Amazing!! The Best dim sum in the entire Chicagoland area. With so many options, it's a new experience every time.

Poor service, acceptable food. My experience was most tainted by the fact that the first item we ordered, it is out. The second item we tried order in place of it is also out. Then we ordered a third, which has a menu price of 15 ish? And the server came back in a couple minutes and notified us it is actually 26 ish dollars. Really? I am obviously not very pleased

I can't begin to elaborate how awful this place is. Firstly, their food is so inconsistent. After giving this place so many chances, there has never, ever, been a redeeming factor. This restaurant is very popular for Chinese weddings, so majority of the time that I'm there, it's for that sole reason. If I had the choice to not go, I would rather not. Secondly, Cai is probably one of, if not, the most expensive Dim Sum places in Chinatown. For such prices, you would assume better service, which isn't the case. Thirdly, their layout/floor-plan, lacks any consideration for people to get up and move. Tables are squished so tightly together, everyone might as well be sitting at one large communal table. Overall, I honestly do not recommend coming to this place unless you have a very close friend or relative, whose wedding you must attend, at which point, you have my sincerest condolences.

Great place to order dim sum, very busy so arrive at least 1/2 hour before you want to start eating. When the food arrives, you'll be able to tell why it's so full all of the time! A good rule of thumb is in a large group, 2-3 dim sum dishes per person and everyone will leave full and happy.

We came here for an event so we were able to modify the restaurant a little (made gender neutral restrooms, moved some tables, had a DJ and dance floor). The food was fine; the eggplant flavor was great, the egg drop soup a little runny with not much egg, the mushroom and spinach had too much oil, and our rice/noodles somehow came out last. Weird because rice/noodles are the central component to a chinese meal. But overall, they were great about letting us host an event and helped us pack food up to go!

For dim-sum & dinner, this is decent spot with fair prices & nice decor. Good spot to take out of town friends to. They are located on the 2nd floor & it's not handicap accessible though. If you're looking for a wedding venue, this place looks nice, but the catering manager is pushy if you don't speak fluent Chinese. Not the greatest experience, but the food turned out great.

This is by far the best dim sum restaurants in Chinatown. the service wasn't that great which is the only reason I docked one star, they forgot a few items on our order. It was busy and food took some time but it was so worth it.

You win some, you lose some, you Dim Sum. The motto of my life and Cai cafe spares no expenses on providing a great Dim Sum experience. The venue is beautiful decorated with plenty of seating. But don't let all that seating fool you, it can get taken up fast usually during the golden brunching hours of 11am to 1pm.
If the dim sum menu seems overwhelming, they do offer entree items. I say if you're feeling fancy free get both an entree and some Dim Sum, you can't lose with a fried rice and dumpling combo.
I'm going to recommend the Chicken Feet cause I like it a lot and I don't care who knows! Don't judge me!response / report this review -

Great selection of dimsum and quality was good. We came in Fri. morning and the place was super busy, but we managed to get seated right a way. The service was fast and our food came out pretty fast as well. Do not expect typical American dining service here, order your drinks and food and then you will be left alone for you whole meal. It's too hectic for them to check on you every 10 min. This is what I prefer so don't have a problem with it at all.

Parking lot across the street. 2 dollars for 3 hours parking if you get parking validated at this restaurant. Food is great. Busy on weekends. Expect to wait for a table. Waiting area is too small and can get uncomfortably crowded. Pretty noisy.

Get the steamed egg custard buns (part of the dim sum menu)! They are light and fluffy and sweet and chewy and little puffs of heaven. Great as part of a dim sum meal or as a takeout snack/dessert to eat while exploring Chinatown.

Love this place. One of the more authentic places that serves good food for a reasonable price. Food always comes hot but also edible. Have been here for dim sum several times and has not disappointed us. Also has the hustle and bustle vibes during the weekend which is expected for a good dim sum place.
