It was so much fun even though It could use some updates. People share the inflatable rafts in the wave pool.
We lived at this place all summer in the 80's and we all had a blast! I was looking to see if it was even still there!!!!! Happy to see they finally added some grass, but from.pictures, it dies look pretty run down, that's a shame!!!! With the money they made all those years, you would think the place would be 100%better not about the same? Glad to.see all the rocks gone too..many of broken.bones in this rocks back.in the day! Enjoy everybody!
Went here with my family while we were visiting Arizona back in September. Beautiful park! The temperature of the water was PERFECT. It wasn't freezing cold like most places are, so it was easy to get in and out of the water without any discomfort. It's a smaller park, but it's well maintained and we loved our visit here!
The wave pool was probably our favorite feature though, even though the waves only came once every few minutes, it was still such a great experience (really, it goes back to it being the PERFECT temperature). I loved the little "rivers" that brought you down to the wave pool. On the hottest days, you wouldn't burn your feet because you can always walk in the water.
Burned my feet, lockers and food are too expensive and too far from water. No form of water relaxation for adults. Rafts and basketballs cost money. Wave pool is dangerous without a raft. Slides are mediocre. I loved this place as a kid in the 70's. Disappointment as an adult. My kids were disappointed, too. Cost to get in is outrageous.
I was here for my daughter's birthday with my family and she had a blast. The adults had fun too on the large water slides and the wavy pool. The bartender was very friendly and chatted with my brother for quite a while. I would say the only downsides were the filthy restrooms and the over priced food. There was only one location for a bathroom that had two stalls for the hundreds of people that were there. So the line was pretty long I believe the other women's restroom was burnt down in an accidental fire. The food was good but way over priced.
Parking was limited and the place was completely packed but the lines seemed to run through pretty quickly considering. I don't think I ever waited more than 15 minutes in a line. Wave pool was for the most part clean, but it could use more attention. Price is okay, park needs to be updated. Looks the same as it did 15 years ago and nothing new has been added. I'd say other parks in Phoenix would be better to go to like Wet N Wild. But for the price I paid, it was a fun day. Staff was friendly. Just not a 5 star experience
Terrible water park. I've been to a lot of water parks and this one is by far the worst I've seen. The park looks like it hasn't been taken care of in years, With paint chipping off of slide and pools. There was trash in the lawns and I even found a rusty screw on the sidewalk to the wave pool. Very unclean. If there wasn't water you'd wonder how many years it had been abandoned for.
I was ready to leave after about an hour having ridden all of the ride that looked fun. The wave pool is impressive in size but that's about it too long of a wait between waves.
Spend your money elsewhere.
I absolutely love Big Surf! The staff id courteous. and very helpful! I purchase season passes for my family and we love that place so we're going to go all summer long looking for a cool place to beat the heat and that's not expensive than big surf is your spot! 2 thumbs up!
I only go for their summer event Wet Electric. But may be worth it for a family during regular operating hours
This is one of the great waterparks in Arizona, my family has been going here since the sand used to singe our toes. Its very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. The food is good and there is plenty of shady spots to get out of the sun and enjoy. We always have to spend at least one day of the summer getting shot to shore on the waves.
Even though the place is always crowded during the summer months it is still very welcome reprieve from the heat and enjoyable by the whole family.
My family and I enjoyed one season at the Surf Park. My child loves it, I like to go when it's not many people because it can be overwhelming sometimes. I wish I could bring my own food because I eat healthy but the food choices are poor, mostly unhealthy.
It is however a unique place and nothing beats it in the heat.
Many slides and of course the wave pool. I'm disabled and the kiddie pool is nice for me, covered with places to sit in the water. The food is good and there are covered picnic areas with fans and misters for hot days.
