Absolutely beautiful place to hold a wedding, i was visiting from virginia, my niece got married here during sunset. Friendly staff and absolutely gorgeous views!!!

Like an eagle, you will sit atop of a crag looking over greater LA. The facilities here including the recently renovated rooms overlooking the city are very well designed to give maximum viewing pleasure. The staff are accommodating. Though they had some bumps along the road during the renovation, it's perfectly situated for a major event.

I wanted to thank 3 extraordinary employees of Castaway who helped me and my daughter at a disaster moment of anxiety. They were extra friendly and understanding. They took about half an hour off their work to help us . They names are: Rebecca, Ashley and Steve. I am so thankful that humanity still exists. I command the person who hired them since he knew they are going to be exceptional employees. I wish them all the best in their lives.

My friends and I wanted to eat at a fancy restaurant so I recommended The Castaway. We were not disappointed as the service was incredible! Alan and Craig took care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious as always and I highly recommend this place to anyone. The view this restaurant offers is spectacular and I cannot wait to come back.

I cannot begin to describe how absolutely upset my wife and I are. We are another couple who's wedding plans are ruined because of their disregard for the customer. We booked about a year ago as well and we described our situation. I am in The United States Navy and scheduled this day while my ship was in port prior to deployment. Then just like the previous reviewer was informed of the renovations just months prior to our date. They tell you that they will still help meet your needs, RIGHT!! Two months before, after your invitations are awaiting delivery. Face it, you don't give a ####. What do you care about my tens of thousands of dollars when your spending 10 million in renovations. Forget my financial cost, I'm sure you have a refund system in place and you can deliver your sympathetic apologies. But honestly, tomorrow is going to be just another day for you, your dreams and hard work are not ruined or affected. You don't care. Anyone thinking of going with Castaway should think twice, they won't take care of you, you are just $$$.

We went two weeks ago for Sunday brunch about 35 people for a mother an daughter dinner, the service was good, they kept the mimosas flowing an the view was great, and the food was pretty good, plan to come back in a week for our anniversary.

My fiancé and I came here to celebrate getting engaged earlier that day. The food was good, the views were spectacular. Well worth the drive up the mountain, if you can go during sunset it's incredible.

We visited this place for a romantic dinner, the view is astonishing and that's the only reason we went there. Unfortunately, the food was not good at all. That was unexpected because the restaurant is a landmark. The food was so salty and was overcooked. The fish was dry and burnt. The service was not good at all, you may get better service at McDonald's.

First the ProsVery nice view of Los Angeles.outside dining area large and very nice. We got there for the sunset dinning which is between 4-6 pm. I guess you get what you pay for the Margarita drink was so watered down, the salad was so drenched with dressing. Our waiter was no way to be found most the night. Big surprised was when I went to pay the bill I noticed they charged us for dessert which was supposed to be included in the sunset dinner.they fixed the bill but then later after we left I noticed they charged us full price for the Margarita's (Sunset dinner had happy hour prices on drinks). My first and probably last experience there. Too many other places to enjoy.

The Castaways has gone down in value lately. They used to be my favorite restaurant in Los Angeles, one to which I took all my visitors. First, they should re-establish the salad bar in the evening. This was always a big draw and the offerings on the salad bar were terrific! Second, they should serve a nice warm bread prior to the meal--currently no bread is served. A nice warm loaf would be terrific. And third, they should offer at least one pork dish on the menu. They used to serve a great bone-in pork chop. Hope to see some improvement in the future.
