Took truck in to Boniface-Heirs Chrysler Dodge to get it diagnosed. Got a call from service manager, Ross, stating he wasn't sure but thought it was the timing chain and said it would cost 700 dollars to remove the front of engine to know for sure. Told me it would be best to go ahead and replace the engine completely for approx 6000 dollars for used or 8000 for rebuilt. When I questioned Ross and his mechanic about doing other tests he said they were sure it was the timing chain that had broke. But there is no clanking sound when the engine tries to start. I'm no expert at engines but I'm no idiot either. I only know basic mechanics that's why I took it to dodge to get it diagnosed and they couldn't definitively tell me what was wrong with my truck. The diagnostic fee is approx 109 dollars which is money down the drain because I still don't know the problem with my truck. Additionally I have to have my truck towed to another mechanic to see if I can find out what's wrong with my truck not to mention the cost of a rental.
Honesty flows easily and naturally. The answers to my questions I got from Mechanic and Ross were riddled with inconsistencies and half truths. This is part of the reason I don't trust mechanics and the reason they have that reputation.
Very disappointing!!!

I just moved to Florida and this is my first car repair since moving to the area. I had a check engine light come on with my Jeep Wrangler. I called Boniface to set up an appointment and they got me in right away. Dropping off the car was very fast with the service department and they even provided shuttle service back to my house and picked me up to drive me back when it was finished. Bob the shuttle driver is a super nice guy and very easy to talk to and hold a conversation. Very nice instead of sitting in an awkward silence. Everyone was nice to deal with from the service writer, shuttle driver and even the cashier. I will be coming back for future service.
I’ve been taking my vehicles to Boniface Hiers Chrysler for years now, mostly because they were close to where I lived. Well this is the last time as I always have problems. Having an extended warranty on my 2014 Ram 3500, with a $100 deductible I end up being charged almost $225, including $30 for “misc shop supplies” which must be a fleecing for Boniface customers as extended warranties apparently don’t cover that or tax. I’ve used this warranty before and paid $100 deductible and that was it. The other charges included a $54 inspection where they didn’t find anything other than supposedly my new tires need replaced. When I asked Ross the service advisor “what could have damaged the tires?” Ross told me that tires on a 2014 Ram 3500 dually only last 15,000 miles which I know to be false but the tires only have a few thousand miles on them regardless. Since they are new tires with a tire warranty I was going to try and resolve it with them but Ross only offered to sell me some new ones. This wouldn’t be such a big deal except last time I was there he charged me 2 hours labor for remove 2 bolts from the grille guard to replace a headlight under factory warranty. Every time I go in for work I go to the cashier and there are charges I never agreed to and/or are bogus. They seem to know very little about diesel trucks as well as the last time I had the tires rotated they flipped my Alcoa rims inside out on the unfinished side. It’s fairly well known that when rotating dually tires they have to be remounted and the rims stay in the same position. Needless to say I will be finding another shop to go to after several disappointing service appointments at Boniface Hiers Chrysler Dodge Ram!
Your sales person was very knowledgeable about the 3 vehicles that I
looked at. He was very polite and he listened carefully to make sure that he understood my needs (or desires). I did not feel any pressure in an effort to make me decide to make a purchase.
I was extremely happy with my buying experience and could not have been happier with my sales person Bobby Keeley. He is very customer oriented and there is no pushing you into anything.
Great service as always. I've been coming to this service center for about 10 years. Their hospitality and service is always on point. They are always mindful of your time spent there when waiting on your vehicle. If you do feel like you've been forgotten about, its never a problem to check on the status on your vehicle at the service desk. Pretty much every employee that passes says hello or at least acknowledges you. I really like the upgrade to the customer waiting area. It's much more comfortable now and even more professional looking. I often find myself chatting with another customer to pass the time. If you don't want to wait, they have a free shuttle. Just ask.
Warranty forever really doesn't mean warranty forever. My car was acting up and I took it to be checked out. it took 2 days for someone to call and tell me what was wrong with my car. I have been keeping up with all of my maintenance for my vehicle. Only to be told that the part I needed was not covered under my warranty. But all is not lost a really nice manager worked with me to get the cost down. He is the only reason why I've decided to give 4 stars.
I purchased a 2014 Ram 1500 Certified pre-owned and not even a month later the fuel sensor goes out. I took it in, apparently on the last day of the factory warranty (just found that out through Dodge), and they told me the truck was no longer under warranty (they lied). I trusted them to be upfront and honest and they weren't. So I was charged $550 dollars to replace that part. Not until I was speaking with fellow dodge owners about the situation that they told me I should reach out to Dodge. So I did and even they were flabbergasted about what I told them. Every other dealership I have dealt with would fix an issue like that for free since it was a brand new purchase, but they won't. This will be the last time I take my vehicle there for anything service related, as well, myself, along with my friends and family will never shop with any Boniface-Heirs Dealership again. To end on a positive note, Bob my shuttle driver for them, if I could give him alone 5 stars I would. He was very sociable and a true sight of how the company should run.
DO NOT BUY A CAR HERE!
