I booked my wedding through Black Tie Tuxedo to try to save my groomsman a few extra dollars as the pricing was inexpensive in comparison to the two other stops I made. What followed was a snowball of poor service and poor communication that if it weren't for me harassing them, would have been a disaster.

I had a mental red flag when getting measured for my tux by a kid in an T shirt and blue jeans, that there is a chance they are not the expert in how a suit should fit. When my suit came in (two days before the wedding) I went in to try it on my lunch brake, mind you I walked in wearing a full suit for work. The suit was shipped to the Selden location, so I arrived and tried to check in at their office which was empty. I walked to the back where the receptionist said the fitting room was and there was a younger associate on his phone not helping any customers. I told him I was there to pick up my Tux for my wedding and he got it for me, handed it to me and said "pick a room".

I tried the suit on, the pants were extremely long and the shirt could fit 4 fingers between my neck and the collar. At this point the manager had come back from lunch and got called over when I said to order me another size. He tried to convince me that this is how a tuxedo is supposed to look, and admitted that the shirt "might" be too big. I handed him my dress shirt and had him order the same size, handed him my pants and said these are fitted correctly please match my inseam. He asked "which one I was" so I told him I was the groom, at which point his tone changed a lot. Frustrating that I should have to tell a suit rental company how a suit should fit.

5 out of my 8 groomsman had to have a new piece of the Tux sent out either overnighted for the day of the wedding, and one had to go back 3 times because they ordered the wrong size or did not alter the suit correctly. 2 of the sleeves were not modified at the fitting at all for the jackets, and they ordered the wrong shirt for one groomsman, which was a different color which the associate told him "they probably wont notice anyway".

When we were done, the suits looked good, but it was only due to our persistence in making sure that they did and not Black Tie's follow up by any means.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! Stay far far away from here. We went to black tie tuxedo in smith town for our wedding this coming November and ever since we did there has been nothing but problems. The first signs that allerted us was they continuously had our wedding date and pick up date wrong in the computer. We would correct it and then it would be right back to the wrong date again. Worrying me that we wouldn't have any tuxedos waiting come time for pick-up. When we called to cancel and chose a new place the owner Mark Tricorico continuously took all the grooms and groomsmen credit card information and stated he would refund them however after numerous calls from each of the boys still no one had been refunded. When we called to complain the owner stated "I wrote down the credit card information and lost it, so I couldn't refund them." Mark Tricorico also said " instead of wasting your efforts harassing him for a refund you should use your effort to help the cancer ward in stony brook" stating he's a good Christian and shouldn't be getting harassed. Little does he know I am an oncology nurse. From that point on any interaction with him was absolutely terrible. We told him we would go to the bank and dispute all the charges and he said "go right ahead." He hung up on us during most interactions and when we would call back he would ignore the phone calls. We still have yet to be refunded and will be disputing the charges. This place is not worth the time and stress. I will make sure never to recommend them and tell all friends/family to stay far away!

I have been in many weddings where places like mens warehouse completely screwed up the tuxedos. Very happy with how the men in my best friend wedding were treated and measured. Smooth process dealing with black tie and very accommodating! Thank you very much and I look forward to dealing with you in the future.

I've been to this shopping center 4 to 5 times since December for various reasons. Each time, I attempt to give this business the benefit of the doubt by stopping in and inquiring about sizing and pricing for a tux for my upcoming wedding. Each of these 4 to 5 times, I was there during this businesses open hours, and the door was locked, no one to answer. Literally each time. I've stopped by at 2pm, 1pm, 5pm, u name it.

I find it amazing how you stay in business. Will not be wasting my time anymore.

Black Tie should be called Black Tied because their performance was a lot like crystal clear blue waters turning black. They caused us more stress and grief than every other aspect of the wedding combined. To be gentle, I've seen better organized monkey poop fights in a zoo then the way that place performs. The staff is incompetent and a bunch of schemers. They make promises that they can't keep, appointments that they can't even come close to being on time for. They botched up the ordering of our tuxes, made us make 6 trips to the store to get things only somewhat right. They said they would order the complete tux I wanted to make sure it was the look we were going for, and after 3 phone calls that had us starting from scratch each time (they never remembered they were supposed to do what they were supposed to do) they finally got it done. Then 2 days before the wedding the ring bearers tux comes in with a half dollar sized ink stain on it that they said they didn't see. It's a tiny vest that goes on a 3 yr old. If they didn't see it, it's because they didn't bother checking it when it came in. Then they told us that a replacement was unavailable and tried to convince the kids mom that the other oversized vest they had, that was hanging down to the kids knees almost, was better than nothing!! I couldn't believe what I witnessed!! The phone calls they were supposed to make alerting us of updates never came. We had to constantly chase them around. There were other customers coming in during fittings that were enraged over problems they were having and their wedding was a day away so we got pushed to the side for 1.5 hours while their issues were resolved. The list just goes on and on. I could create a flow chart the size of a movie screen with all that we went through. It was easier to get my wife & her bride's maid dresses all sized up than it was to get 5 guys in a tux. Their attitudes and arrogance was terrible. Not sure where but find some where else to go!!!

Man I miss New York sometimes. I was invited to be a part of a wedding party for a wedding that was happening in New York, while I currently live in Salt Lake City. So I had to stop at a tailor here in Salt Lake to get my measurements, then send those over to Black Tie. I was arriving less than a day before the wedding, so if there were any issues with my tuxedo sizing, there really wasn't going to be time to fix it. Luckily, when I got into town and picked up my tux, it fit like a freaking gem. I looked sexy as hell, plus I arrived to find a friend from high school worked there. Both him as well as his co-worker were extremely kind and accommodating. I love when my wife who isn't from New York can see how nice New Yorkers actually are, and we get to blow the stereotypes out of the water. Good job guys.

Black Tie did an awesome job on the tuxes for my wedding. My wedding party looked amazing and groom looked like his tuxedo was custom made. Mark and the staff made choosing tuxedos a pleasure!!! I Highly recommend them.!
