Room was clean and a decent size. It was close to the pool so I could smell the pool chemicals but i got use to it. Snack section was good, except they only had Pepsi products
I could not wait to review this place. We arrived here using our Marriott annual certificate that we get. Once here we arrived and had the front desk overly occupied with answering the phones and talking on them. I also noticed another guest being helped with his WiFi issues on his laptop. After standing there for 5-7 minutes, we were finally greeted by the phone girl receptionist after a manager came out of the back to help her out. As we were getting checked in, they were asked if they had any upgrades as that is part of being a Marriott Platinum. The front desk receptionist appeared to be confused and was looking in the computer before being helped by the manager. The manager asked how many nights it was for and we advised her it was only for one night. She looked in the computer and to me, made it seem like she was doing me a favor by giving me the entitled room upgrade (I am very and overly aware of Marriott's rules and regulations as it relates to room upgrades). We asked for a later checkout, and it was like we were twisting their arm. Keep in mind, I travel ALL over the world, and this was by far the hardest property to get a late checkout. We were both extraordinarily stunned and shocked by being told we were essentially not able to accommodate us. We were given a key, explained the outlay of the hotel and subsequently made our way up to our room.
As we walked in, my entire family noticed a smell that reflected almost like a mold type of smell. Before we got settled, I went back downstairs asked for another room key and was given one. I did check out the other room and noticed the same exact smell. I decided not to take the room and told the front desk of the same type of smell. To be fair, I have a very sensitive nose as it relates to moldiness type of smell. The front desk apologized and informed them that we would not be in our room that much. So that sums up the initial check-in portion.
Later that night we got back to the hotel and got our kids onto the pullout couch/bed (If that is what you want to call it). While pulling it out, they put a bag over it to keep stains getting into the flimsiest "mattress" I have ever seen or let alone felt. We made the bed for the kids and kept in mind that every time they moved we heard the garbage bag like the sound of their movement. We got into our bed, and for this being a Marriott Hotel, we were both overly surprised as to the quality of our bed. I know how mattress should be and this was the furthest thing from being a Marriott bed. The bed was incredibly thin and extremely uncomfortable. We survive through the night in one of the worst sleep I have ever had at a "Marriott property."
Following morning we make our way to the lobby for breakfast around 6:45 am. It is evident they are busy as they have a baseball team there. Looking around we were able to see trash bins overflowed with food, food appeared to be in disarray, and the food person that morning was bring eggs out in a plastic bag. During breakfast, I grab a Chobani Blueberry. I open it up and notice the consistency is not right, which causes me to look at the expiration. Looking at the label, I see it is showing expired Nov 03, 17, the date of eating was Nov 11, 2017. Can you tell me how you run a business and do not check your yogurt? That pretty much-killed breakfast for sure.
I walked back to the front desk and saw a black gentleman receptionist. I again request a later checkout, due to activities I had planned that morning, I needed a shower before leaving to go home. The gentleman struggled to give me until 1 pm (Guess it is overly hard to get a late check out for whatever reason). I was firmly told the latest I could get was 12 pm.
It is overly apparent from the check-in process to the room detail, to the breakfast. If it were up to me, would I ever stay here again, not a chance if they were the only hotel in Ft. Myers. This was nothing more than a fancy slum hotel that had the same appearance as the lower class motels. I stay all over the world in Marriott's and never ever had this experience.
Just what I expected from the hotel. Everything was good. The room was a little bit smaller than usual, but not a problem at all. Would recommend.
Easy check in. Very helpful stuff. Great room. Location, location, location! What more could you ask for? This hotel truly is a gem in the Ft. Myers area. Looking forward to our next stay!
The location is fabulous. Tons of food options, retail shopping, close to Lake Regional Park, & easily accessible. Customer service is wonderful and friendly. Breakfast is inclusive of pork & non pork items. I would londe to stay here again.
This is a great hotel. You can't get a better location with shopping and dining options nearby. The rooms are spacious, clean and modern. The staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive. This is a great hotel.
Staff was friendly, but the original room that I had gotten had a giant dehumidifier in it that people forgot about, so I had to be moved to a different room. Also, the continental breakfast did not have very many offerings, and the elevator felt like it was about to break. Bed was comfortable, and desk space was nice.
Your staff was friendly end helpful every afternoon of my stayed I was welcome with kindness and a smile.
Thank you
It is an older hotel, maybe 1970-80s, that has been renovated. It is okay. Breakfast was reasonable for the included price. Wireless access without password. Plenty of lights. At least 2 USB ports for charging in the room. 3 stories with 1 elevator.
Love this hotel! One of the best in Florida! Always taken care of by their excellent staff and welcomed with a smile. Thank you!
The hotel was in a popular area which was just fine. The lobby was very nice and breakfast was offered. The rooms were pretty great for the value we paid in the area. Just what we needed, nothing more or less. I recommend to anyone who does not need to stay on the beach.
Fabulous front desk service! Nice amenities including hot tub!! Good breakfast, nice rooms with tons of USB ports for chargers, and comfy beds. Clean. Quiet. 😀
