Love it! People are very nice and helpful. The food is great and personally prefer beef and pork. And the side dishes are a plus!
Be prepared to sample everything. A straight up no frills BBQ joint.
Biker friendly, family friendly, business suit friendly.
NOT DIET FRIENDLY. You will leave happy
The food is delicious and the staff is friendly. The place inside is small, they do offer outside seating. The ribs are delicious! The brisket is to die for. Best deal are the combination platters for 4 or more.
What can I say? Drop what you're doing and check this place out! It has a very 'mom n pop shop' feel. Very homey, not fancy, but comfortable. The food is great! Warren, I assume he's the owner, and his staff are super friendly and helpful. Like Warren said while he was giving us the menu "tutorial" - yeah the menu needs a tutorial. Why? Because the pride he takes in explaining the quality, and ways and means of his food shines through. WARNING: when the menu says 'meal for "two"' - this is a total lie, unless the "two" are two buffalo, hippos or baby elephants. Like Warren is quick to inform you, "We don't do SMALL very well." Their meal for "two" feeds 4 or 5 normal human beings with left overs. It's not fancy it DOES feel like casual homemade roadside vittles, but do yourself a favor check these guys out. Their sides, meats and fixings are first rate and there's plenty of it!
This place was insane. The food is great and the staff really takes it to the next level.
We did the meal for one for both of us and got another meal out of it. Great portions of food, sweet tea, and the sides were so damn good. Try those smokey beans!
It'll blow you away, you have to give it a shot.
This place was great. Big W very nice. Portions are amazingly large. My picture was the for one dinner option. 2 hungry hikers scarfed it down and were both full. Easy access from NY 22. Short walk from the AT. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.
This place is THE Mecca for BBQ lovers above the Mason Dixon Line.
The brisket is pure heaven. The burnt ends are without any peer.
Ribs are perfectly done, always.
The chicken is a golden brown with a lightly smoked finish with incredibly juicy, tender meat.
The Mac and cheese has a delicious, slight sharp flavor that does not overpower it, just adds to the balanced taste.
The baked beans are loaded with pieces of meat and a great sweet sauce.
My only regret is that I can't come here more than once every few months because my cholesterol is a bit high.
Best brisket sandwich ever. It's all brisket nice and fresh. Very friendly atmosphere.
I drove an hour and a half to get here. It was worth the drive. I've been to many BBQ joints, I love travelling to different places and sampling their fare. First off, for the caliber of BBQ they offer; it is NOT overpriced. The amount of food you get is very generous. The owner is absolutely hilarious, and you can tell within 30 seconds of talking to him that he is very passionate about his craft. My fiancee and I got the sampler for 2 (really for 4) and it's enough food to feed six people and a hungry dog. The ribs were out of this world. The brisket made me cry tears of bliss, and the burnt ends made me see God. The sides were hearty and delicious (mac-n-cheese and dirty mashed we're I the favorites). It's a hole in the wall that is in the books as a spot we have to revisit. If you're a fan of BBQ this is one place you don't wanna pass on. Kudos to you Big W, my hat's off to you.
A little overpriced but super succulent Bbq. The dark crunchy bark on the meat with the subtle pink smoke ring inside showed the signs of a master smoker.
Kinda out in the middle of nowhere is the location. But we do drive the 40 minutes to get there because it's so Damn good.
The sell the the bones from the smoked meats for your dogs. My golden retriever Will chew that sucker for a month. Most bones get shuffled out pretty fast. This one he savors and protects.
The braised greens with burnt ends and zingy vinegar are heavenly.
The dining room is really small and could use a more home like make over. There's large picnic tables outside and cool little coffee shop next door.
You have to go there.
You can't believe how much you get for your buck here. They have an extensive range of food. Warren (the owner) and the staff are so accommodating, very personable, and always making sure you are satisfied with your orders. Love this place !
Big W's is not for the faint of heart. The food is awesome and the portions are huge. This is a Man vs. Food style restaurant. I always enjoy the baked macaroni and cheese
