Went on a tour last visit to Florida with my wife. We had a great time on the tour. Very good value & Captain Josh's knowledge of Florida plant & wildlife made the excursion super informative! We loved it!

I would suggest arriving at least 10 minutes early. We had a little bit of trouble finding the ticket office and boat. However after we got on it was an amazing ride.

I studied Wildlife Biology in college, and I have lived in Florida for 10 years. Yet Jesse taught me little facts that I did not know. Such as the fact that Spanish Moss was used in matresses across the country until the 1990's. In addition she expertly moved the boat through the river and made it look effortless.

My binoculars got a workout and I got better looks at Limpkins, Great Egrets, Ospreys, Blue Herons and Snowy Egrets, and Red shouldered Hawks then I have in years. My 5 year old son loved the trip as well.

I would not suggest going on this tour in June, July, August or September. It gets quite hot in Florida and it would not be enjoyable. However in all other months are it is fun and cooler.

Exactly what you'd want from a river tour. History, ecology, animals, but still peaceful.

This is the best experience to be had in this area. Captain Josh will spot everything on the trip and every time I've gone it was amazing. Beautiful birds and wildlife galore. Don't miss this and lots of restaurants nearby to try before or after. I love this boat trip!

    THANK YOU WELL DONE.

I am a life long Florida resident and this is a good taste of what the Florida nature is like.  The boat tour is a nice 2 hour ride around Hontoon Island.  You will see lots of alligators and birds and depending on the season, manatees.  The tour runs all year long but you're only likely to see manatees September to May so make sure you know that ahead of time.  My wife and I went in late April and even though it was scorching hot outside you don't feel it because the boat gives a little breeze as it moves and it's shaded.  It is a pontoon boat so no worries about seasickness  Our captain (Jessie) was nice and professional.  She knew a lot and kept everyone's interest.  I was pleasantly suprised at the history lesson we got too. If you are visiting Central Florida and want to see our outdoors this is a must do, and if you are a resident it's also really nice and I would recommend it for sure.  Also it is very reasonable price and the people are very friendly.  We missed our original 10am tour but they got us on the 1pm tour no problems.  A little out of the way but well worth it

    Fantastic tour, we loved it.

Slow paced and relaxing tour meandering through some beautiful nature areas. Our tour was conducted by the owner along with his wife and a crew member in training. The tour operator clearly takes a lot of pride in his operation and is focused on making each trip a unique experience come what may. The boat is in tip top shape and being covered is perfect should you find yourself taking the tour during the hot season. Being a paddler I found myself a bit envious of the paddlers that we passed. That said it would have taken two days to see what we were able to on this tour if we even new what to look for and where to look for it. If anything if you are a paddler I'd say do this tour first and then go back and do an excursion of your own.

The tour was educational as well as entertaining - great for couples and families

Highly recommended - beats a day in a commercial amusement park for sure.

My sister, bro-in-law and I went on the tour yesterday (March 13th). We are all Florida natives and are eco-friendly citizens from Longwood, FL. Even though we thought we "knew it all" re the flora and fauna, we learned many interesting facts.
It was a postcard perfect day and we counted 40 gators! I would HIGHLY recommend this tour for everyone! You WILL learn something new! Capt. Todd was awesome! Get in touch with our abundant and awe-inspiring miracles of nature! You won't regret it!
