Rooms are ok,and the restaurant, bar are definitely overpriced. Lots of area restaurants and shopping malls near by.
I stayed for 22 consecutive days, while attending Choo Choo U a few miles away. Staff was pleasant, but are what I would refer to as snooty. I am just a old hippie who did 18 and half years wearing high and tight. Now I'm long and loose and they look at me like the devil himself.
Nice place I had no issues. Good staff especially Terry and Arianna they showed great patience and provided great service even when they had to deal with close to 50+ kids running around the hotel.
A lovely hotel, even though it recently switched ownership from Crown to Clarion. It's nice and clean, though can be difficult to navigate as it's a bit sprawling. The staff was so helpful and friendly, though it seems like none of the rooms have refrigerators!
Arrived late Monday night (9ish) looking for overnight accommodations during a work trip. Stopped in and was greeted by front desk manager, Ted. I have to say that this was my best experience checking into any hotel. Ted was cordial and efficient. Small talk regarding my home town in Illinois & a celebrity from my hometown made me feel more that welcome. Clean & well kept facilities, coupled with over-the-top service - a great combination. Thanks again, Ted, for your hospitality!
I went to the Crowne Plaza to see a friend that was staying in overnight. The rooms were very clean, the pool was nice. The atmosphere and decorations are a little bit dated. I didn't get to try the restaurant or bar area but they also looked nice.
Stayed 8.12.17. Opened my suitcase when I got home and found a live spider coming out of my bag. Then we placed all of the items we had in the room in the garage. We washed our clothes and found a cockroach in the washing machine. If this is a 3.5 star hotel then I have ocean front property for sale in Kansas. BTW the pool was too cold for swimming. Good luck to all that stay in the future.
I imagine this place is not going to open for long. We live in KC but are moving, wanted a reasonable place with a pool for the kids between houses.
The pool was ice cold, so the hot tub is where all the kids were at, it was slightly warmer. Our door keys stopped working mid stay, not a big deal since exterior doors of building are all broken anyway.
I am 6 foot 2 so my feet hung over the edge of our bed, but I slept okay since I was tired from climbing the stairs to our room with no elevator access. All in all this hotel is okay for people who are great at seeing the bright side of any situation.
I was here for a class in the conference center. We were in a fairly standard partitioned ballroom. I liked that there was fresh fruit and water in the lobby.
Ok just consider this This is a very dated hotel that will cost you $200 /night , awful pool area, dirty cesspool of bacteria, feels muggy inside, gyms equipment is old and rusted and the king bed is so uncomfortable you will wake up feeling 2X tired due to fatigue and back pain cause by the horrible mattress. Only good thing Well I'll get back to it if I ever remember anything.
Save yourself some grief and spend a little more and check in to Marriott or even La Quinta hotel will feel like a luxury compared to this hotel
This is a surprisingly nice hotel, although you might not be able to tell from the exterior. It looks like a drab, tan-colored box on the outside, without a lot of landscaping to spruce it up. In other words it looks pretty basic. However, when you get inside you find it's kind of fancy and nicely appointed. It features nice lighting and faucet fixtures, and nice bedding as well. The staff are all friendly and helpful. I would call this a hidden treasure of a hotel (travel inn).
Twice over 5 years I have had to stay here because of a soccer trip for my kids and it has been a distinctly awful experience both times. First, they flat out refuse to allow you to check in early by even a few minutes and when their 4PM check in time does come around, they pretend that they need to check with housekeeping to ensure that your room is clean despite a check out time of 12PM. The rooms themselves lack basic things like refrigerators or microwaves. Calls to the front desk for any issues take upwards of an hour to be responded to. Some rooms have Sleep number beds and some have Sleep Number toppers but it doesn't matter because out of four different beds in two different rooms, none of them ever worked properly. The TV remote in one room barely worked even after batteries were changed and the cable also had frequent issues. With only a couple of exceptions (the gentleman working the breakfast area in the morning this most recent stay was amazing) the staff is slow, unhelpful, deceitful, and even rude. Not one parent across two completely different teams and trips had a single good thing to say about this hotel. Additionally, the parents (my wife and I included) from this most recent trip are actively communicating with our soccer club and local organization to get this hotel removed from those used for future trips to the Kansas City area.
Spacious, clean rooms. Friendly staff. On site bar and pool. Breakfast buffet is one of the better hotel buffets I've had (and I travel a lot). Floor plan is slightly confusing, but that's just a minor nit picky thing. Love staying at this hotel, conveniently located and easy to get to.
