Got married here 3 years ago, came back for our anniversary and got this gross surprise. Was ankle deep in tub water while taking a shower. When I looked saw this glob of months of hair and soap scum in drain. I notified the front desk and requested the manager come to room so I can show her. I was told Amy would give me a call3 days later still no call. Obviously no one cares. Last time we go there to celebrate our anniversary. Very sad and unfortunate.
Attended a wedding here and it was so much fun. The catering staff was nice and courteous and most of the food was really good. Plus of course, the beautiful beach location doesn't hurt.
Went to a wedding at Casa Ybel. A beautiful place to have a wedding, very pretty and a great view of the sunset. Food was decent.. but much better than other weddings I've been too. Overall a great time.
Large suite with a full kitchen and a big screened in deck greet you when you check into this hotel/timeshare property. The hotel does not seem to be ADA, as there are no elevators to hoist you to the rooms. Since the hotel is so close to the beach, even the bottom floor is one flight up to keep the place dry in flooding from hurricanes. The dining room does have a long ramp to get you inside and check-in does have and ADA area. The staff at this hotel is good and polite. Even though there are many units, the layout affords privacy and a sense of tranquility. I suspect this may be the nicest hotel on Sanibel Island. The room are within throwing distance of the shell-covered beach with a south exposure. You can catch both the sunrise and sunset from your room. The rooms are really like an apartment with a separate bedroom and big room for cooking, dining and relaxing. There is an abundance of nearby places to eat and a great market, Jerry's, nearby to bring in food for cooking or prepared meals. The hotel has a pool area with outdoor eating and drinking. If you like shells, this is the beach to go to and Casa Ybel is the resort to stay at during your visit.
Beautiful grounds. Was there for a wedding. Reception food could have been better, but overall great place.
Nice resort. Stayed in unit 190. Two bedroom. Wi-Fi was a bit spotty. Pool is great! Wonderful gulf view with nice sands and great for shells. Chris at outside bar was fantastic!
Absolutely gorgeous place to stay! Pool is beautiful. Sunsets in the beach are very romantic. Fun at the pool with a neat bar that serves great food and drinks.
Beautiful townhouse-like units with Gulf views. Screened in lanai to protect from most bugs while enjoying the view. Coconuts is a great poolside bar with friendly bartenders.
I'm sure this resort is amazing if you are able to stay, but unfortunately we will never know. I just contacted the hotel about accessible room options, and was absolutely shocked to find out that not only do they not have accessible rooms, but they don't have any elevators at all. It is 2017, and a resort such as this should be modified. I'm not saying change up the whole place, but I have traveled around the world with my husband who uses a wheelchair & this is the only place I have ever come across claiming to be a resort and not have at least one accessible room option. Just very frustrating for us and others who may be in a similar situation :/.
Paradise realized! The restaurant is fantastic! If you want to see Sanibel, this is a great place to stay as it is centrally located and has a great staff.
The pool area is beautiful and seating is plentiful. The staff is extremely welcoming and friendly. There was interactive live entertainment at the bar, providing lots of laughs and fun. There's easy access to the beach and a beach volleyball court.
We ate at The Thistle Lodge for Mother's Day Brunch. Amazing! I'm gluten, dairy and soy free. The chef was very knowledgeable about his food. Although I was limited on what I could eat, my family loves the rest of the food. The grounds are beautiful. We are going back in the future for a vacation stay.
We've had a timeshare for over 30 years (since before I was born) and it's been wonderful every year. Great amenities and really nice atmosphere. People often have weddings on the beach and they have the reception by the pool and play nice music. But the other night they had club music with the bass so loud we couldn't sleep. It was thumping our condo making the bed shake. The front office staff woman was really rude and hung up on us several times. My dad went down to the office to talk to her and she was extremely rude and very evasive on who the property manager was, and wouldn't even give him her own name.
Casa Ybel is truly a wonderful resort. They have a really nice beach that is clean and well maintained, they have a swimming pool with music and a bar (which is quite overpriced), and a great hottub. There is never NOT something to do and the place is a really relaxing get-away. I would recommend to anybody!
