They are rude but they can be. It is part of the show. The food is really good. The french toastOMG! Enjoy but pay attention to the sizes. It always more that you need.
Yummy, cozy diner with really excellent eggplant fries and good tuna meltsit'd be perfect if the actual tuna salad was grilled and heated with the sandwich bread and cheese. Otherwise, a lovely place for comfort food!
The place was really busy when I arrived, but the service was still good. I ordered the Chicken Mediterranean salad, which I was a bit hesitant of getting at a diner-styled restaurant, but it was very tasty! My only disappointment was in how small the salad was, so it felt a bit pricey for what it was.
Charlie’s 3.0 brings back the iconic restaurant everyone knew and loved. It’ll never be the same without the Manjourides telling their multitude of stories, but the new owners, Sheree and Damian, bring back the dishes that everyone craves. Experience the time honored turkey hash, Cape Cod fresh toast, blueberry compote, along with other longtime fan favorites. The food is delish! The service is wonderful! Tables are still shared.
Credit cards are now accepted and they now have a bathroom!, Don’t miss out at all the pictures on the walls highlighting 90 decades of Boston business.
Amazing staff, quick service and amazing atmosphere! The lady was very nice and great to conversate with. The food portion was just perfect for the amount we paid! I'll be there every week for sure!
Amazing chicken milanese on foccacia sandwich!
As stated earlier good food served quickly by friendly staff at a fair price.
This place is a breakfast diamond in the rough! Friendly staff with amazing food that's priced perfectly. We're outta town staying at the Hilton only walking distance from here. So it's a great walk in a beautiful part of town. Eggs benedict with turkey hash is on pointe!
Good spot for a quick bite in the flower district. I frequent this place during my trips to the flower mart. My order usually consist of a latte, turmeric juice and a great cobb salad to-go. Pulled pork hash is also good but for heftier appetites. Baked goods are a hit or miss on the occasions I've tried them. Can't have everything in one place but I'm totally cool with Charlie's Sandwich Shoppe has going on in here. Morning brunch is nice & tasty here also but I wouldn't suggest it for too large of crowds; for the sake of sitting together. Friendly service & communal seating for the win.
It's a miracle when you can walk right in and sit down, the place is so popular. Good eggs, generous portions of bacon, and great coffee (even the decaf!) We always go here first, when we visit Boston.
Best scrambled eggs I have ever had - she watches over them every second, which is key. Also the home-fries - they're awesome. I may actually lick my plate one of these visits if no one is looking.
Certainly not the Charlie's of oldBreakfast was not great. Potatoes tasted as if they were broiled instead of fried. Atmosphere not warm and friendly compared to the previous owners (family) who ran the business. Looks as if half the original seating is gone. It was always a small space. Why make it smaller? No intentions of ever returning.
I visited Charlie's several times in a week last July when I was in Boston for work. I would go by myself in the morning and sit at the bar. The service was quick and each meal was delicious. I will definitely visit again the next time I am in Boston. Make sure you take cash, they didn't accept credit cards.
We went there for breakfast and although the waitress was very nice, it took her over 15 min to just take our order correctly and then came back many times to clarify the simple breakfast order. By this time we were sure our order will be messed up but it came all right. Service was nice. Scrambled eggs were really good. However, the egg sandwich. My husband had was just ok, nothing great.
Will be going again for lunch perhaps.
