I had an oil change coupon for $14.99. When I went to pay, the amount was $34.91. The rude guy behind the counter said oil prices went up. The coupon didn’t state that the amount could change depending on price that I had nothing to do with. I had to pay $20.00 more than I expected. The rude guy told me I could go to other places if I wasn’t happy. DO NOT GO THERE FOR ANY SERVICES! There needs to be a law against price gouging.
It was a joke. I was in parking lot with employees for two hours past open. Don't know if they open. I left upset. It was my anniversary day.
Yikes! Scammers abroad. Look for someone else, they lie about what needs fixing and overcharge by hundreds.
I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Lyn, who worked on my daughter’s brakes and took the extra time after hours to finish the job. He also took the time to walk her through how to put the fluids in her car. He really went out of his way and we appreciate his generosity and hard work. It didn’t go unnoticed. Thanks again!
Felt a little shady and they'll definitely try to up sell you something. Receptionist was not very welcoming.
I come here for my oil changes every time it's needed. The wait time is ridiculously mind blowing but, as a student, you learn the importance of saving money! Other than the wait time, the desk clerk is mostly friendly and accommodating.
Took our car to Calvert's on Wednesday because we found a coupon for new brakes with service for $60. After James looked over the car for a moment, he determined that the coupon did not apply to the cars needs and that it would actually cost $587 for new brakes. The car is a 2001 Chevy. But we need brakes, so he asked for $100 to order the part. After leaving (near closing time) and discussing it, we decided not to go forward with the repairs. Called back the next morning when they opened to notify them that we would not be using them for repairs and was notified that we could not get our $100 back. The part had not been ordered and, even if it had, auto repair shops return parts ALL THE TIME. I called back again to ask James what exactly the $100 was for if the repairs were not going to be done AND we could not collect the part. He said that it was for ordering the part. Now I've never worked at an auto shop, but in other companies where frequent orders/shipments are being made, the company DOES NOT pay for individual shipping. I'm certain this is the case at Calvert's, but they're business practices are obviously crooked. After writing reviews to warn potential customers NOT TO DO BUSINESS HERE, I am going to file a complaint with Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley and urge anyone who has suffered loss of hard earned money for no reason to Calvert's. Thieves should not be tolerated and handled by the proper authorities.
Bad customer service! The front desk person acted as if it was an inconvenience that I was there for an oil change even though I called ahead to see how late do they take customers and was told 530 which I was there right at 5pm. Had to wait until she was done doing what she was doing before she got my name and vehicle info. She asked me 2 different times if I had been there before and I responded. Had I not had a coupon I would have left right then. After she gave my keys to the guys she kinda just disappeared into the back or wherever. They brought my keys in and I was ready to pay and leave but had to wait even longer because whatever she was doing was obviously more important than helping a customer. Finally, after almost 10minutes, the mechanic came in and said I was all set to go and started to ring me up, my coupon had not been deducted so he kindly took care of it, thanked me, and sent me on my way. Will NOT return to this location.
I had a free oil change coupon for my birthday, since the Olathe location closed I had to go all the way to this location. When I arrived the person working told me I had to get synthetic so it will cost me $54 and some change. I asked him for conventional and he told me couldn't do that based on my car, I have always gotten conventional. I called the mgmt in Lenexa who said I should be able to get conventional and that the district manager would call me within 24hrs. No one has called me. I went to Jiffy Lube and they did an excellent job. Calverts has officially lost my business.
I called to ask about oil change woman said yes come on in, I explained was driving from Olathe. Drove across City I get there she says can't today. Don't trust this location!
They didnt understand what my girlfriend was asking for. She asked for the same thing they did to her kia which cost 0$ to give it a look over on there free break inspections. They tried to charge me 80$ to just check why the light was on (orielys does it free I wanted the tires checked also on my newer cars why I brought it in). Manager was really rude and basicaly didnt care that there was a mistake and said I couldnt have my car till I paid (I did not pay still got my car). Manager in raytown was helpful when I called to complain and got corps number to file a complaint. As of now I will never visit there location now and wouldnt trust them to work on a tricycle.
My experience was great! The office was extremely busy as soon as they opened at 7:30 am. Several people opted to wait on their vehicles, including myself. I felt like the manager and the administrative assistant at the front desk did everything in their power to get each one of us in and out as soon as possible. The staff was friendly, courteous and professional. The final price was exactly what I had been quoted the day before. I will definitely take my car back for more maintenance. I've already told people that I know about my experience, and I will continue to tell people. Thanks Calvert's on Shawnee Mission Parkway!
Long waiting periods and don't pre tell you that economy breaks will squeek. They might as well not even sell them. The receptionist was nice.
At my old location this wasn't a problem. Here however BE WARNED if you are using the coupon it's for 5W30. They will say, " you want to go with the 5W20 on that?". And you will say yes because oil is oil. It's not. My $20 oil change became $31. Buyer beware. I found that incredibly deceitful.
I needed a tire and they were able to get me in and out for a pretty good price.
Fast ya, but its beacuse no ones there and i see why. dude couldn't even wait till the door was close to start talking about me after i didnt take there bs price, i would take him up on matching a price but dont trust them, Don't go inless you breakdown in front of them, but may i suggest getting out and pushing your car some where else
Man this place is a joke . If I could be honest there is no way in hell I would ever recommend taking there viehical here. After they got rid of there best master tech Eddie the place is a wash. Best prices? Get the hell out of here. Dishonest only in it for the money type pricks you might as well brake down before giving them your whole savings. Never seen anything like it in my 12 years in the industry
I really like the Calvert's Express on Rodgers Road. They always work me in and try to save me time and money. They only fix what I need fixing and only suggest what might need looking at next time.
The Calvert's Express on Shawnee Mission really upset me. I came in for an oil change and tire rotation. The manager came back and told me my car needed all new tires and needed new breaks all the way around. I change my own brake pads and get it all done about $45 a wheel. He ofcorse said it will cost $59.99 per wheel, which saved me @ $15.00 x four ($60).
The parts are extremely high and I had a dog run out in front of us after just spending over 500.00 at Calvert having my breaks done and what happensa cylinder gets blown and the mechanic said it would cost me another 355.00 for brake drum, cylinder, and shoe. Then to top it off my starter went out and they charged me another 256.00 but it is very hard to start now and most people besides me can't even start it and my brake light was still on when I picked it up after them fixing my brakes. Not sure what one can do about it tho. The mechanics are very nice and I don't believe they work on things that don't need it but you will pay big big for parts.
