Really solid burgers. Buns and fries are star of the show; not heavy sweet buns, but light, soft, and still substantial enough to hold the burger together. Poppy seeds optional. Fries are fresh-cut and blanched well, so they're neither starchy, hard, or limp. Pretty good balance of crisp and soft textures, and mine weren't overly salted or bland.
Patties were thin, fast-food style fresh (not frozen, according to them) ground beef, which worked pretty well on a double cheeseburger. Had a whole slice of onion and the tomatoes weren't those hard, unripened white slices you get at a lot of shops.
Their pepper sauce, "Saddle Burner," was pretty good, but tricky; it starts to build up after a few bites (used it on my fries), then fades for a little bit, before the Ghost Pepper comes back in a wave. It took so long that I thought the kitchen had put something on my burger as punishment for coming in 20 minutes before close. Nope. Just a mix of fast and slow-burn capsaicin peppers. It had a tart sweetness to it, I bought two bottles of it at $5/ea to take home.
It wasn't too cheap, and I kind of expected larger patties for the price, but it's downtown so I didn't expect anything to be cheap.
It was a super busy weekend, so understand the wait. We were told it would be a 45 min wait for 4. They sat several parties bigger and smaller than ours. After an hour wait, we were seated. Good didn't take to long but was cold when we got it. Buns soggy and no taste. Was very disappointed in quality. Does not compare to ones in Dallas.
My experience was nice but know that I see multiple pictures of the confederate flag on your website. It now makes it unattractive. If your business is for everyone why promote hatred
Had breakfast this weekend with my son at Jake's on Main after riding our bikes to Sundance Square. It was pretty busy for breakfast w/ the football crowd, but the food was good and the service (we had Lauren) was great! We will definitely do it again.
The burger was mediocre at best. A side of fries costs extra and the burger alone will run you around $10. I ordered to go and the waitress took about 10 minutes to bring me my change. By the time I got to my food it was cold. 5 Guys down the street is a better option.
Apparently, Jake's chicken tinder salads come with burned chicken, rotting lettuce, and the end of a head of head of lettuce! Horrible! Complete waste! That's the last time recommend this place to any co-workers!
Had the Turkey Burger, which was amazing! Even the sweet potatoe fries were mouth watering-warning covered in brown sugar and has icing dipping sauce. 3Stars, because the service wasn't all that great. Drinks came late-after food was already there for awhile, and the waitresses was nowhere to be found most of the time-she was texting in the ladies room. Overall, awesome food!!!
Great place. Kayla was very nice and attentive. The manager was walking around making sure everyone is taken care of. The food is great, it is a must place to visit. It is just a few steps away from sundace square. Worth trying, i will come back more often !
I was seated as soon as I came in and greeted by a very nice server. My drink and food arrived very quickly after I ordered. The Hot Cowboy burger I had was quite spicy. Even though I was dining alone the server was quick to notice I needed a refill of my team. The only bad thing about the experience was that the menu prices on Google are old and my bill was several dollars than I had planned. Go to the website for Jake's to find the current prices.
Nope. Burger meat has a chemical taste, tomatoes went bad sometime last week, and service was slow chicken fried steak was at least edible. I can see the bar portion being a hit, but we came here for dinner and should have had McDonald's
Good food. Good bartenders. Wait staff is slow and will cater to certain tables over others.
First and last time here. I had the red steer and it was dry. I asked for more of the "favorite sauce" and it didn't help. I asked for grilled onions and they were the best part. I would eat a fast food burger over this any day. I will say the server was nice.
Honestly, I read other reviews before coming here and I was worried I was heading into a terrible place. But truth be told I had an amazing experience here and can't say anything negative. My waitress was great and very attentive constantly checking on me making sure i was doing good. The food came out hot. I ordered the breakfast tacos and although they are nothing to write home about and there are far better ones out there, they were still good. I'd recommend this place to anyone visiting.
I would suggest spending the 3-4 dollars more per burger and taking your business to one of the numerous other gourmet burger places in Ft.Worth. We came in here expecting a good experience seeing how we are in Downtown Ft Worth, but to our dismay it was a Basic experience at best in an ok atmosphere. The food was nothing special. A pretty boring burger that was overly greasy. The waitresses were pretty inattentive, actually they were more content with sitting a table just to the left of us eating chips and having their own conversation, dancing and talking amongst themselves like they were not even at work. The best part of the whole experience was an older gentleman (I'm assuming the bus boy) who was actually working (hard at that) and making sure tables were clean and in a neat manner. I would not come here again
