anniversary and was surprised with a nice towel swan arrangement with small flowers scattered around. Hot tub in the room was large and perfect to relax in.

We stay here every year. Me and my family come spend a week every year, for the past 3 years. Well her for over 30 years. This year on this week as a matter of fact was going to be our 4th trip. However we had tragedy happen. The day before us leaving our son had a horrible accident. We called and explained the situation and they agreed not to charge us for our week because of our issue. He did end up having a skull fracture. Although we are unsure of the cost of all this yet and our financial future. We are still hoping to make our trip this year at the end of August. I hope our son will be cleared to go. I want to just say thank you for understanding our situation. And we really hope to be able to come spend a week there at the end of August. We love staying with your hotel every year your compassion was amazing again thank you for all you did. Hoping to be there with you before kids go back to school to celebrate our family and that they are safe and ok now

First time I stay in a Clarion. Room smell, room was not clean that good, they forgot to put Kleenex and forgot to clean refrigerator too. I found an ice cream cone in freezer and I have to throw away and clean refrigerator. They need to update the rooms as well all the choice hotel around the area. I don't think I will stay there again. I only recommended if you are going only for 1 day stay. I suppose to have ocean view and I got standard room. Breakfast was good, that was a plus. Service desk was friendly and location was 2 minutes walk to ferry.

I would give no stars if I could.. we stayed at a different hotel the previous night. We arrived at clarion at 5:30ish to check into our reservation. We were then given the keys to our room. Once we arrived in the room, we noticed things here and there that were dirty and not really taken care of, but we had to leave as we had reservations at 6. With the hotel being rated a 3.5 star, we didn't think we would need to worry about too much with our room as they had all day to clean it. Once we arrived back to our room at 10:30pm, worn completely out, we started getting around for bed. I then pulled back the sheets to the bed to find hair, a bug, and stains on my sheets. I called front desk 5 times and no one answered!! I then walked down to the main office where there was no one to greet me. I stood there for a few minutes when a young lady came out. I asked her if we could have our sheets changed in our room. She stated house keeping was gone for the night but she could give us clean sheets to change ourselves. We figured, better than nothing boy was I wrong!!! We got back to our room and started stripping the bed down to change the sheets to find more and more stains!!! Not to mention the sheets were torn!!! Our room was a complete disaster!! There was a dead bug on the sink, the walls were filthy!!! The lock on the door was busted off, the list goes on and on and on. After calling about 15 different other hotels, we found a much nicer one down the road for the same price!!! We took our keys back immediately to a 'Mike' where he stated we would need to come back at 9 and speak to manager Zach. We will be there at 8:45! Never would I recommend this hotel to ANYONE!!!

Worst trip ever! We have been coming for years and staying here. We had stained sheets, black mold in the bathroom, no wifi, the cable was out most of the trip and the manager was not helpful. The beach was also poorly kept.When we brought these things to his attention he passed the blame to the laundry people, the maintenance people or just said nothing. Not even an"I'm sorry". Super disappointed and we sadly will be staying elsewhere next time. A broken family tradition. Kudos to Chris the maintenance man who helped us out the best he could.

Haven't even slept here and am unhappy. My granddaughter had an accident on the bed and we called for clean dry sheets. We had to strip own bed and take them to the front desk. Once there we were given sheets to remake the bed ourself. The sheets were then and stainless ed and we were forced to use the extra blanket that was already in the room. Thin, stained and had holes in it, one was good size. Not a good way for a service industry business to do their job. Won't be back, not at this price.

Please save yourselves the headache and money-choose another hotel that is clean, updated, and with working showers & plumbing. All of the things this one was not. We will be contacting upper management regarding the way in which we were treated when we told the "manager" about the plumbing issues and asked for a discount. I. An not put into words the absolute disgraceful way we were treated. Just do yourself a favor & move on to the next hotel. This one was awful.

One of the filthiest places I've ever stayed. We found a dirty washcloth hanging from the shower curtain upon arrival to our room and the bathroom mirror looked like someone smeared a white film over it and it had not been cleaned. The room was musty smelling granted it is next to the beach.

Our 3 night stay in this hotel was great! Our view of the lake was beautiful every morning! The room was clean, huge and breakfast was really good! The pool was heated and the staff was extra friendly. Great location to the Star line ferry. You get 10% off on restaurants by showing your hotel key. We enjoyed our stay and would go back!