This review is late but passing the place made me think of leaving it. This dealership took advantage of a 93 year old WW2 VET! 6,000 down and 480 a month for a Van with only 10,000 miles? I drive a Lexus is350 50,000+ dollar car and I put 1,500 down my payments are 320 a month 12,000 miles a yearmuch nicer car and half the payments????!?!!!!
How these sales people sleep at night is beyond me (ED I believe was the salesman)
Anyone with older parents or grandparents don't let your family walk in here alone (or at all for that matter)
STAY AWAY! the stereotypical car salesmen work here and they don't care much about the people just how much commission they will get.
Whoever owns this dealership should be embarrassed for taking advantage of a vet who served this country! Only to turn around and rip him off!
DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!
Whenever I need service for my vehicle they are there for me. Quick efficient a also handle my car with care. I know when I get my car it will run like a dream.
Best Dealership I have ever been to. David Hughes helped me buy my new Challenger Scat Pack and I couldn't be happier. Incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Will return for future buys and recommend to friends/family. Ask for David
I dropped my vehicle off on a Thursday morning to have warranty work performed on it. When I made the service appointment for it, I inquired about the availability of a service loaner vehicle. I was told by the service adviser that loaner vehicles were not offered and he referred me to Enterprise Rental Car. Their rate for a rental vehicle was $35/day plus taxes and fees. I found this to be unacceptable given that fact that a vehicle under the factory 3 year/36000 mile warranty required repair and the customer would have to incur the significant out of pocket expense to have transportation due to a faulty part.
While they were unable to provide a loaner vehicle, they did offer a courtesy shuttle which was able to drive me home, where thankfully I had another vehicle to drive. That other vehicle was a Toyota, which ironically, just the day prior was having a recall performed at Mike Erdman Toyota which is half a mile east of this dealership on 520. I made the appointment and requested a loaner vehicle. On arriving, they promptly got my vehicle checked in and had a loaner vehicle ready and waiting. I was able to continue my day without any inconvenience to me. Within a matter of hours, I received a phone call to inform me my vehicle was ready to be picked up, but there is no rush and to come back any time before closing. When I picked my vehicle up, it had been washed and had the interior vacuumed out.
Now, continuing with Boniface, on Thursday evening I received a call from the service adviser telling me what was wrong with the vehicle and that they did not have the part in stock but they would be able to get it tomorrow (Friday) and have the vehicle finished the same day. The next day rolls around and at about 5:15pm I had not heard anything from the dealer. I called and spoke to the same service adviser from the previous day who informed me that the car was ready to be picked up. I asked them if they could send the courtesy shuttle to give me a ride to come pick my car up. He then stated that the courtesy shuttle driver is only available from 8a-5p and said that they are open from 8a-4p on Saturday and I am welcome to come get the vehicle then. Now on Saturday morning, I call the service department again and requested the courtesy shuttle be sent to pick me up only to be told that it is not available on the weekends. After respectfully voicing my displeasure, the shop foreman was able to find an employee to use the shuttle van to come pick me up. On picking the vehicle up, it had not been cleaned at all. While I am not implying this is a requirement, it goes to show that the customer experience is not high on the priority list compared with Toyota and Ford dealerships I have dealt with in the past.
Overall, I was not happy with my first dealing with the service department at Boniface Hiers Chrysler Dodge. The employees were courteous and my vehicle was repaired satisfactorily, however the communication was poor at best and the lack of loaner vehicles is unacceptable. Had I not had another vehicle available, this lack of communication would have cause me to incur additional inconvenience as well as out-of-pocket expense. If this is common for all Dodge dealer service departments, I will not consider another Dodge or affiliate product in the future when their direct competitors are able to provide a much higher level of service.
Friendly, knowledgeable and efficient staff. Truly enjoy working with each and everyone here. Feel that we are actually getting the best deal available. Unless there are drastic changes, we are Boniface Heirs customers for the long term.
My first visit to your dealership, as I am vacationing here, for an oil change and changing a rear wiper blade. In answer to my question about an oil change, and employee directed me to the inside service counter. When I approached service advisor Ross Smith, he told me to go outside to the wooden desk. At that desk, a sign said to go to the service desk for lube service. Went back to Ross Smith who gave the appearance that lubes dept wasn't his job, but he came out to the wooden desk with me and only wanted my surname for the work order. When I asked if he wanted more information for the work order, he said no, they can find my car with my key fob, and left the work order on the lube desk. The Lube advisor was obviously busy elsewhere, which is understandable, but a service advisor should be able to step in, do the lube work order properly and get the work under way in her absence.. Not a great introduction to the service dept. Something wrong with this "not my job" attitude.
25 minutes later, Elora, a courteous, friendly lady, came looking for me in the waiting room to fill out all the particulars on the work order, and asked me if the service advisor knew that this was my first visit - I said yes.
The oil change took a little longer since your parts dept did not have a rear wiper, so one had to be brought in, but the lube part of the visit was well done, and Elora was quite professional.
Will probably look for another oil change place when visiting, unless I can be sure that Elora will be available.
