Nice fairgrounds for an event. Attended the Seaside Scottish Highland Games here. Also camped on site. Facilities in good order for camping. Grounds kept up. Across the street from the Amtrak station and within walking distance to the beach and downtown.
Went to the swap meet and had a great experience. Lots of hidden treasures and great vendors.
Fun for the whole family. The concerts are free!! But the food is EXTREMELY over priced for what they serve you.
Great location by the beach, very clean, as far as fairgrounds go. The grounds seem to be well maintained and it's a nice venue in general.
One of the better fairs in my opinion you're right next to the beach so it's nice and cool and it's not as big and crazy as the other ones
It was a perfect day at the Fair. With it being be the Ocean It is only hot in the mid afternoon the the seabreez come along and cooled it off. Stay late so you don't miss the Great Fireworks show
Living on the opposite coast now, I miss this place, being a family staple visit annually. During the county fair, it is always incredibly crowded. Being flat tired is a huge risk in the mass of people. Also, parking has gotten increasingly worse and more confusing as more of the city is blocked off and little directional signage is posted; however, once you can make it past those 2 major obstacles, you're in for a treat. I absolutely love the commercial and environmental/plant showcase buildings. My favorite food is definitely the spiral fries found on the very far left side of the food court - they are a must try! Otherwise, plan your trip accordingly, and don't forget to stay hydrated. Socal dry heat is a killer, even on the coast!
p.s. do not leave without some mackinack island fudge, I promise you'll love it
🎪 Come for the mineral shoe and had fun. Looks like there are s lot of good events
Small event home and RV show. Nice people. Next to the ocean. Nice weather.
I've been going here since 1982. They have great shows. My favorites are the gun, rock and Mineral, and County Fair.
I went to the Ventura County Fairgrounds for Jurassic Quest. I realize events change at the location, so my review will be about the site itself. Parking this was all funneled along the far end and parking was cheaper ($4?) than I thought it'd be. +1 The bathroom layouts are kind of weird and hard to find. The food truck/carts were not high quality and longish lines. The outdoor ATM was semi-broken where it would reject your card and you had to force hold it to make a withdrawal. The place seems tired and a bit run down. Our family enjoyed the event overall, but the facilities need a lot of maintaining and they need better food.
Since my son was little we have chosen this Fairgrounds as the Fair that we go to every year. It is bar far the best venue and they take great care in choosing the ride and game companies. Not to mention, you can purchase a WOW pass that is good for every day of the fair PLUS once you are in the Fair all the concerts are free. They have had some amazing entertainment from Trace Adkins to The Beach Boys and Chakka Khan and B-52s. The Food vendors are awesome. REALLY IS something for everyone! They have a WIDE variety of entertainment to please everyone! This is in our opinion the best county fair in the US. Well protected by law enforcement. I can't say enough good things about this Fair! PLUS the icing on the cake is it is NEXT TO the Ocean. Many of the rides go high enough where you enjoy the Ocean from the ride. The Photography Company - the vendors - all good.
