Thank you so much to the ladies that helped us last night with our dog MiMi. It’s never easy saying goodbye to a pet. Everyone was very kind and considerate in our time of need. With that said, thank you again and we truly appreciate all you’ve done to make such a difficult situation just a little easier.

I wish I could give Bay Beach five stars. The ONLY reason I give them four is because the ladies at the front desk are often rude and snobby. This does not stop me from bringing my three dogs there because Dr. Key is the BEST. Over the last five years, I have put two cats down here and now I have regular check ups for my pups. The wait time is often a bit long but I don't mind because the doctors truly give the best care they can. All vet techs have been great. Seriously, you could not pay me to switch vets.

I am so happy I did not let the negative reviews I read stop me from bringing my dog in. I have had a great experience for a not so good situation with my dog. So much so I transferred all of her records to Bay Beach making them my new vet! Everyone was very nice, doctors talk to you with compassion and it's not overly priced like some reviews mention. Don't let those one stars discourage you, this has been the best vet office I've ever been to.

Both locations have done an outstanding job! The staff is friendly and caring, they took the time to explain what our dog needed. The vet Rex saw took superb care of him. Bay Beach is now our routine Vet.

Always very helpful and friendly. It's very clean every time we have been there. Easy access on Virginia Beach Blvd. You can always find a Dr and an appointment. Then you can always come back and book an appointment with the same Dr.

Came here for an emergency visit. Waited 2 hours in a small cubicle room. My puppy was shivering with a fever. Came here because the store I bought my puppy from would only pay the bill here. Not coming back here next time because of the wait and the bill at the end. They seem like they care, although the vet assistants didn't have great doctor patient skills the Vet was great. She told me she wanted to hospitalize my puppy for 2 days. Oh yeah and the bill came to just under $2,000. Luckily the pet store gets to deal with that and not me.

Heartless, money-grubbing monsters. Zero compassion.
Damaging.
Took my angel home to die in my arms with DIGNITY AND RESPECT at the hands of a merciful and compassionate vet.
He went out peacefully. Not like you give two sh!ts.

WORST EMERGENCY VET EVER!!! Took my kitten there last night. She was shaking so bad, she hasn't been eating or drinking and she was vomiting. The nurse was rude itself, had a snappy attitude. Then the doctor came in, started picking up my kitten squishing her stomach, which i know she has to do to see if anything is inside of her - but the way she was squishing my kitten, THAT WAS NOT RIGHT. Then she just told me that she looked okay on the outside and that she'll give us a fecal test. i said fine, then the nurse comes back in with a paper of $300 worth of work to be done! UM NO, you said ONE thing. Waste of $70, rude people and non caring animal people. GO TO BLUE PEARL.

Dr. Cronin looked after our Mastiff Stella for 6 years, and she is the most amazing, caring person, I couldn't have asked for more. She always went above and beyond for us, laughed with us during the great times, cried with us when Stella was diagnosed with terminal cancer, and was there with us when we finally made the heartbeat ingredients decision to put our precious girl to sleepshe is the kindest, most loving vet and truly cares about every furry family member that comes in to their practice. I owe such a debt of gratitude to all of the staff at Bay Beach Vet for such a high level of attention, care, and empathy. I will never take another pet elsewhere. Dr. Cronin we love you! Thank you eternally, love Stella Cole, Marie, and family.

This was a horrible experience. Please go somewhere else in an emergency!
Our dog needed surgery to remove an obstruction from his intestines. When we arrived to drop him off, the lady at the front desk refused us because we didn't have a referral. For whatever reason they didn't get to referral from our regular vet. Once we gave them our copy of the paperwork, they were noticeably warmer and immediately accepted our dog.
The next day we went to visit our dog after surgery. When we walked in, four women were sitting at the front desk talking and watching a movie. It took 20 minutes for them to bring our dog out to us. I figured they had taken our dog outside to use the bathroom before bringing him to us and that was maybe what was taking so long. When our dog was brought to us, we were also given a plate of food (canned chicken and some kibbles) and told our dog had been refusing to eat. We tried to feed our dog and he refused the food. Then we noticed he was sitting by the door, which is the signal for needing to use the bathroom. We took him outside where he took an extra long pee and poop. It was obvious no one had taken him to relieve himself in HOURS. Upon going back inside, he immediately began to eat the chicken.
As we were leaving, a lady ran out into the parking lot and told us we needed to go buy canned chicken for our dog to eat. At first, I thought she was joking. Then, she went on to say that they had run out of chicken and since that was clearly what our dog wanted to eat, we needed to go buy more. Oh, and she also said we needed to buy chocolate as well. Chocolate? Seriously?! My husband and I stood in the grocery store debating whether or not to actually buy the chocolate. However, we were concerned that our dog would be ignored even more if we did not buy the chocolate, so we got it along with cans of chicken.
Upon our dog's discharge, it was noted that the place on his arm where the IVs were was still bleeding and needed the bandage needed to stay on longer. By the time we got home, the bandage had been wrapped so tightly that his circulation had been cut off and his paw was double normal size.
I'm completely disgusted by our experience at Bay Beach and next time will go to Blue Pearl in the case of an emergency. I'd advise you to do the same!response / report this review -

I brought my pet here and had the worst experience ever. I honestly would never return here again. The woman at the front desk, who I won't name, so she can save her job, (she worked during the night shift) was absolutely horrible. She refused to let me back there with my pet and then told me I was not allowed to have an update!! Rude. Nasty and laughed in my face. Do not go here, ever. If you want a place to go to where your animal will be treated well and your concerns will be addressed go to Blue Pearl in Va Beach.
