Just had the worst experience ever. I decided to order the food over the phone because the food is good but wait times are crazy. Well when we come to pick up pur food takes them forever to ring out. Get home and its the wrong order. Take it back to get the right food and he burns the fries. My fiance comes out saying that now there are no more fries. So he gives us a bunch of leftover BS. Mozzarella sticks chicken nuggets. No fries. Get home amd we have r burgers two packs of ketchup no fries and I have raw onions on my burger. Raw chopped onions. I ordered grilled onions and mushrooms. Grilled onions come in rings. Absolutely the worst experience ever.
🍔When it comes to Akron, you have 2 legitimate choices for real burgers—either you choose Swenson’s or you choose Bob’s. This was my Dad’s favorite place and I inherited the love.
In August, this tiny griddle establishment turned 86 YEARS OLD, making it Akron's oldest continuously operating restaurant. Since 1931, this spot has been cooking up at the same location, in the same building and — get this — on the very same griddle. "Because that's the original grill, it's got so much seasoning on it that we don't have to put salt and pepper on the burgers," the owner Aimee explains. "Plus, we cook bacon and sausage on the grill every morning. Most people don't even bother adding salt or pepper."
The fact that Food Network’s Guy Fieri hasn’t eaten here for his show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives is an INJUSTICE. I hope to be there the day that he finally does try Bob’s Hamburg.
First time here and loved it. Small inside and don't go if you're in a hurry but the wait is worth it. You can also call ahead for pick up. Highly recommend!
Burgers are super, and shake was really thick and did pay extra to order it that way. Fresh onion rings and fries, and prices are very reasonable. Now have to warn you the place is kind of run down, and you go outside to get to the washroom. But if I lived here it would be my go to place for a burger! !
The everything except the burger was nasty and under cooked. My "fish dinner" and fries taste like old grease and also under cooked. If I had a way to post this fish I definitely would. This place used to be good. Gave me a refund for the fish dinner but not my fries that I also paid for. Not a happy customer
A no-frills, old fashioned diner with great burgers and fries. The burgers don't have any "special" ingredients. Just good, old-fashioned burgers and fresh cut fries.
Warning: when you get there you will wonder if it's at the right place. The building looks very run down and very small. The neighborhood seems very sketchy. To me, that just adds to the ambiance and feel. Once you get inside it is much nicer. I loved it!
I always put fries on any sandwich I get, no matter where it is. I was pleasantly surprised to find they had a burger that already includes the fries on it! It was very good. Not life-changing, but exactly what I want when I think of a good, no-frills burger.
Lastly, the price definitely makes this a no-brainer 5 star. Burgers for $4 or $5! I got a burger, a lot of fries and a milkshake for $10. You could easily get a meal for $6-$7.
Step back in time to diner food that is fresh, tasty and the food looks good. Remember when your burger was hot, juicy meat with a bun that was fresh and fries were real potatoes? Been coming here since a Mickey D opened across the street and then went out of business!
Loved the burgers . Great flavor . The place looks like a sterotypical dive but the food is great . Order ahead at lunch if you don't want to wait a good 30 minutes for your food . But if you have the time go in and sit down . You're bound to have an old fashioned diner expirence . Talk to the locals chat like you did before the internet existed .
This little diner has the best small hamburgers in the world, I contend. By "small hamburger" I mean the kind that you can eat two instead of one. Fries and shakes/malts are also awesome. This place has been there since the 30s. Their grill itself might have been there since then, too. Amazing food, very cheap prices, and it's located right across from the MacDonald's they put out of business. Highly recommended.
Simple ambiance, although lacking in comfort, and basic food. Meat is cooked perfectly, but we were not impressed with the rest of the burgers and sandwiches we got. Onion rings sat in a pool of grease. It's really not that cheap, but definitely would choose over McD's. I feel Bob's have a lot of potential and can make the experience really great if they put just a little bit more thought into flavor and presentation.
I had returned to the Akron area, and my Sister brought me here as a surprise. It was like I had never stopped coming. The quality of the food is still a 100 points. Friendly, efficient, and all flavorful in every bite. I live Bob's.
Excellent place to eat. The food was great and the service was exceptional. We will certainly be back during our next trip to the area. Thank you for the experience.
