Dr. McFarland was a friend of mine growing up in Ohio. I hadn’t talked to her for some time but my pug was in dire need. Her kidneys were failing and she was down and out. I contacted Dr. McFarland after many years and she gave me the best advice. Because she consulted on the case, Lizzie got the best treatment in the world by a specialist and survived. Dr. McFarland went out of her way to do this for the Love or animals and I’m eternally grateful. THANK YOU!
The staff and Vets are WONDERFUL! Very caring and passionate about the Fur-Babies! Easy and fast appointments.
Very caring staff. Affordable.
Have been there numerous times with different pets. Going again Monday with 2 more. We live an hour away, if they were closer they would be our regular vet. I never experienced what the negative Nellie above did. In fact the one that's going Monday is a very neurotic ACD and Dr. McFarland examined her teeth last year with no problem.
I have a very hyper and excited breed of dog. I'm always worried how people will react around him. The whole office was fantasic! They were even able to trim his nails! They were extremely affordable, knowledgeable, and super friendly. I'm so glad I found a fantastic vet
Great Vets! Great Staff! Great Love for Your Pets!
I am very pleased with Dr. McFarland's knowledge about treating my GSD. The staff is pleasant and easy to work with. I would recommend Cape Horn Vet service for treatment or exams for any pet. we used Cape Horn Veterinary services for feral spaying, to neuter our male pet cat and check ups for our GSD.
The staff and Drs are caring, very nice.
Absolutely worst experience and most pathetic excuse for a "dog exam" I HAVE EVER SEEN!
They must have run some kind of promotional deal to have people leave positive reviews. Being in marketing I am well aware companies/businesses do that.
The "doctor" walked in didn't introduce herself to me then says hi to my GSD and says I am going to sit next to you. I actually had to get up because there was not enough room for her to sit and have me next to her with my GSD in front of her!
Her "exam" consisted of trying to listen to his heart but he walked away so she gave up. She would not get out of the chair. She was more focused on trying to get me to get him fixed, telling me he has bad confirmation and couldn't be a show dog(which i never even said was my plan because it isn't) and talking about her family then examining him.
I was there to get his front k9 checked. She pulled his head towards her, twisted it, and then tried to move his lips. Which of course is extremely uncomfortable for him so he didn't open his mouth as willing as he normally would have. He walked away and once again she gave up.
Her response to seeing what she could was "well he did a number on it and I can see the pulp." I had to ask what to do about it, if it needs to be removed, what steps we should take. Every response was hming and hawing. When she gets to well watch for discoloration it may heel over it may not. I said ok then what if it gets discolored then well if it doesn't seem to bother him.. then that was it. She said they could do a needle test to see how deep it is but she couldn't get a good look at it. UM HELLO I AM PAYING YOU TO LOOK AT IT AND YOUR NOT GOING TO GET out OF THE DAMN CHAIR TO MAKE AN EFFORT TO DO SO. You make your customer get up because you want to sit down.
DO NOT GO HERE. WORST PET EXAM I HAVE EVER BEEN TO in 10 years of owning dogs
On the plus side the front desk folks are awesome!
Was searching for a vet I trusted after many recent disappointments. I couldn't be happier with my first visit to Cape Horn. Dr. Urban is compassionate, caring, and highly competent. She put my arthritis dog on an affordable treatment plan for his arthritis utilizing a combination of treatments that is far better than NSAID therapy alone. We covered many topics and she gave me all the time I needed. I'm so impressed!
