I met Jimmy just the other day
Amazing coach, but more so truly amazing man. Still works every day!
We had a lot of fun. The food was pretty good and the staff was nice. Service was slow but they were pretty busy.
Food was good, but a bit pricey. Bathroom was a bit run down, 2 toilets clogged. Video games were a huge waste and ended up taking about 3 or 4$.
This is one of those places that you pay a little more because of the spectacular view. I love hanging out at the outdoor bar, drinking a few and watching the sunset. They have happy hour and drink specials and other deals to keep you enjoying the evening. The location is great, many other hangouts just steps away.
Happy hour @ Big Chill is a must do. Outdoor seating on the water, tiki bar, drink and food specials, a real party atmosphere along with live music. What else can I say? Oh yeah, the best sunset view in Key Largo!
The view was good, I will give it that and that's why they get 3 stars. Food was expensive and wasn't very good. Cheap food quality, high prices and a spectacular place to watch sunset as you dine. Our server was new and any questions she had she left the table to go search out an answer so we were left alone frequently while she searched for answers. Honestly on this one I wouldn't waste my time or my money to go back as I want too impressed by the food. I had the coconut shrimp and there was nothing special about it. My husband said his food was ok, nothing special. He was disappointed as this restaurant was his choice and he had been wanting to try it since we rolled in to town.
Excellent service and delicious food that was served in a decent time. Staff took time to listen to wife's dietary issues and she was able to modify to her liking. Was a live band playing various styles of music that wasn't too loud or obtrusive, actually enjoyed listening for once. Clean restrooms, friendly staff. Parking a bit tight, even though restaurant was only half full, the parking lot was filled as we took the last spot. Very decent place, first time there but would be happy to go back.
I hung out at the tiki bar and was served by Scott. Didn't eat anything, but had the "Big Chill" a grapefuit margarita and the "Happy Ending" (their words not mine). With sunset, drinks and live music I had a great time.
Good food. Good view. Good drinks. It's a tradition when going down to Largo with the family.
Laid back beach bar and eatery in the most traditional of "margaritaville" atmosphere. Menu seems to have something for every taste, they even have an in-house pizza joint. Dock-your-own-boat if u choose to sail instead of drive there!
Good view, good bands, inexpensive beer. Service wasn't super attentive or responsive, but you don't go to the keys to live at break neck speed. Chill out, meet the locals and enjoy the experience.
Jimmy Johnson's was a great dining experience mostly due to the quality of the food. After being seated, our party of 7 waited about 10 minutes before a waitress came to our table to recognize us. After the initial wait, the service was very good. The smoked fish dip was phenomenal as was the lobster mac and cheese (don't skip on the appetizers). I chose a much different route with my actual meal opting for a "small" calzone (which was perfectly cooked and huge!). The menu items were priced a little higher than most restaurants in the area, but the portions were sizable and the quality of the food justified the slightly higher cost. Everything seemed clean and well kept. The only challenge that I'd point out is that of parking. It was very difficult to find a legal space to park as this was a very busy spot on a Saturday night (some cars parked in fire zones). Overall I would highly recommend Jimmy Johnson's.
