I come from a family of siblings who all have at least 1 or more Subarus. My first Subaru was an outstanding Outback, 2008, a total gem of a car. Since 2008, I've had a 2014 Outback, a 2010 Legacy (total HOT ROD!), and along with the Legacy, currently own a 2018 Outback. Buying these cars has introduced me to the finest people I have ever known that aren't relatives. Colonial Subaru not only has outstanding automobiles but the best staff of any business I have ever dealt with. All the folks at Colonial including all the mechanics, treat customers like family and take totally excellent care of our automotive needs. It has been my delight to drive up to Kingston from Poughkeepsie to have Colonial's excellent service department take care of all my vehicles. Subaru is an exceptional automotive manufacturer and this dealership, Colonial, has no equal anywhere. Everyone there, and I do mean everyone, is charming and friendly and will go completely out of their way to be helpful. If you are considering buying a car, new or used, it would be worth a ride from anywhere to visit Colonial. Love my cars, and totally love this outstanding dealership.

I for the longest time had wanted to worn a Subaru. Well in 2009 that purchase happened. It is 2017, almost 2018 and I am still in my beautiful Outback. It has been a dream to drive and I never looked back in disappointment. Each day is like the first day. But, it is not only the auto that is fantastic, all the staff, mechanics and office people are kind, friendly, understanding and caring. When I go in for service, I am met with people who are like family and good friends. They not only care about keeping your car safe, but they care about you and what is happening in your life and offer an ear, a kind word and/or encouragement. Ellen, Buddy and all of the rest of the staff make it a pleasure to get a repair or service. You'll always be greeted with a smile and "it's great to see you" and sometimes even a hug. It is truly a wonderful establishment and Kingston is lucky to have them there. Thank you all and blessings to you all in the new year!!!

Customer service is friendly and helpful. You feel like you're in good hands and that they care about the customer experience. Waiting room with wifi, coffee and tea.

My 2012 Outback had a transmission problem in Sept 2017. The car had over 130,000 miles. Subaru completely covered it under the warranty and the Service Dept at Colonial did a fantastic job of handling the substantial repairs, providing a rental vehicle, and communicating with us. I am a Colonial Subaru fan for life!

Buy here. Service elsewhere! They will swindle you at every opportunity.
If you take your car here for service, make sure you know your car. They will sell you brake pads when they are just halfway through their lifespan. They will charge you double for parts and triple for labor as other local and better mechanics.
I have many experiences here, including buying our car ,and won't go back for any service, it's too risky.response / report this review -

We bought our first Subaru and our salesman Scott Denny was fantastic. Dealing with their service department, Ellen Yerry, has been fantastic. Recently, adding a new Subaru and having salesman David Smith help us was fantastic. Five stars for Colonial Subaru.

Colonial Subaru service has been great for me over the years. They find exactly what is wrong and fix it promptly. Everything is carefully explained in detail. Prices are the same or less than other mechanics. The friendly, courteous staff feels almost like family.

I came to Colonial looking to trade in my car for something with 4-wheel drive that was also affordable. When I left, I was blown away by how helpful my salesman, Phil Formica, was! He was kind, helpful, and was able to find exactly what I was looking for and in my price range! I will definitely be returning for future car purchases!

Our family purchased out first Subaru through Phil Formica. He took the time to help us find exactly what we wanted within our price range. Phil was very helpful and always available for any questions or concerns. He made the car buying experience stress free and we would gladly go back to Phil to purchase another vehicle.

I bought my first car from Phil Formica when I was 18 year old. An awesome sporty model. After that the types of cars changed, but the friendly, helpful service never changed. Now I am 50 and my latest purchase was a Subaru Legacy. Great cars and great service. Phil, thanks for making car buying easy!

Phil Formica and the service crew at Colonial have always been top-notch and a pleasure to work with. This is my 4th Subaru that I've gotten there and Phil has always been my go-to salesman. He's extremely helpful in making sure that I've gotten what I wanted and also was there if I had any additional questions that I had. I would go nowhere else to purchase a vehicle.
