Food and service fantastic. Slammin calamari and deadly chicken marsala. Family agreed it's a solid 4.5 stars. Would go again
My wife and I stopped at Caffe Espresso recenyly to have a couple of drinks, as we had done many times before. We have also enjoyed dinner there on several occasions. We normally had good experiences in the past. For some reason, on this night, we were refused service. It was blatant. Not only were we kept waiting, but we also were completely ignored. As if we were invisible. I am an African-American man and my wife is Caucasian. I hold short of labeling the reason for this treatment, but I could only fathom one. I have never been that embarrassed by a place of business in my life. Their message was clear. They accomplished their objective, I will never set foot in there again. Please know that the one star rating is a negative one.
We have been here a few times before and the food has always been excellent. Each time we go, however, the wait for our food gets longer and longer. Our last trip here was frustrating because we (2 of us) waited an hour and a half for a few appetizers and salads. The waitstaff was apologetic because the kitchen was "really behind" because of a few larger tables. The place only had a few full tables about halfway through our experience, so to me it seemed a little ridiculous that the rest of the restaurant waited so long. The table next to us seemed to have the same experience, as their waitress apologized as well. They didn't charge us for one appetizer because we waited so long, which was nice, but the overall experience was still frustrating.
