Love the vibe in this place. Had two chicken tacos and some local brew. Quick turn-around for lunch if you beat the noon rush!

We've been coming to Cass St. Bar & Grill for years, and it's always been a casual bar (nothing fancy), but had great food (fresh fish, etc) for reasonable prices. However, the prices keep going up, and now they are at the point we expect a lot more for the price. The food isn't quite as good as it use to be, it cost more than it should ($12-13 for a salad), and there seemed to be a lot of confusion between the workers on how to pay. The stools are completely worn out (terribly torn & wobly), some tables are very sloped (to the point that another customers beer slid off onto the floor while the guy was up placing his order). Not sure what's going on, but they need to sink a little money back into the place and get it back to the way it use to be.

Burger was good but the lettuce was one piece of yellow iceberg, pretty weak, it also came with no side, which is sad for a $10 burger. They were out of cheese for the dishes that my parents ordered, but didn't tell them when they ordered. Fish was over cooked. The oriental chicken salad was good. The people working were very unorganized, we were standing around with other people to pay because the lady didn't know what she was doing. Stools are thrashed and floors are only partially done. Have been here before and it has definitely gone down in quality. Very over priced for what you get. Will not be coming here again.

Been going to Cass Street Bar & Grill since 1987. Every time I go to San Diego I need my fix. Order the Steak Sandwich, Oriental Chicken Salad & an order of pan potatoes with cheese and share with someone. This is totally a Diner's Drive In and Dives Place. It smells like a real bar, looks like a real beach bar and the food is incredible. The place should be a city landmark for casual fun and food.

Cioppino and Oriental Fish salad are our favorites. Burgers rock. Great chili. It's all good. We always see someone we know here. Locals place for sure, but a great place to send tourists. "Eat where the locals do." Cass Street for sure. Hi Kevin!
