No extras, but everything you want for an extended stay. This is an extended stay. Your room is not made up everyday. Coffee is not brought to your room. No free breakfast, you pay for what you eat. Best for a week or longer stay.
Overall bad experience. Was forced to stay here on an extended stay for work. As such, the hotel decided we only deserved limited room service which they called "a light touch". This included full service 1 day a week, zero service on weekends and a "light touch" the remaining 4 days. Problem is they never even came into our room on most "light touch" days. We'd get a letter on our door stating that had staffing issues and would get service the following daynever happened. We had to go to the lobby for fresh towels, coffee refills, toilet paper, etc. So beware"a light touch" apparently means you have to go get your own stuff. Got an apology letter upon check out stating they had staffing issues and requesting we give them a try again in the future.not a chance!!
Not impressed. There were unfortunate issues when we went to check in, but were resolved. Just not a good situation to have to deal with after spending 6 hrs. on the road. The Carpet in our room was dirty and felt slimy. Rain came through window leaving carpeting wet. Bathroom showed some cleaning, but floor boards behind door were dirty and looked like it had not been cleaned in awhile. One ‘decorative’ pillow on bed was totally opened on one end with shredded foam coming out of it. Front desk personnel for the most part were considerate. The place needs some new carpets or at least clean them.
I spent 3 months here a couple of years ago. Great people, wonderful accommodations. The location is good, in North KC and the personal atmosphere is warm. A year later I bought something on ebay and inadvertently sent it to a default address, the Candlewood from the previous year. The staff held it for me. Really good people and I'd highly recommend it. I've traveled a lot and this is top of the list for extended stays.
Room was clean, staff was pleasant, but the price you pay during nascar is outrageous. You would at least think you'd get a continental breakfast.
The staff here is amazing. We arrived extremely late on a Friday night in bad weather. There was a mix up in my pre-order of a rollaway bed. Instead of just leaving us to figure it out on our own they switched us to a room that would accommodate us comfortably. Since this was a multi-generation family vacation I truly appreciated the time and effort they took to make us comfortable for the weekend.
Awesome place. Amenities in the room like fridge, freezer, and can cook. Also free Landry.
Candlewood was a nice cozy hotel. The room was clean and well kept. It was a point four mile walk to the legends and if you didnt want to walk that far there was a bar right by the hotel.
George at the front desk was very friendly, helpful, and expedient in getting us checked in/out. The room was exactly what you expect if you've stayed in a Candlewood - clean, but not fancy. We were in a one bedroom queen suite, and the bed seemed more like a full than a queen, but was comfortable and we got a good rest. However, we were awakened in the morning by housekeeping knocking on our door, well before check out time, because they wanted to clean our room.
Great hotel that allowed or pets in the room. Very clean, quiet and plenty of places to eat nearby.
Great location and friendly staff. Was here for 3 weeks and don't have a complaint
Taking away two stars. My card was hacked here. Got a letter the other day. Explains why my card was used in Vegas a few months ago. Still enjoyed my experience but they're going to have to assure me they've taken steps to protect my information.
Excellent location for restaurants and shopping. The front desk staff were excellent! The rooms were spotless! I will definitely return!!
We recently had a very extended stay at the Candlewood Inn and Suites Kansas Speedway. My family booked a room to be near my Dad while he was in the hospital. We stayed for 54 nights and the staff was fantastic. Our only concern was that it might have been an additional 6-7 nights but near the end we needed to extend our stay because my Dad's transfer to rehab was delayed. The hotel was unable to extend the hotel the remaining days and I felt the attendant at the desk was not as helpful as he could have been. It meant moving to a different hotel and losing the price break we were getting due to the extended nature of our stay.
We did find that the housekeeping was not always consistent. We had a couple instances where the room went two weeks without cleaning and not at our request.
For the most part we were pleased with our stay!
