I stayed there for 3 days, i was there for my cousins wedding on Mackinac Island. A very nice view i had from my room of the lake and Mackinac Bridge. A clean Hotel so was my room. Front desk clerks were friendly and helped me with any questions i had. I would stay again.
The staff was awesome. They were very helpful. The 1st room we were in had a half eaten donut on the floor. The 2nd room we were in (we chose to move to a lakeside room) had a plugged bathtub and broken door lock (maintenance did take care of those right away). The sliding door was hard to lock and the wifi never did work right on any of our electronics. The area was amazing tho. The breakfast was very good.
Would give 0 stars if I could & still write a review. We stayed here 3 nights and on the last day found out there were Bedbugs in our room! Manger wasn't there & we were told that we would be contacted. The next day, after have to spend upwards of $500 to try and insure that nothing followed us home, including my whole family having to enter our home nude & shower right away, after a long trip, vacuumed & bombed our car, bag everything that was with us& then spend the entire next day at the laundry mat washing and drying everything on high heat that then wrecked several articles of clothing including my children's new coats. I had to call the manger & I was never contacted & then was told it was the nature of the business & he was going to do nothing to compensate for the issue! This is absolutely ridiculous & I will be contacting the health department!
Stayed with the family in Sept 2017. I am giving this hotel 2 stars in hopes that management will listen and step up their game :-) It is a beautiful new hotel but very dirty Water park dirtyWindows dirtygame room has never been vacuumed..very sad if they put a little TLC into it..it would of been great..my boys loved it because they didn't know any better..There were spiders in the hot tub ..something that looked like human waist next to the hot tub in the water park.kids pool had dirt floating..dust everywhere. Like I said beautiful hotel but very dirty..Great breakfast bar. I do not plan to stay there again.
We only stayed one night in this hotel. The location was a bit out of town but still about a 2 minute drive into the town. Upon arriving to our room, we noticed that the room was quite small and also handicap accessible. Some of the appliances were a little outdated but I believe they are in the process of replacing them, which was nice to see. As for the view, on the bay side the view is great. You have a great view of the Mackinac Bridge and it makes the hotel more inviting to stay in.
This hotel was over crowded and just dirty. We booked online a month in advance. When we arrived. We got the room right across from the front desk. It was so loud we could hear every world of every conversation at the desk. The beach is a joke. There is grass covered with pigeon feathers. Then there is a small stretch of beach sand. People are on top of each other due to the limited space. Breakfast is on the third floor. After climbing all the filthy stairs. We notice the breakfast room over looked the indoor waterpark. It was chair to chair " like a chain" of sitting room only. This place is awful We requested a different room since we had a beach view but couldn't open our slider curtains because if we did everyone crowded on the beach would be able to look directly into our room. After speaking to the manager Dan who told us sure we can move you but we are still going to charge you as a beach front view. Which is almost $300 a night. To make a long story short. We didn't stay. The place just opened and it's already run down. The staff are unprofessional and poorly trained. Sorry i didn't take pictures. I wish I would have. The photo's they advertise are nothing like what you get.
I am beyond livid. We booked my sister's wedding party here. They separated us. They told us we didn't specify we wanted to be together and had us on separate floors! REALLY?!? Who does that?? We're a wedding party! When I asked about it, they could care less! "We're booked" was their reply. No apologies. NOTHING! Next, the SMELL! IT'S HORRID! STRONG MUSTY MOLD! The cost is WAAAYYYY overpriced and you don't get pool amenities unless you stay a second night. We asked for late check-out as we were up until 4 am cleaning up after wedding and we were still awoken by staff. When I mentioned we asked for late wake up she gave a snotty sigh. When we tried calling 8 TIMES to see if we could have late check-out NO ONE EVER TOOK OUR CALL. NOT ONCE! We had to go downstairs. Breakfast was sub par. Your run of the mill, everyday same old, regular breakfast all hotels serve. We were to be given a discount for booking as a group and it didn't show up upon arrival. We were told it's supposed to be taken off upon departure. I'm not holding my breath. Checking out now. Guess it did discount.
Bill was $149. Seriously, save your money
At that price, no pool and all this, what a joke! On a minor note hope you love taking the stairs. Personally, I don't really mind.
Breakfast is top floor. Elevator runs extremely slow even without any traffic. If you are physically disabled, you're going to be spending a lot of time waiting. I wouldn't give them ANY stars if that was an option. Furthermore, let me tell you, I am a VERT POSITIVE PERSON! I'm ALWAYS the FIRST to point out the positive in ANY given situation and give people and situations the benefit of the doubt. This place DOES NOT DESERVE THAT PERIOD! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!
It was a nice stay, we were on a family vacation and it was the perfect hotel for us! Great breakfast and great service! Only thing was the water park was packed but that's obviously not the hotels fault
The room was nice and clean I like the log cabin feel. The room layout was awkward, the fridge being in the cabinet seemed like a fire hazard and took up the entire closet space for any hanging clothing. The bathroom was worn down, and the toilet paper dispenser was in a really awkward place. The room itself I would have given it a higher rating. The hallways often smelled of smoke (not the cigarette kind either) and there was dirt/sand everywhere. We stayed here as part of a high school field trip and when one of the students needed a plunger they were told to come down and get it themselves. After they did this and unclogged the toilet, the toilet overflowed when they called down for help they were told they are working on it. It eventually got cleaned after several hours! The "water park" was on the small side and seemed in need of a very thorough deep clean, visible build up of grime and dirt on many of the fixtures such as the ropes, slides and stairs. The breakfast buffet was gross!! Their was little to no items containing protein, the amount of items was lacking and the eating area was not very clean. It was so bad we elected to buy breakfast the next day!
Giving this hotel a one star is pushing it. They claim they are "pet friendly" and by no means they are. We left the room to go upstairs to get breakfast the first day and were called while coming back down because our dogs were barking. Our room was five doors down from main check in, so yes maybe the dogs barked by hearing passerby's. We spent the rest of the day touring the city and traveling to the U. P. Next morning while my husband went upstairs to get breakfast, I was locked out the room with my nineteen month old. I went upstairs to get the key from him to get back in and was met at our room by the "General Manager" raised voice telling me to never leave my dogs in the room unattended. I tried to explain to him what happened as my child in tow, and he started yelling with a pointed finger in my face to "Listen to me!" I told him multiple times to not talk to me that way and asked him what to do while i was locked out and my husband was trying to get breakfast.. He told me to lock the dogs in the car.. I was not going to lock my dogs in a car. He then proceeded to yell that he was not allowed to bring food down to me. So not only can I eat their breakfast without locking my dogs in a car but I couldn't supervise watching them and eat in my room. If this was an 80-90 degree day, they really expect me lock my dogs in a car so we can eat breakfast? At 11oclock at night when kids were running the hallways and screaming and I had to call on that they did nothing about it. The way I was spoken to by this "General Manager" was uncalled for and disrespectful. We decided to cut our time there short and did not stay the whole weekend and traveled 6 hours back home. I will NEVER recommend this hotel to any animal loving family. If you do go, be prepared to leave your dog in a car no matter the temperature or weather.. They don't care.
Room was very nice, had in room jacuzzi as well as tub in bathroom. Great view of the lake. Too chilly to enjoy the beach and porch but that's no fault of the facility. Staff was super polite. I've been a hotel desk clerk myself, so I know what to look for. I was impressed. I'll stay next year.
