The menu looked wonderful, although missing hush puppies and beignets, so as I ordered my Shrimp Po Boy I was planning what I would order my next visit. I asked if there was something other than fries, and our waiter said, anything below the line - without saying there was an up charge. To be honest the items had a add on charge, but not a substitute charge. The Po Boy arrived, looking delicious. An adequate number of medium size shrimp. Unfortunately, the last bite was as tasteless as the first. The shrimp batter was hard, not crisp, with no seasoning, so salt, spice, nada. Adding salt and the hot sauce on the table helped but not enough for me to go back. Yes, I ate the sandwich mostly because I was tired, hungry and was in the middle of a long trip. Just no energy to quibble. The beans and rice were enjoyable. The jalepeno cornbread smelled of jalapeno, tasted sweet, no kick.

Decent interior setup, a bit tight between tables, good service and decent Louisiana food. You should try their cornbread, I'm normally not a fan but I like their cornbread a lot! This place deserves four star easily.

Our favorite sport in San Diego! It is fairly laid back, service is fantastic and the food Oh, the food! It is different to what you can find elsewhere. New-Orleans/ French cuisine with quality products. And the catfish! I had it once and stick to it every time. The Blackened Catfish St Charles is a pure delight. I cannot recommend it enough. The restaurant is not awesomely located; a bit in the middle of nowhere but it definitely is worth the drive there :)

My wife and I really enjoyed dining here. This was our first visit, will not be our last! I had the Taste of New Orleans with soft shell crab AND the fried catfish. So good I can taste it just by thinking about it. My wife had the grits with chicken. She ate it all , which is really saying a lot because she never does that. Overall great experience , from the staff to the ambiance everything was nice.

Absolutely amazing ! I got the Mardi gras pasta and it was SO good. It was full of flavor and They didn't skimp out on the fish either. If you're a sweet tea snob like me and just make your own, these guys now how to do it right. Very pleased with my experience. Our server (Christie)was also amazing and took great care of us. Next time I have to save room for dessert because it looked really good.

Gumbo is good. Beignets and Coffee are delicious! My husband grew up in Lafayette, LA and felt the food was not as spicy/authentic as you would have there. But for us non-NOLA folks, its pretty darn good. Our server was Christie, and service was great.

This may be the gold standard for Cajun food in San Diego. I've tried many things on the menu and nothing disappointed me. Very good food.

Great change of pace. Location is very peaceful at night as neighbor businesses are closed. All food is tasty.

Been coming here for a few years. Tucked away in an area you wouldn't expect to find a restaurant. Have tried a number of items on the menu and haven't been disappointed with any of my choices. Service is friendly. Seating is at small tables; recommend making reservations if you have more than 2 people in your party. Takeout was quick when I've used it for lunch orders.

Worst tasting crawfish ever. Had some sort of chemical taste! Lot of the 2.5 lb bucket when peeled were gray outside of the meat. Some lots of black at underside of shell. Couldn't eat them, had to quit. Ugh! Don't get the fresh boiled!

Wonderful experience of this Cajun food restaurant, Authentic food and great atmosphere and service! Love the beignets but too bad they did not have coffee to go with, hope they can have coffee to go with beignets soon!

I was born and raised in Lafayette Louisiana, the heart and soul of Cajun cooking. Bud's cooking is authentic. We love this place, same consistency each and every time, "great food, great service, reasonably price."

Love Buds! They have the best Cajun Louisiana food in the area. Call for a reservation as they are popular. The service is always perfect and the food is delicious. We have gone to Bud's for years and never had a less than perfect meal.

They are really good. I got a catfish po' boy and it was delicious. The Bread was spot on and the catfish was moist, tender and flavorful. The hot sauce on the table was great too! Had the fried pickles instead of fries And they were probably the best I've had. My friend got the new Orleans special, it looked really good! The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxing. Came in at noon on a weekday, they were busy but didn't have to wait more than 5 minutes for a table.
