We went on a Monday, arriving at five. We were quoted a wait time of an hour. We were finally seated just after two hours. There isn't a lot of choice with the pot pies, just meat or vegetarian and you can say no mushrooms. We ordered four without mushrooms. Instead we got all with mushrooms. The server was not helpful. The pot pie itself looks good but they were incredibly salty. We were at a back booth and the owner stood behind us, never speaking, for an hour. I'm not sure if we got an off night but I wouldn't return.

I love the atmosphere, but be prepared to wait. Don’t come here if you have a taste for pizza. Because this is not pizza. It’s a pizza pot pie. Don’t get me wrong — it’s delicious — it just doesn’t satisfy a craving for Chicago pizza. The Mediterranean bread is also awesome. Definitely worth a visit!

I've been to this restuarant well over 10 times and it's one of my favorites in the city. There are a few quirky things to realize before you go. 1) it is not typical pizza but it is delicious. 2) you're going to wait, the host doesn't take names or phone numbers, but remembers your face - from time to time they may forget you or get the order of people wrong, but if they do they're quick to correct it. 3) no matter what else you order, get the salad and Mediterranean bread and use the dressing from the salad with the bread - amazing!

I finally got to try this place out on my recent visit to Chicago. It was definitely worth it! We arrived at around 3:30 pm on a Friday afternoon and didn’t have to wait for a table at all. Timing was perfect! We ordered the Mediterranean bread which was delicious and very unique looking. I ordered the vegetarian pizza with wheat crust and it was so good! The sauce was my favorite part. I enjoyed everything about this place and the history it clearly exhibits from spending some time there. I will definitely come back to eat here again in the future!!

We came for the pizza pot pie like most but loved it for many reasons. The pot pie is good, great even, but not the best pizza I've had, in Chicago or elsewhere. It's delicious and unique and deserves no less than the five star review.

The salad was amazing, the two house dressings mixed together, which the staff will most likely suggest, are so good and the portions are massive. Our party of two would never have a chance of finishing it at the table.

We also tried the Mediterranean bread after seeing countless reviews and pictures of it. Also huge, also great. It is very soft, pita-like flat bread with seasoning. It's goes great with the salad and, similarly, would be impossible to finish with our party of two.

All in all we we're excited to try out this location after hearing all the hype and it did not disappoint. The food quality was on point, service was fast and friendly. We went on a Monday night around 9pm and got lucky with only a 5 or 10 min wait. The setting is cozy and tucked away but makes for a great atmosphere for the comforting food.

A cozy and romantic spot. We got there early to avoid the line. The Mediterranean bread and the classic pizza we're amazing! The wine portions were generous. Service was quick and friendly, even the manager stopped by to check on us.

owner has is terrible! wife and I 'tried' to go. middle of summer, so super hot, wife is 7 months pregnant and 'supposed waiting area' is the size of a closet. three women were seated, no one got up for a pregnant woman. owner personally came over to say he wasn't cooling outside and it was either get inside or go outside. wait was over 3 hours, no thanks for just okay pizza and rude service. what all the other reviews aren't telling you is the typical long wait you need to endure just to eat in this cramped place. no elbow room in the booths. place is made for midgets

This is a unique place in Chicago, the menu is short, just a few different choices available, and that is good. You can ve sure of the quality of all of that food.
This is a crowded place, every time. It is normal to see people waiting outside for a table, so be ready to wait more than an hour to get a table.
The typical dish is a pie, similar to the deep dish pizza (they will never try to sell it like that). Cooked meat with a tomato sauce, green peppers and onions, in a pie with a lot of cheese.
I tried also the sandwich, they are huge and better than the pizza in my opinion (try both). I also tried the Mediterranean bread, thin bread with cheese, olive oil and spices.

Came to Chicago for my birthday with my best friend. We got here right after it opened, and we're seated fairly quickly! The food is amazing! The staff is super cute and super friendly! The Mediterranean Bread is to die for! Can't wait for my next trip up here! I'm so coming back to have this again!!!!!

I've lived in Chicago for awhile now and finally got to try this gem. The wait is generally pretty long, as in an hour or two, but we were able to make it as they opened and hop right in. Our waiter, Ken, was polite and informative. He gave us suggestions and told us about portions for our party of three. We started out with the Chef Salad which was piled high with lettuce, onion, olives, peppers, tomatoes, and artichoke hearts. It came with two dressings, both of which were to die for. For the main course, we shared a half pound pot pie and a Italian salami grinder. They were both delicious. However I did take the anchovies off of my part of the grinder. Ken did give us the option to have them taken off but I was overruled. We finished with their dessert of a rum ice cream. It was fantastic, but not for the faint of heart because the rum is very potent. It was more than enough for the three of us, the only leftovers we had were some salad. I'll try to be back sooner than a year!

One of my favorite restaurants. The Mediterranean bread and pizza pot pies are to die for. Owner is very sweet and genuine. I've had to wait anywhere from 1-5 hours Be prepared to wait or plan to get here very early! Small restaurant but adds to the cozy, intimate experience.

Important: Bring cash! If you forgot, there is an ATM inside and a Bank of America a ten minute walk north on Clark (Chase is slightly further north). This place oozes charm and is my favorite place to eat in Lincoln Park (the neighborhood I call home). The restaurant sits across the street from the historic location of the St. Valentine's Day Massacre and they say the building was possibly used as a lookout for Al Capone's men. History and crime aside, you come here for the pizza and the pizza is good. Have I had pizza with tastier sauce and crust? Sure. But the pizza pot pie is pure comfort and the novelty is there as well. The grinders are excellent and the homemade salad dressings are definitely worth ordering as well (mix them together for the perfect balance of sweet and creamy).

I visited this place during my trip to Chicago to try something new and it met my expectations. I really like the pizza pot pie for which this place is quite famous. Apart from the pizza I like the bread and loved the seasoning spread it over. I must say the bread was quite huge ,so filling and delicious, person like me with average diet can easily settle with the bread.
Service is really good, waiter will explain the process of preparing their famous pizza nicely. Only thing which I don't like is that they only accept cash so make sure you are carrying enough cash before visiting. Ambience is kind of ok, but wait time is too much and one can figure it out why.

Pizza Pot Pie! It's a pleasant twist to the traditional pizza routine. If you come with a group or more get the Mediterranean flat bread. The ranch is awesome as is the sweet and sour poppy seed. We had a Greek salad and it was delicious as well. Very fast paced so expect to be bumped by servers and bussers. Overall, an excellent experience.

Points for being unique and good service from server. Gelato was amazing as well, though a tad pricey, but worth it.

Did not have a sandwich, maybe they are better than the pizza.

Extremely limited options

Small restaurant makes long wait time

Besides the server the rest of the staff was efficient but disinterested

Concept was unique on pizza pot pie, but flavor was fairly typical and not impressive.

Letting people know about your no credit card policy after they eat, especially when they told you they had never been there before, and expecting the consumer to foot the merchant expenses by paying ATM fees is a petty poor business practice.
