Rooms didn't seem completely clean, pool area was tiny, price was decent and complementary breakfast was good.

Love this place! My husband stayed here when he was a kid so he wanted to come back. Our room was steps from the water. The kitchen had everything that we needed. We came during the off season and it was really quiet. Lots of places to fish from, including a huge dock. We cannot wait to plan our next trip here!

We fell in love with this small lovely resort. Quiet no wake cove, great amenities, and super close to everything. We just bought one of the units and its just perfect.

It is alot of fun. And has a great pool and hot tub. It also has a great view of the lake. The cottages are nice and clean. Staff was friendly and grounds are well kept

Quiet, quaint cove. Easy access to shopping and dam. Nice rooms. Most are individually owned. Sunset deck and nice pool.

Avoid and go elsewhere at the lake if possible. People there are incredibly unfriendly as well as the home owners association being a bunch of bullies. The place used to be peaceful and set back a bit now there is loud music at all hours of the night and the home owners association bullies residents, guests and visitors if they don't like you or simply because they can. They forced residents to incur tens of thousands in upgrades to the properties for sewer and water when the previous well and septic were perfectly fine and had serviced the properties for decades. Not a peaceful friendly place anymore.

We checked into Unit 14 on 7/28/16. As soon as we walked into the door we were blasted with an awful musty smell, and then we immediately noticed that the unit was FILTHY. There were dead bugs everywhere, dirt & trash on the floor, urine all over the toilet, hair in the bath tub & bathroom sink, and every single dish in the place was dirty. My children's feet were black from dirt after only walking around for a few moments. I immediately contacted Deb, who adamantly insisted that the place had been cleaned. After several texts back and forth, she finally sent her assistant down to clean. The beds were awful and all of the furniture looks like it was picked up off a curb for free. My kids' feet were black from the disgusting carpet in the bedrooms. On Friday, we had no hot water, again I had to contact Deb through texts, as she would not answer her phone. We had a plumber in our unit for hours on Saturday and didn't have access to hot water until late Saturday afternoon. I asked Deb to call me several times, only to be ignored. When she finally decided to respond, she said that she tried to call me and couldn't get through (yeah right) and that she was "Sorry she took a small vacation." I tried calling her again Monday, and received no response. I finally got ahold of her Tuesday morning only to be met with an awful attitude and a refusal to give me her boss's contact information. We were promised a partial refund, at least for the cleaning fee and never received it. After having such a horrible response from Deb, we decided to cut our losses and give up. I absolutely DO NOT recommend staying at Big Bear resort. There are much nicer options for 175.00 a night at the lake!

The room was cozy, but not large. We had most of the resort to ourselves till the weekend on the off-season.

We had rented a 2 bedroom condo in 2015 and it was awesome, this year we rented a 1 bedroom and it was filthy. Called and told the lady in charge that the condo had not been cleaned. Rotten meat in freezer, dorito's in nightstand and all over on the floor, long black hairs on floor, black mold growing on shower door, shower head was plugged and kitchen faucet sprayed all over the place. I told her that she should come over to look at it and she said she couldn't she was in Jeff City. We told her we wanted a refund and she told us she could only give us a one day refund not a 3 three refund. It would of been nice if she would of said what can I do for you. But nothing just said no one else has complained. Talked to some people who own their condos and the said it is under new management. We will never stay there again, very disappointed.
