Large campground with many amenities for children and pets. Best bathroom/shower facilities of any other KOA I have stayed at. Many nice sites along river or pond and close to hiking trailheads.

What is nice are the cabins you can rent which overlook the Fork River that is beautiful. We always have fun. The only suggestion I have is they keep things better maintained. Last trip the Stove inside, BBQ outside and other things were needing some good repair. Also, the Electricity went off. Lot's of great opportunities to improve to get 5 Stars. Great location overall!

Very pleased with the campground! Pretty setting, spacious sites, fishing on location, beautiful bathrooms. Unfortunately, bath house #2 kept getting flooded and toilets didn't flush very well. Staff responded very quickly to this when I reported it but it kept happening (probably old pipes..). Will definitely stay there again!

Great for a few nights getaway, but don't plan on too long of a stay. This is a KOA so its not for those looking to truly "rough it". There is a swimming pool, restaurant, bathrooms and most everything you could need.

Campsites are fine and some now have luxury utilities. The staff is friendly, helpful and qualified.

MOST of the staff are very nice, But Mary at the front desk is not a people person and very rude.
The camp ground over all is very nice, the cabin we rented was clean and well kept.
My Family and I stayed 1 Sept to 8 Sept. and we asked the staff every day when the ponds are stocked and everyday we got a different answer, no one seemed to know the correct days, even though we were assured it was stocked twice a week. We fished for a week and didn't see a lot of fish caught. You web site states there is pristine fishing in the ponds and they are stocked, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

We very much enjoyed our stay here. There was lots to do on site to keep us and our 3 kids busy. The staff was kind and accommodating. The grill could have used more staff considering the eclipse weekend traffic. It took about 45 min for breakfast! Also the dance party was loud enough we couldn't hear each other talk at our site 3 streets . I think 9pm is a more appropriate quiet time.

We stayed here for a long weekend. Overall I wanted to like it, and we will go back however I was disappointed in 2 things. First and most importantly site 5 is terrible, horrendous, worst site on the entire campground, honestly just remove it. Where to start, first it's right outside the front door of the store so the traffic, and noise, and music from the pool area is endless. Everyone in the campground cuts through the site to get to the store, so there is an endless line of people just parading through your camp. During our stay our firewood, and our neighbors got stolen. In the mornings the slamming of car doors, and the smell of the diesel trucks idling 20 feet from your rv while they get firewood, ice, and go inside the store will wake you up. In the evening you get people pulling up at all hours and the doors constantly going. The sewer hookup you can't screw into at all, its coming out of the ground at a 45 degree angle and it ends up being much higher than your hose because of how much it's above the ground and angled so its tough to drain out completely. Overall just a terrible, terrible site. Our first night there we tried to buy firewood and one one of the employees (who obviously didn't want to work) refused to sell us any, said there was a ban in the county. There was 5 people within a stones throw with a fire and people had fires all weekend. The next day the same guy was selling other people firewood??? I will probably be back, I liked the location, and the grounds we just got a really bad spot this time, but if we have issues like this again no more for us.

Very disappointed! We have camped there for years and always enjoyed ourselves. This time we brought 4 cabins of people with us and raved about their service beforehand only to get the opposite when we arrived. We weren't given our keys for the cabins when we checked in and didn't realize we needed one (always did tents) until we got to our cabin that was all the way at the far end of our campground. We paid resort fees but there were no activities going on and only one pool was open and the water was gross. We were charged 5 dollars for 2 CUPS of water they poured from the sink and was told by management that they were tired of everyone asking for water so they were going to start charging coke prices. The whole weekend was nothing but bad service but way too much to write on here. Very sad!

We booked and paid for a particular site one year in advance I called six times to verify just to make sure every time was assured that I had my chosen sight , when we checked in they had given it to someone in a class camper that never came out and enjoyed the campsite !!! they stayed at the casino the whole time !!!!! We had preplanned to meet family and friends and we all do it around the same sight! The staff was very rude and and uncaring and the one manager (Ryan)that seemed very kind never had the common courtesy to follow thru with us concerning the mishap! We have been coming to KOA Cherokee for six years !!! we could go to any other place to vacation and we choose to come here 😤😩very disappointed we won't be going back ! 😢

My family & I have been going to this campground for over 8 years, and we have always had great experiences, until our last stay 4-29-30. Like other recent reviewers I noticed that the level of customer service has drastically declined. In past years all of the staff was very nice & helpful , but unfortunately that does not seem to be the case any longer! Like others I also witnessed bickering & a lack of communication between staff, it seems like all of the staff members are not "on the same page" with campground rules & polices and that polices seem to change depending with whom you are speaking with at the time. I witnessed a discussion between front office staff over a pet charge where one staff member said that it was a per stay charge & the other said that it was a per night charge. Also I paid for a late check out, and then the day of check out I was told that they did not offer a late check out! It was only after I was able to provide my receipt showing that I had indeed paid for a late check out that I was allowed to stay! I also noticed that the condition of the water in the pool during our stay was very cloudy & mucky & witnessed a group of guest with their dog in the pool with them!!!
