i rescued a black pitbull from their county and certified him as a therapy service dog. he was abused pretty heavily and had issues peeing as soon as you would approach him. i immediately took this dog and went to the vet he was in very good health and was clearly going to be a special dog. the shelter helped me with the neutering and tagging and the vet helped me with other things unrelated. i still have the dog 3 1/2 years later. he is a big cuddle bug and sleeps in bed with me every night on pillows instead of a hard concrete floor. although some staff were a bit unfriendly most of them were very helpful and fine to work with and had the appropriate medical staff to keep the animals in optimal cost health until i could rescue and get him a full work up at a vet hospital.

My boyfriend and I went there and when we walked in the girl at the front desk had her headphones and looked miserable. We weren't greeted or anything. We went back to look at the dogs and we found one we liked. I went to the front desk and the girl still had her headphones in, she made it seem like I was interrupting her listening to her music by the sigh and eye roll that was made as she took her headphones out. She told me the dog we were interested in was already taken. Maybe a sign indicating he was taken already would've helped. Workers and volunteers at PAWS in Dearborn county Indiana and Boone county animal shelter are always friendly and eager to help. They actually look and act like they enjoy what they do.
