We were very happy with our experience at Cherokee Grill. We used their call ahead seating and when we arrived it was only a 20 minute wait to be seated. Our server was friendly an attentive. The food was excellent and we plan to make this a regular stop during our vacations here.
Our server was incredible. Thank you Michelle!! Everyone I was with (5 adults, 4 kids) ordered steaks and all were spot on except one. The incorrect one was fixed right away and handled perfectly by our server. Was a pleasure dining here. They were open on Christmas and made everyone there feel comfortable. We were seated extremely quickly, the prices were fair and the quality was solid. Next time I'm in Gatlinburg, I'll be coming back for certain!!
The place was decently priced but super busy. Luckily I was able to secure a high top in the bar so we didn't have to wait as long.
I had the cheeseburger and it was surprisingly good. It didn't taste like a frozen patty. The mac n cheese was different but good. My wife has the fried chicken breast and it was also good. Giving it four stars but I probably won't go back. Too many other restaurants in the area to try.
Absolutely the worst restaurant ever. The only positive is the location. The wait was astronomical. I ordered lobster bisque but I did not realize what would come out of the kitchen. This was definitely canned tomato soup (or similar quality) with CRAB STICK in it. No lobster. I choked it down because I was hungry. Will never eat here again. Our whole table was very dissatisfied with the food quality. Anyone who says the food here is good is lying.
The Cherokee Grill was an excellent experience for dinner with our families. We had 11 people dining and the service was flawless. From drinks to the bill, our server was on top of his game. The food was delicious, from the kids meal to the prime rib. The steaks, the sides and everything was impressive. Their starter menu could probably be used to create a great meal on its own as well. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place, but call ahead and get on the wait list.
Our waitress and the atmosphere made our dinner. After getting an Asian steak salad, we realized steak was the way to go. I was not terribly impressed with the salad itself, but I have nothing but good things to say about the steak! If we are back in the area we know exactly what to order to make the meal amazing. The lighting was perfect for a relaxing meal and a very nice layout. Our waitress even offered some advice for local sites in Gatlinburg. She had dark shoulder length hair and bangs. If you could attach her name to my review I would appreciate it. Would love for her to get good words!
Absolutely phenomenal!! Our steaks were cooked to the medium-rare perfection we ordered, and the sides were great too! You get a good amount of food for the price. Service was great! We would definitely go back again.
The evening we went to this restaurant, was perfect. We had a very attentive server, recommended but did not push. The drinks were made perfect. The appetizer was were fresh oysters. Entree was delishI would go back in a heartbeat. If you want casual eating, this may not be the place, but a nice dinner please enjoy as we enjoyed
The wife and I seen the great reviews and tried it and yes well worth the drive from our cabin in the mountains. We both loved the atmosphere and the service was great Alan was helpful and even suggested a draft pale ale beer, very nice with the fish.
I had the southern fried catfish and Diana had the trout, both dishes were so well prepared and big portions, just say our dogs had a snack when we got home. Prices were very reasonable and just an amazing time. Thanks from the Hunters.
Went for lunch and had the Southern Fried Chicken (boneless) with the mashed potatoes and the tomatoes (daily special vegetable) my boyfriend had the Prime Rib sandwich and tomatoes also. Both dishes were excellent, chicken was moist and crunchy, not over cooked, but nice and hot. Prime rib sandwich was a huge hunk of meat, on a roll, very tasty and well seasoned. Service was friendly and attentive, nice bar, comfortable setting. Strongly recommend.
Crab bisque was excellent! Stuffed mushrooms superb! I ordered the prime rib, with blue cheese grits and macaroni & spinach w/spicy cheese. A very good meal. Also is a sister restaurant of Old Smoky Brewery, so they offered a selection of their craft beers.
Great food, fast service and a pleasant atmosphere. It is a bit more expensive, but it's worth it. You get a lot of food for your money & the bread they serve is delicious!! I had a super fresh seafood salad that was excellent and my husband was so impressed with his steak. We will definitely be going back!
2nd visit this week. Had trout that was perfectly prepared and very tasty. We were there after 9 for dinner and still had good service. Don't order iced tea sweet unless you like it extremely sweet!
Based on the reviews I was very excited to try Cherokee Grill with my family last night so I was very surprised and disappointed with the outcome. I will say there was no wait which was very nice, however, it took some time to get our drinks and significantly longer to get our food (2 of our entrees were just salads). We did order the calamari which was spot on, golden anf seasoned perfectly. We sat patently and watched while folks sat after us were receiving there entrees. When our food came my salad and my daughters were not correct and had to go back to the kitchen. We had special requests on both which were not followed. We then waited another 15 min. To have the correct salads returned to us. My husband enjoyed the flavor and temp of his steak but was not impressed that over half of his $36 steak was fat and bone. When my daughter and I received our salads we loved the dressing on the tuna salad but could not believe the amount of blackened seasoning used on the tuna. It was unbearable to her and again had to go back after she chugged 2 glasses of water. I tolerated mine though I believe my mouth went numb after the first 5 or 6 bites. My son ordered ribs and he absolutely loved these! Tasty, falling off the bone and a nice size for a kids meal. Finally we ordered the Strawberry shortcake for dessert and could not even eat it. The bread thing in the bowl (could not even tell you what it was) was really hard like it had sat out in the open air way too long. In summary I feel like we were unfortunate and came at a bad time and likely an off day for our server because this could not possibly be their norm.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Gatlinburg. The menu is well done and everything I have ever tried has been delicious. I have cheese grits with everything. The service is always great and I can't say enough about the food quality. The atmosphere is nice, dimly lit and clean.
