We got married in Tavernier and chartered a boat with Captain Slate's to take our crew snorkeling. Sky and Bob showed us the best time with two stops along the reef. Our reservation was for two weeks after Hurricane Irma so we weren't sure we'd be able to go, but the guys at Slate's were itching to take their customers back on the water. We had a blast, saw sharks, rays, eels, and countless species of fish. These guys have it dialed in and are definitely open for business after the storm and will show you a great time!

Went out with Captain Slate, Captain Joe, First Mate Patrick, and Frazier Nivens on September 3, 2017. All I can say is amazing. The crew was awesome and the experience was incredible.

Advice: It's best to find a spot on the bottom and just sit and watch. The Divers (Captain Slate and his team) who handle the aquatic life (the professionals) will lure them to you and you get to interact. No need to swim and get in their way. Just relax and let them bring the show to you.

My dive was an amazing experience, not only because I got to pet a shark, saw beautiful tropical fish, and explored a living coral reef it was amazing because the people that work here are amazing. Patrick, captain sky, and First mate Jeremy were incredible. Helpful, knowledgeable, experienced. For my first time I called the day before and was able to get reservations easily, not usually the case with most places-not because they weren't busy, but because they were accommodating. They wanted us to enjoy our vacation. Hands down one of the best times in my life. I will never forget my dive, and I will never forget captain slates!

I am a Florida Keys localhave dove twice for the creature feature because out of town dive friends wanted to do it. The dive itself was really awesome but the staff are just insanely rude. I have dove with many dive boats over the years and have never been treated as crappy as on their boat. If you're looking for a cool dive and can get over the rudeness of the staff go for it. You have been warned.

Awesome time and really friendly staff. They accommodated us last minute after the other snorkeling tour cancelled on us. Best value for tour price and renting equipment that I found.

Our family of ten went to Captain Slate's for our first snorkel trip, and the experience was incredible! Very friendly staff and crew, fair prices and best of all, memories that will last a life time. Our ship captain was intelligent and made us feel safe. We will gladly visit again on our next trip! Fun for all ages, from 5-75!

Relatively easy operation for a group dive or an individual to join up with a group. Friendly professional crews. No nonsense mindset and they care about your health and safety. Affordable pricing. Plenty of parking.
