Went there for a holiday party for my husband's work, the banquet hall is just beautiful. The staff was wonderful and food was excellent. It's the perfect venue for a big event.

My husband and I were here for a conference. The lobby, conference room, staff, and overall ambiance of the common areas was welcoming, and aesthetically pleasing. However, we drove around the parking area of the hotel for over 20 minutes trying to find parking to no avail. We finally settled on a space we created ourselves alongside a loading area of the building because we were so late to our event. Once we settled into our room for the evening, there was a horrible, stale, moldy, smell that we later believe was from all of the water that (had possibly been) was all around the window and soaked the carpet around that area. Very disappointed and disgusted!! The area is beautiful, I will choose another area hotel for my next stay!

Fine, established hotel near the harbor. Southern gentility abounds from the front desk, maids, support staff, bars and restaurants. Although there was much heavy construction nearby, noise didn't start until about 7 am. Breakfast in the Concierge Suite for frequent Marriott travelers was disappointing as it featured "rubbery," overcooked scrambled eggs. Although the hotel is older, it was in reasonably good repair although the deadbolt on my room's door was broken. The lobby areas are comparatively grand, underscoring the near opulent aura of the hotel. Net: This is worth the stay.

Loved the room. A.C. actually worked well ( unlike many hotels). Staff very friendly. Shuttle available for $6 a day.

I was here for a conference and was delighted with the remodeled lobby, the food and beverages supplied for the conference and the comfort of the public spaces. The rooftop lounge overlooking the Ashley River was a real surprise to me. I didn't know it was there and it was a wonderful place to enjoy the sunset and talk with other conference goers.

My husbands birthday, and the eclipse we're the same day. The staff were all very nice, and helpful. The rooms were nice, however no microwave in the room. Our shower door was off track, and they're engenier guy was on top of it. He was also very friendly, helpful, gave us suggestions on what to do during our stay. We would definitely consider coming back again!

I actually did not stay here but was invited to have lunch with my friend who was staying. I must say the decor inside is beautiful and very spacious everywhere. Anyway we ate at there dining area and the food was delicious. The seating arrangements were comfortable and are waiter was very polite. I would definitely go back just for the food.

Everything thing was nice and clean, except bathroom. When talking to friends they also said bathrooms are small and dirty. Everyone mentioned the pink and black mold in their shower. The rest is fine. Patio is clean. Restaurant is good. Price for breakfast is high. Meeting rooms are nice. Parking was easy and plentiful.

Beautifully decorated hotel with a restaurant. There's also a "roof top" bar that's open into night. Tiny gift shop has snacks for when you get munchies at any time. My room was comfortable but smaller than expected. Bathroom was very small too. Otherwise overall good quality and great service as expected from Marriott.

Enjoyed my stay here over Memorial Day weekend. The hotel is well kept and modernized. Close proximity to the historic district, a car is still needed, although they do have a shuttle available to take you around. Only critique is limited options for food (they have only one restaurant) and the bathrooms are pretty small. Otherwise great place to stay when visiting Charleston!

Nice hotel conveniently located. Lobby is spacious and comfortable with many seating areas. View is not particularly nice as one side of hotel faces a construction site. Staff is very pleasant and accommodating.

This hotel was great. Amazing experience. Everything was wonderful. Staff was great and the bed was super comfortable. I've never felt so at home in a hotel before as we did here. The staff treated us like we had known each other for years and just like we were family. If you're in the area, I recommend that you make this hotel your first choice. You won't regret it for sure. Safe travels.

Stayed at the Charleston Marriott for a week on business. The hotel was nicer than the JW I stayed at in New Orleans. It's a clean, averaged priced hotel in a safe area with incredible staff and it features a good restaurant, a good bar and some incredible meeting and event space. The rates were average for the star/location, the room was clean and of average size and the staff was incredibly friendly. The bar was very reasonably priced, especially for a hotel bar, at $10 for a double Jack and $12 for a double Johnnie Walker (black). Surprisingly, they offered Blue label for $24 but I stayed with my usual drinks. The coffee was better than the Starbucks by my office, Their rib-eye was excellent, the braised pork chop was also really good. The wait staff were very attentive. Their convention and meeting space was incredible (on par with nice hotels in Vegas just on a smaller scale). The Internet was a little hit or miss. The hotel said they are in the process of upgrading their system so that might explain things. Anyway, I would definitely stay here againnext time, I'm upgrading to one of the rooms with the little balcony's.

Remodeled and is REALLY nice inside. Great view outside of the river. Staff were all friendly and helpful.

Beds are so comfortable.. I actually want to purchase a comforter like what they use.

Could have only been my fridge but it made a loud rattling noise on and off while I was there.

Will definitely stay here again when I come back!
