Go early for tire installations because it's first come, first served. I had a very long wait but it was a very busy time. (following first real snowfall). Poor planning in my part, but comfortable waiting room, clean restrooms and free coffee.

Two different mechanics told me they believed Carman's may be responsible for my cracked rim after they changed my tire, which could have caused a catastrophic blowout. When I called them, I was gruffly told that there was no way they could have caused the crack, because they know how to do their job. They said aluminum rims sometime crack, but they would just seal it if they saw it. How do you 'seal' cracked aluminum? I would think they would at least want to look at my rim, but the guy said he's not doing anything. This is a huge liability, one that they don't take seriously.

After having a new tire put on my car at Carman's Wholesale Tire, I started having trouble with air leaking right away. At first it was just in small amounts in the morning, so I figured that the changing weather might have something to do with it. When it got much worse, I was forced to stop at the closest mechanic to my home, who told me that the rim was actually cracked. They explained that they believed Carman's either knew about the crack, or possibly caused it while changing the tire. I also spoke to a mechanic friend, who agreed. Both mechanics explained how Carman's may have caused the crack while changing the tire. Both also explained that hitting a pothole could cause a catastrophic blowout. Obviously, a wreck COULD lead to the loss of my vehicle or the loss of my life. Both mechanics thought I should call Carman's, as they may replace the rim. Of course, I can't prove that Carman's caused this, but as both mechanics thought it very likely and explained it all to me, I thought the potential loss (of vehicle or life) is pretty serious. When I called, I was gruffly told that there was no way they could have caused the crack, because they know how to do their job. They said aluminum rims sometime crack, but they would just seal it if they saw it. How do you 'seal' cracked aluminum? I would think they would at least want to look at my rim, but the guy said he's not doing anything. This is a huge liability, one that they don't take seriously.

I ran over a piece of metal and called Carmen's to see if I could get my tire plugged.. the man said to hurry because they were closing in ten minutes. I got there and they weren't able to do the plug/patch because it was too close to the sidewall. It was saturday and as soon as I got there, they were closing up. I was pulling out when the mechanic yelled for me to come back, the woman behind the counter asked me a few questions and said that because I had recently bought my tires from them that they wanted to help.. the mechanic came out with a brand new tire already on my wheel! They stayed atleast an extra half hour on saturday for me and I can't think of a better way to express my gratitude than to tell everyone reading this that this is why you want to buy local, from the little guy.. he's going to shake your hand and tell you that they were happy to help, not ask you to press 1 for english!

They work hard to get the tires you need for a good price and quality. They are very knowledgeable of what is best for your vehicle. I have using them for over 30 years and I am very satisfied with my purchases
I highly recommend Carman's tires services

Took my car for an alignment and came back worse than when I took it in. Visually you can see the front toe is not straight - although they promised it was perfectly straight. Open the hood and My camber plates were broke and a scratched up from them prying on it, but of course they didnt tell me.. (there is no need at all to pry on camber plates, you loosen 4 nuts and move it with your hand..)
Driving home the car would pull hard left when accelerating, took my car straight to another shop in Johnstown to have it double checked. They confirmed toe was not in spec at all and they found my driver-side antiroll bar link was not reconnected which was causing the car to push me into on coming traffic
Overall was a very bad experience and will be sure to let others know - even when I first got their the lady at the front desk was very rude. The mechanic that took my car didnt know how to start it (its keyless, you press the big red start button..) For all the customers that gave good reviews and said was quick service, you may want to double check and you'll see why it was so quick.

Good local business. No issues or problems. You can ask staff for their recommendations on tires. Would recommend them to anyone looking for tires.
