Awesome place! The food is great and the price is right. Always busy there for a reason.

Service was excellent, staff was friendly and excellent, the jambalaya was a bit lacking in spicyness and had more of a tomato flavor to it, brisket was on point. Ordered the Texas brisket with a side of jambalaya and red beans and rice.
Overall excellent place and would go back again.
Oh ya and they have Tabasco Buffalo sauce here, I LOVE that sauce and it goes great on everything. Giving an extra star just for having that on hand.

Great potential/location. Service was excellent. Appetizers were frozen and delivered to our table cold in the middle. Good beer options. Food/menu is the reason for 3 stars.

My family and I were in Banner elk for my daughter’s wedding and we stopped at Bayou smokehouse and Grill for dinner on a recommendation. This place has outstanding food, the burgers are tremendous the Cajun food plates are filled to the capacity, plenty of food, decent pricing friendly waiter. Highly recommend

I come and reside in Banner Elk every year during the summer. The Bayou is actually my favorite restaurant on planet Earth. Everyone is nice, the atmosphere is relaxed, never bad service, and the food has always been consistently incredible. I may sound like I'm going over the top, but this place is truly a gem up in the high country!

Our server was fabulous. She was friendly but not pushy. The jambalaya was very good and we enjoyed the meal even with construction going on right outside.

We've made coming here a tradition every time we visit the mountains. The atmosphere is really laid back, more of a locals joint than a fancy restaurant. The staff treat you like an old friend not just another patron! Def the best place to watch a big game!! The beer is cold and the food is hot (and tasty too). We will keep coming back every year!!!

Just to be clear based on a couple of questionable reviewsthere is plenty of room in this great restaurant with superb food and wonderful service. This place is the real deal. Spicy!! Cajun seasoning spot on. Voodoo pasta was amazinghuge portion. My husband had the Cajun sampler. The gumbo, étouffée, red beans/rice and jambalaya were all outstanding. Glad we came in on our first ever Banner Elk trip. We'll be back!

We ate here for New Year's Eve based on a recommendation from a local server, and had a nice experience. The Voodoo Pasta was awesome, as was the Shrimp Gumbo. Be careful though because it's very spicy (I loved it). Red Beans and Rice had lots of sausage and good flavor too. Nice place to visit while in the Banner Elk area
