The staff here are really nice and helpful. I went for dinner with two elderly friends and they made the experience of getting two mobility-impaired individuals in and out of their restaurant very easy.
Good food and plenty of it. Good drinks and dessert choices. Parking is onsite.
Excellent staff, great food and the best salsa any where. We’ve been enjoying their food for over 20 years and still enjoy going there every week.
Great Mexican Food around. They catered the menu to accommodate what we wanted. The server explained all the dishes in detail and made sure we got exactly what we needed. The service was fast and food was delicious. Has great vegetarian options.
Food was very bland. It was not bad. Just not very good will not be going back. A little salt and pepper goes a long way.
I'm not sure how this place remains open. No variety of margaritas like most Mexican restaurants. They are clearly using a premixed margarita blend. They charge extra after the first SMALL basket of chips. The guacamole taste like store bought guacamole and the service was substandard. They waitress never came to check back on me and I had to walk to the counter to cash out because she never even brought the check. I never leave bad reviews but don't want anyone to waste their money or time even walking into this place. They're in need of new management and a new chef. AWFUL!!!!!!
The food is pretty good, but the prices$14 for 2 frilled fish tacosthen when you request extra chips$1 additionalnext it'll be more money if you want a refill on your tea or water
This is a family restaurant serving Mexican styled food with a local taste. I have been patronizing this restaurant for over 6 years. The food quality and quality of service are excellent.
I would give less than one star of available. The food was terrible. Three of us ordered burritos and tacos. The burritos had boiled unseasoned chicken and lettuce wrapped in a hot burrito (gag). You are charged extra for sauce to go on top which we didn't ordered thinking it would at least come with cheese or something but nothing. The taco (gag again) was nothing but a soggy unseasoned ground beef mess. Nothing was seasoned AT ALL! Didn't even resemble Mexican food in taste ! Way over priced
Then my husband and son were in the bathroom when the chef came in pulled is apron over to the side urinated and walked out!!! NO HANDS WASHED! I wanted to PUKE !
My little one and I went to the ladies restroom after using it the toilet wouldn't flush so I informed the management and the response rudley was that "he already knew"!!? Then why the heck wasn't there an out of order sign ! Well the only good is that our waitress Robin was fabulous !!! Sweetest lady ever !
We've been living here 2 1/2 years and this is the only place we go for Mexican. We go so much, the servers actually recognize us. Service is always wonderful, the chips and salsa are amazing. Definitely get a side of guacamole to go with them! Their food, if not 100% authentic, is delicious every time. We're due to leave KW in a few months and we will sure miss this place!
P.S. The other reviews about "high prices" are laughable as all the restaurants in Key West are much more expensive than you'd find elsewhere.
Beautifully decorated. Prompt service. Chips and salsa were homemade and delicious. Friendly wait staff. Option to sit outside or inside. Steak taco tasted spectacular
Horrible food. The taco salad was nasty with an overpowering taste of garlic. The burrito and the tacos are nasty as well. The meat tastes old and out of a package. They overprice their food. Definitely will not come here again.
It was aweful. Ordered Side of Guacamole (save $3 of 6 and buy the one at supermarket - Wholly Guacamole it's the same), Relleno was fried in old oil and microwaved to cook it and, Relleno peppers were fried with stem so dig out first, beans are the same as LaPreferita and rice mushy (mexican rice is a bit harder, sautéed before boiled), suppose to have side of guacamole and Pico de Gallo (none of that stuff was included). And last, I up charged for steak burrito, from $7 to $13.50. Asked if I wanted lettuce, tomato, cheese, and sour cream, no sour cream and for what I got, could have paid Taco Bell for burrito and got the same thing for less.
So, spent $53 on this crap that Taco Bell sells for under $20lesson learned.
I feel it is the best Mexican restaurant in Key West. I've eaten there many times and never been disappointed in the food, atmosphere, or the people that work there. It's a very comfortable surrounding . A must try for anyone in the Keys West area ! !
Good grub. Nothing fancy. Reasonable price.
Highly recommended by a relative. So, we checked it out and loved it! The most authentic Mexican food we've had in Florida in 22 years! We're from Chicago where they have amazing Mexican food and have always found Mexican restaurants to be very disappointing in Florida until this one. The food was delicious and the salsas were great!!! The staff was very nice and helpful with the menu. The patio seating area was a very pleasant surprise: We felt like we were in a small Mexican town. We wish they had another Chico's near where we live. Can't wait to go back!!!
