This hotel has the most unprofessional staff. Charged our company card in addition to the original booking charge and refuses to return NUMEROUS phone calls and emails regarding the matter. You NEVER answer the phone, nor do you allow callers to leave a voicemail. When someone finally answers you get the sob story about your manager Ms. Mckay being busy with Q&A. Honey we are all busy, do your job! And kudos to the front desk lady that was short and hung up on me. Very professional. Baymont Inn & Suites should remove their name from your establishment. You are doing them a disservice.

Check-in 6/22, checkout 6/23. Hotel did not honor my request for 1st floor. Room was smelly, no cups, no ice bucket, no shampoo. when I went to breakfast they did not have any orange juice. Biscuits seemed old and very little to choose from. The lady at the front desk when I checked in was rude but the lady at checkout was very nice and seemed concerned with my complaints. this is the second disappointment I have had from Baymont in one week, the other was in Tallahassee Florida. This was my last stay at a Baymont. I guess you get what you pay for.

The staff was kind, and yet unprofessional by making jokes and comments about their personal lives as if we had known them for 10 years. Not rude, just unprofessional. Maybe that's how they interpret "hometown hospitality?" Then they booked us in a room that wasn't clean yet, so we waited about 15 minutes to get into our room. The hotel itself was clean, but there's only so much the cleaning staff can do. The physical building was in poor condition: Rusty door knobs, doors on the sink vanity were hung crooked, lumpy pillows, super old mattress, end tables were in very poor condition and look like they had been obtained at a yard sale, nobody bothered to patch a hole in the wall where a towel rod used to hang, they simply painted over it, the electrical outlets were just frightening you had to force the plug in as it stopped about half-way into the outlet, there was no vent in the bathroom, the pool cover was pulled half-way off and you could see all of the floating debris. It just looked like the hotel owner took any and every shortcut they could so that they didn't have to spend money to fix cosmetic issues with the hotel. Painting over a hole instead of fixing it: lazy. Not taking the time to hang a door straight on a sink vanity: LAZY. It was also noisy- you could hear everyone's conversations outside.

There are many other hotels in the immediate vicinity. I would recommend choosing a different hotel.

This 'inn' was terrible. Our first rooms lock wasn't working so they moved us to another room. We walk in to faint smells of cigarettes and we asked for a non smoking room. The comforter had cigarette burns on it. The toilet seat was broke and the shower head was a rotating shower head that barely had any water pressure! There was barely any space between the bed and the closet that they put in there. There was no fridge or microwave and there were two other machines that looked like they were dehumidifiers but I wasn't sure. I can't be sure because it only happened one night out of four, but I acquired 3 huge bites from what looked like bed bug bites or maybe a spider and then I got little bites that looked like flea bites. And I wasn't outside at all during my stay in Birmingham! The free breakfast was nothing to rave about; basically bagels, muffins and toast and crappy coffee. Overall this hotel is not good.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for two nights the second week of August. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. The refrigerator and microwave were a nice convenience, as was the free breakfast each morning. The pool area was well tended and relaxing. If you are looking for a nice, clean, and comfortable place to stay very close to downtown Birmingham, I-65, Brookwood Medical Center and the Galleria Mall. This is the place to stay. Overall our stay was great.
