This is a great property. I use it often for local guest space. I look forward to seeing the place when the remodel is complete. Very nice local staff.
This hotel experience has been very disappointing so far. First we expected a king size bed and were placed in a room with 2 queens.. ok, we can put that to the side because we looked forward to the pool and hot tub to help soothe our joints after 20 hours on the road. We are both disabled vets so things like a pool almost feel necessary when we complete a 1300 mile drive which we do multiple times a year. However, the pool and hot tub are not working properly and are cold as well as the pool needing to be cleaned. This hotel does have a breakfast which is pretty good but we would have rather eaten dry cereal for 3 days and stayed at the Mystic River Inn like we usually have done. We chose this hotel because of the ratings and because it is closer to our destination but we will stick with the other hotel from now on. This stay has been a bust for us. I will say that the staff has been very polite and our room was clean when we arrived but when your picking a hotel, amenities are important even if they are a want and not a need and the small things are what make you feel comfortable and homey when not in the comforts of your own home. We got $40/night accommodations for $70/night. We are here until Saturday morning and unfortunately do not feel as though we are in a home away from home but we are kinda stuck now.. :(
This is a good budget option. The location is convenient to the freeway and gas, but the food options are either 2 exits east (north) or further west (south). My goal wasn't to stay in the room and be in proximity to the hotel, so if you're out doing whatever this won't be much of a concern.
The hotel itself is in need of a renovation, but it's not terrible. The main thing that would drastically change the appearance of here would be a carpet change. In the room, the bed/sheets are more contemporary, and the bathroom is okay, but the carpet just brings the appearance down. The AC/heater unit is helpful, and there are a lot of stations for the tv. As a note, you don't get lotion, only soap/shampoo.
The free breakfast is nothing to boast about, it has your standard itemscoffee, juice, toast, bagels, muffin, oatmeal, cereal, sausage patties, tasteless egg product, and pancakes. They have an auto pancake machine, in which you press a button and two small pancakes come out the sidethese were actually good and are the winner.
There is also an indoor pool, of which I did not go in. Parking is fine, I didn't see any security issues, but you are able to enter the building through multiple doors. There's a Super 8 motel next door as well.
Older motel. We spent one night there in a King Room with Microwave, Refrigerator, and flat screen TV. Wireless internet is free but we did not use it. Breakfast was typical for a Best Western blue. Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly. One complaint: there is an indoor heated pool that was not heated. I was told a part is on order only after we complained. We should of been told at check-in. I stay mostly at Best Westerns because I receive a corporate discount. If I was in the area and had to stay at a hotel I would stay there again.
I've stayed here several times and have always been satisfied. This time there were problems. A fire alarm went off at 6 AM. Hotel personnel ran around in a disorganized way. It took 10 or 15 minutes to find out from the breakfast-room attendants that there was no fire. Alarm continued to sound for 20 minutes, making sleep impossible. The room and bed were fine, except for a broken-off piece of the air conditioner control that I found lying on the floor. Breakfast was adequate. There were no bagels or butter. I asked an attendant for butter. She took her time getting it and seemed annoyed that I had asked.
We don't travel often, but when we do, I don't want to spend too much money for a bed, and the accommodations need to be enough to make my wife and kids happy. Well, I am happy to say that my wife and kids were very happy. Rooms were clean and smelled good. (check) Hot breakfast kept us nourished long into the day. (check) Staff was extremely kind, especially the kind breakfast lady, Jen - she was so personable and welcoming (check check). My only qualms: 1. I wish it would have been a tad less expensive (but I am used to camping for $35 a night. and 2. The pool was pretty cold and the jacuzzi was broken (but I doubt most people are traveling to West Greenwich to swim in a pool.) Can't go wrong with this hotel.
Good complimentary breakfast. Pool was pleasant. Daughter enjoyed her time there.
Still has strong smoke smell probably from when they allowed smoking. Nice outsides and wide hallways give this a cheery appearance in common areas. Well kept in rooms.
Stop over on our spring motorcycle touring trip. Clean hotel and room. The hot tub in the pool area was a bonus after a full, cold and wet day of riding and the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and settled in. The location was just right for us. Easy to access from the highway, but set back in a wooded area, so nice and quiet and relaxing. Close for our waterfront trip down to the ferry boat to ride out for the day to Block Island and return for our second night stay. Nice to wake up to a large clean breakfast area with plenty of seating and well stocked and staffed with a dedicated person to keep an eye on cleanliness and supply of breakfast items. Great value for the price.
Sometimes customer service makes up for anything and everything else. As frequent travelers, I can say without a doubt that the employees at this location are BY FAR some of the nicest, most accommodating hotel employees of any hotel or resort we have ever stayed. As a matter of fact, I would put their service on par with the JW Marriot Resorts (which is my personal favorite). I picked this location because my husband's vehicle was at the airport and we didn't want to drive into Boston after a 5 day trip to get here. I was very pleasantly surprised when we pulled up.
Please take note, this this is an older property with minor interior cosmetic issues. I read the reviews and I wanted to say, if you would like perfection, pay for It!
If you want an affordable, comfortable, clean, place to stay where you feel like the employees appreciate you, look no further!!
The owner/manager of this location has done a PHENOMENONAL job training the staff. They should all certainly be recognized!
Also, just a side note INCREDIBLE setting. It feels like you are camping in the mountains and, smells that way too!!
Very nice stay. Bed was very comfortable, showers were relaxing and very nice employees. Nice location with access to all of Rhode Island easily.
