Horrible place for food and atmosphere. Food was cold like it was still frozen, staff was rude and aggressive. Never eating here again. Trash management.

Good food but horrible staff (bouncers). Too aggressive for no reason. And when needed, you can't get a hold of management. They lie and flip stories. Wish this place would get shut down or at least get better staffing or bouncers who won't put hands on you when you don't do anything. If I could give this place no stars I would.

Nice easy pace, good food, great drink choices, I was there on a slower night, and had attention from the staff. Neat place, check it out for yourself.

This was on a Sunday afternoon. The staff was friendly and helpful. As I was being shown to an outside table the gentleman showing me to it passed by a woman coming in. She cursed at him and called him a foul name because even though he was already there. He didn't make way and back out of the door for her to walk in. He ignored her and got us to our table. Thanked us and said a server would be out promptly. He then went in to deal with the foul mouthed customer. Excellant professionalism and the young lady who was our server was sweet and friendly too. I highly recommend this business to anyone in the area. Kudos on a great crew and excellant fare as well.

Unfortunately, most of my experiences here match the other reviews. I think the food is good and their drink specials are very inexpensive. Other than that, the normal Barley House experience involves a long wait after being seated to see your server, not uncommon to wait 15 minutes to get your drink, even when the place is not busy. Good luck finding the server to place a food order, etc.
When I went to UA, Barley House did student organization nights. It went something like this: Tuesday between 6-8 PM, bring this flyer in an 20% of your bill goes to student organization X. It was very generous and was a big source of funding for many organizations. However, it was not uncommon to go in right a 6 (not busy), order a drink and a meal only, and not get our check until after 8 and have to ask them to still honor the student org deal. We could not get in and out in under 2 hours even if we wanted to.response / report this review -

We waited about 15 minutes after we were seated before we were even acknowledged. There was confusion and obvious tension between the server and hostess. They were out of all their major vegetarian options and gave my date his entree a good ten minutes before mine, making it really awkward as each of us had nothing while the other ate. The food they did serve was bland and forgetable. It was an all around terrible dining experience; my date and I both wished we'd stayed home and won't be returning.

Ordered a double shot and it looked like a single and no, had not had anything to drink yet. I told the bartender,that looks like a single shot. He assured me it was a double because the pouring spout on the bottle was designed to measure a shot. I told him that a double shot of scotch is what I've been ordering for over 20 years and that was NOT a double. I paid him, plus a tip and let it be. I went home and had a glass like they used in the bar and measured 2 shots. It was way more. It looks like he sold me 1-1/4 shot instead of 2. Otherwise, the food is good, the waitresses are pretty and friendly.

Convenient downtown bar and eatery. Prices run about 30% more than similar food at other places. It's mostly a dark bar with a fried food menu. Live music sometimes. Saturday and Friday nights the place is full of douchebags and troublemakers.

My roommate and I went in after work one night because we were hungry and we thought it would be convenient since we live close by. The place was mostly empty and it was beautiful outside so we didn't think anything could go wrong. The host was really awkward, the waitress was awkward. We waited a longer time for our food than expected since we were only 2 of the maybe 12 people in the entire place. The buffalo chicken dip was awesome. We also got boneless wings and it felt like eating croutons, no lie. Ranch and celery didnt taste good probably because they weren't cold so they probably weren't in a line cooler, it seemed like they were sitting out for awhile. Overall I might go there again but I definitely won't be picking it over Hooley House or Winking Lizard.

My uncle used to swear by this place. It may have been the end of the night but you're night guards were extremely hostile towards me. I was uninformed that the bar was closing, and had been allowed to exchange a dollar for quarters which was knowingly for a game of pool. As soon as I had entered my change into the table(hadn't even had the opportunity to rack), two bouncers came up to me and demanded abandoning my table and leaving because the bar was closing. I hadn't been causing problems, I came in, drank my two beers and was ready for a game of billiards before heading home. Only person I'd spoken to was the bartender. Now, since I was unable to use the table at all, I simply asked to have my dollar back then so I could take my money elsewhere for the night, makes sense right? Apparently not because I was told no and that if I didn't leave that they would call the police and have them remove me. Okay, if I had been belligerent and drunk and was making an idiot out of myself, I understand, but that wasn't the case, I was actually making an attempt to be kind and understanding given he had been working a 19 hour shift. Instead of mutual respect i was bullied by meat head in a security shirt. Don't waste your time here, 69 taps is just down the road with a wider selection and better prices and a staff that is actually welcoming. That is where I will be taking my business from here out

Waited ten minutes to be seated. Another ten to be acknowledged by a waitress and then another fifteen minutes to have a water and Diet Coke brought to our table. We ended up leaving so as not to waste our entire night there. Wasn't busy, they have a lot of young staff with no guidance or sense of responsibility.
