  Nice park with picnic area and a small beach. Went there for watching total solar eclipse unplanned. Met some really nice people.

  I will remember Broyles Recreation Area for the rest of my life. My family saw the August, 2017 total eclipse here and it was one of the most amazing things we've ever seen. We live about an hour+ south of there near Athens, GA. I blindly picked this place on Google Maps because it was near the center of the totality, just off I85, and was a public park. We met our Atlanta relatives and friends there and were blown away when we got there. Plenty of free parking, lots of picnic tables in the shade, the lake water levels were very low due to dam maintenance but it was still nice and beach-side. The bathrooms were very clean and there were lots of trashcans. Lots of very nice people from all over eventually showed up who'd also picked this spot on Google maps like us. We got to see the full totality although two minutes before or after, it would have been covered by trees. It was celestial and other-worldly.

  Way too many things to get caught on when fishing from the dock. The beach/Play area seems like it's never kept clean. Always tons of trash in the sand on the beach.

  This is a nice triple boat ramp central to Lake Hartwell with facilities. The day we were there were three fishing tournaments going out of Broyles. The volume did not slow things down and there was ample parking for everyone.

  You can reserve the covered pavilion for only $50 for the entire day! It has electricity, running water, a large charcoal grill & awesome lake views. Swim beach, playground, men and women's rest rooms. I do lots of elopements and small weddings here ;) Brenda Owen | The WeddingWoman
