The Bonbonerie Cafe is my favorite lunch spot in all of Cincinnati. With a selection of fabulous sandwiches on fresh in-house baked bread, sourcing meats and cheeses from Silverglades and offering seasonal soups and salads for combinations, there is something for everyone, from vegans to reuben lovers. When the weather is nice, the back patio feels like dining in a secret garden. On top of that, they have a wide selection of world class teas and cakes that will convert even the staunchest strictly pie lover. The cafe also serves a nice brunch, and coffee, and includes really nice fruit garnishes on their plates.

First time here, Oh my goodness, just the smells are worth walking in. Ordered 2 Pastry Trays for 2 occasions. They are in for a treat! Worth Every Penny !

Exceptional services as well as beautiful and delicious treats. I ordered 35 Christmas cookies for a work event that were ready same day. And did I mention they were beautiful and delicious?! Highly recommended.

Delicious pastries, cakes and special treats. European style quality and they can tailor to your needs but at a premium price. Parking can be a challenge. Go elsewhere for donuts and coffee but this is one of Your best options in the city for that special occasion.

We decided to use Bonbonerie for our wedding cake and couldn't be happier. They provide an amazing service which allows you to taste the cakes and decide how you would like the cake to be made. We opted for pick up and we accidently took the board. However we weren't hassled and returned it a day or so later. They have wonderful cupcakes as well.

Bonbonerie has, hands down, the best cakes and baked products in Cincinnati. The cakes range from just sweet enough do decadent. No matter the level of sweetness, they are all beautifully decorated. The opera cream torte is their most popular, but I personally prefer the chiffon cakes. As for cookies, my favorite is the Coney island heart, which is a shortbread filled with a jam. The iced cookies range in design from elegant to playful and make perfect gifts. The marzipan is amazing, as are the lemon torts. For the Brit in your life, fresh scones and fresh clotted cream.
Long story short, you will be hard pressed to find a bad dessert, but there are no sugar free options I have ever seen, so diabetics beware.
I can't speak to the taste of the regular food.
I can speak to the serenity and beauty of the outside sitting area, as well as the customer service. I am so glad my friend turned me on to this place last year.response / report this review -

Lovely pastry shop located in a cute building. Pastry are always fresh and good. The carrot cake and caramel brownie are my favorites. Quite tasty. Right now, they have Fiona (hippo) cookies and are giving money to the zoo with the sale of these. They are adorable and go to a good cause. They have parking in front of the building for customers which is good as in this area parking can be a problem.

They are known for their sweets, but on the weekends they have these DELICIOUS spinach and cheese pinwheels. They are served cold and if you can wait until you get home to stick it in the microwave for 7-8 seconds then you will not only get to enjoy the warm buttery flaky cheesey pastry, but you will love me for the suggestion ☺ If you're like me though, you'll eat the whole thing cold on the way to the car so you have time to decide if you want to turn around and run in for another. DON'T FORGET your dessert, because this place never makes me feel guilty for having sweets for breakfast.

When you support the Bonbonerie you are support gender discrimination and child abuse. 9 out of 10 people surveyed about emails she has sent to the victim of child abuse and gender discrimination made a commitment to no longer frequent the Bonbonerie please join us in making the world a safer and better place. Boycott Sharon Butler a supporter of abuse and and crimes against children. Sharon Butler has supported parents hiding college funds from their children based upon their gender to assure they cannot get a college degree. She has supported parents literally stealing from one of their children to pay for the other ones expensive luxuries while leaving them ineligible for the usual financial support. Despite a high gpa and nearly perfect test scores Sharon butler sees the destruction of this persons life based upon gender as acceptable. She has supported violence against the victim of gender discrimination. People who have seen her words consider her to be both dangerous and disturbing to their conscience. If you are a worker and have been the victim of any forms of abuse or witnessed any criminal activity from Sharon Butler you should contact the authorities immediately.
It's as simple as buying your pastries elsewhere to help put an end to child abuse, Sexual abuse and gender discrimination. I guarantee you at least one less person will be stopped from being abused and becoming victimized by child abuse if we all help take a stand. Your simple decision to buy pastries elsewhere will make the world a better place. So give yourself a pat on the back you helped end child abuse. And not like donating a car to cars for kids. Real life altering, what has been described as "the most disgusting lack of conscience" kind of child abuse you can imagine. You, if you said no to the Bonbonerie helped end severe child abuse. Thank you.
Sharon Butler the owner of the Bonbonerie had joined hate groups that commit crimes against the victims of gender discrimination. Most people who read her words want her to be incarcerated. So as not to affect the world. However all it takes is those who are prosocial to join together and end this archaic BS once and for all. Tell Sharon Butler if you want to be a part of an organization that defends human rights violations. Get out of this country because those of us that have had enough are disgusted and ready to take a stand. Help end hate. Help end hate crimes like Sharon's brother commits. Say no to the Bonbonerie say no to child abuse and say goodbye Sharon. I hear this place is incredible. Make sure you arrive before they close, they stick to their hours. Came in at 5:34, door was open. Staff was very apologetic and nice but said they couldn't sell a cake. Told me to go to Busken Bakery instead. I'll try and make it on time next time.

Went for a proper afternoon English tea experience. Rivaled what we got a couple of years ago during a trip to London. Great selection of tea, even better food, presentation was perfect. Went to bakery upstairs afterwards for some take home goodies. Only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is because upon arriving and letting them know I was there a few minutes early for an afternoon tea reservation, the red head up front I told went on about her business. Never said ONE word to us as she kept working around us to take care of other issues and clean up and set up tables. Was asked by by another worker moments later as we stood up front and again, was sort of ignored over the course of time. Very strange behavior. I expected to be at least told it would be a couple of minutes cause we arrived early but not a peep. This went on for 10 minutes till we we're seated by someone else. I guess she was having a bad day.

I went for "Afternoon Tea" with a group, but I am low-carb and gluten free. Obviously if I were choosing a place for a group activity, I wouldn't have chosen a bakery. However, I was disappointed that they didn't even have one gluten free option for those with dietary restrictions--even if it still wouldn't have been an option for me. A couple of other things: 1. The menu did not detail what was included on the plate for something simple like tuna salad. I got a large salad with some scoops of tuna salad, but it included many things I couldn't eat and would have excluded had I known to ask for them to not be. 2. The staff should be more knowledgeable about the teas being served. Different teas should steep for different amounts of time. Mine was pretty bad, and I think that was in large part due to it being over-steeped.

This is a really lovely spot. I've been here on many occasions. First, there are a great spot to stop and get coffee. My personal favorite is the non fat honey latte. Just the right amount of sweetness to balance out the delicious coffee.
Second, they are excellent lunch stop. I recommend their gourmet grilled cheese. So good! They also offer some of the most amazing pastries and sweets. This stuff is addicting.
Lastly, they are a really wonderful tea room. They offer a large selection of teas and are very knowledgeable and ready to make recommendations. They offer a high tea that I have ordered on more than one occassion. It's a great idea for a ladies day out or just a nice treat. They serve a three teared plating of tiny finger foods with a pot of the tea of your choice.
