Food was good- but service was absolutely awful. We were completely ignored by our waiter Pedro. I was surprised we even got our food, and certainly no follow up to see how everything was and offer more beverages or dessert. We went up to the hostess to pay (he never came by to bring our check) and he seemed very mad that we had walked up. This guy needs to go, even the hostess acknowledged that he is a terrible waiter when we mentioned it. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, the only saving grace is that the food was pretty good.

An authentic Italian restaurant in Little Italy. There are so many attractive Italian dishes by American size at reasonable price. So we can enjoy with friends and family for a long time. Furthermore, they list up great variety of Californian wines.

Called a last minute reservation and we were accommodated quickly. Amazing and courteous customer service. The staff was attentive and friendly. So happy with the service and food is outstanding! Was out with 5 people, ordered different dishes and everyone loved their food!

Stopped in for dinner on a recent trip to San Diego and the place was packed on a Tuesday nightusually a good indicator for me that it's worth stopping in. We were seated promptly and enjoyed fresh bread with a spicy tomato dipping sauce. At the reccomendation of the waiter my boyfriend and I both ordered specials off of their weekly menu. SO good. The pasta was fresh, the seafood was delicious and my water glass wasn't empty the whole time thanks to their diligent staff. I would return again any time I am in San Diego.

After exploring the area by the bay, we chose this place random. It's a cozy little restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating. We were able to get a table for two right away. We received some bread with great little bowl of tomato garlic puree for dipping. Our orders arrived pretty quickly. The food was pretty good. It's a nice little restaurant that I'd probably visit again if I'm ever in the area.

Still my number one favorite restaurant in a part of town with a lot of competition. The food here is outstanding and the service is excellent. The atmosphere is kind of tight, but I imagine it's that way because so many people want to eat here and they want to accommodate all of them. Still, usually don't have a problem getting seated.

It's hard to recommend anything on the menu since I've had a lot of things and it was all good.

A quaint little restaurant in the heart of San Diego's little Italy. We enjoyed the outside seating area, which is a little cramped but allowed us to talk with others sitting nearby. The service was great, as was the food. The prices were reasonable and the wine list had good variety. Overall a great little place!

A great Italian restaurant. Small but they have sitting area outside and not door. Very clean, wait staff professional and helpful explaining menu. Selection of wines and after dinner ports is good as well as their deserts. Parking is a premium but if you are resourceful you can find parking just dow.n the street in public parking.

Great food with good proportions. Very nice staff and well priced. My only real issue with the restaurant is that it was really crowded. The tables were placed very close together and it was really really hard to hear anybody including the wait staff. I couldn't hear the person sitting across the table from me. Really good food you can tell it's busy often we were there on a Thursday night and it was very crowded. But there was no wait.

An exceptional restaurant with impeccable Italian cuisine. The complimentary bread and sauce was perfect, the wine was exquisite and finally the ravioli with spinach and cheese was savoury.. like a warm hug .. Truly savoured every bite. And an honourable mention must go to the staff who work together like a well trained sports team, watching, listening, passing, assisting.. No better team players have I seen for some time. Truly a great atmosphere with impeccable food. Thank you for a great dining experience.

Our waiter was fantastic and very attentive, food was fresh and came out very quickly. Highly recommend the chocolate mousse cake.

They did have 80s rock playing which didn't really fit the vibe of the restaurant. Still not sure what the intent was there.

I enjoyed this place but it wasn't what I expected it to be.

The bread & dip they give to you before your meal is amazing! Very tasty.

The lasagna I got was mediocre. It could have had more flavor to it, it was a bit too bland for me. But I would definately give this place another try & choose something else next time.

The drinks were good, actually the best I've had in a long time. Will be back soon!

My favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego! I used to go there every other week when I lived there, and I make it a point to get dinner whenever I'm back in SD. The lasagna is the best I've had. Even the marinara sauce that come with the bread is amazing. I've never eaten anything there that wasn't exceptional.

Delicious Italian food in the heart of Little Italy. From the warm bread and dipping sauce (with a little kick to it) to the house salad & penne pasta my wife and I loved this place. It was pricey enough that we each ordered a salad and elected to share an entree. But the food was amazing and the portions were generous. Well worth it! We will definitely visit again next time we're in San Diego!

I spent the first 24 years of my life enjoying some of the best Italian food while living in NJ and NYC. Once I moved to San Diego it was tough finding a replacement for my family run joints I once frequented. Buon Appetito was the first Italian restaurant where the food felt homemade and authentic to what I grew up with. Set in a cozy, slightly dim lit atmosphere this is a great place to bring a date or family for some feel good Italian dishes. The prices are fair, wine selection was on point and the staff was a pleasure to be around. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some great pasta dishes. I enjoyed the chicken with eggplant.
