The Raptor Center is a wonderful place to visit! Well worth the money. The workers are amazingingly helpful and the birds are so very interesting, they each have a story. Great learning experience for kids and adults!! Go check it out!

Peaceful location to to walk and commune with birds of prey. Learn about raptors and how they benefit the environment. There is a bench in front of the eagle owl and barred owl aviaries. I believe that is the best seat and all of Charlotte.

What a cool place. My wife is a huge fan of raptors, so this was a natural stop. The sights mostly consist of a nature trail that winds through the forest, with raptor mews spread throughout. They have many species from all over the world, many of which we had never seen before. The information at each bird is also well done, with standard species data, as well as quizzes and "did you know" type lift boards. Near the main building is also a kids play area where they can pretend to be like a raptor in various ways.

I work at an emergency vet and someone brought in an injured screech owl. I called Carolina Raptor Center and they had a volunteer at our business within a couple of hours to transport it to them. I wish I could remember the name of the very nice woman I spoke to there. She was even able to give instructions regarding treatment we could do on the owl until someone got here. I was very impressed. Highly recommend this facility for birds of prey. You could tell they really cared.

Outstanding place for kids and adults -
The work done here by the Veterinarians and volunteers is inspiring.

Really a cool place to learn things that we never knew about the birds we just watch soaring around in the air

Take a trip, and enjoy an bit of time as you walk the paths & view the birds in rehab

Easy walk, but bring some bug spray (the mosquitoes can be brutal)

The Raptor Center is awesome. Birds of prey are the most beautiful and fearsome fowl on the planet. The job that the veterinarians and care keepers of the birds is remarkable also. Lots of the aircraft designed for the military and commercial carriers are based on these birds. I can only give 5 stars but the birds and the center deserve 10.

The description on the website talks about a huge acreage for the facility, but we didn't realize until we got there that only a small portion is open to the public. Also, I was expecting a more holistic approach to providing injured birds an environment like the wild, and it's mostly looking at birds in cages.
Really enjoyed the talks by the volunteers when they brought out individual birds for Q&A, and the vulture feeding session at noon with demonstrations and a keeper talk. That was worth the entrance fee for me, but not somewhere I plan on visiting again on a regular basis.

Get a chance to get up close with some really cool birds. Lots of information about the birds is available. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great place to take kids!
