Not impressed. My sirloin strip steak with ONE side at $36 was so overpriced. I don't eat ribs, but others in our party of 6 got ribs. Another got the brisket..she left part of it and never got her cornbread. Our server was awful, during the long wait I observed other servers doing an excellent job with their customers and keeping up on refills. Nice view of the river.. perhaps next time I'll pay nearly $4 and drink soda to enjoy the view. Not!

Had ribs, fish, and chicken - all quite good. Good sides and dessert. Fine service. Boathouse is a little pricey but I'm sure many will think it is worth it. I wasn't paying. So that helped :)

We recently placed an order to pick-up. We called day off and were able to set up a specific time. It was very easy and the server very was friendly.
My husband and I are completely crazy for their super tender ribs. You can request the sauce on the side if you like. Sometimes they put on a lot, so that’s my preference. My gramma loves to get their baked sweet potato as her side every time. This is definitely a good choice for our whole family.
I will mention that the ribs come in three different serving sizes - half slab, full slab and “King” size. And I have to say that I was disappointed by the King. I expected it to be closer to a slab and a half considering the price. If you order it to share, be sure to order plenty of side to go with it or they’ll be gone and you’ll still be hungry.response / report this review -

A very nice place with a beautiful view of the river. Ask to sit by the window! In the evening, the lights from across the river are very pretty. A good place for a photo. Food was good. We all are the ribs and we're happy. Enough to take some home too. A little more expensive, but it was worth it!

The Montgomery Inn is one of the top restaurants in Greater Cincinnati. It is probably the best restaurant experience you can have along the Ohio River near Cincinnati.
Known for the ribs and sauce The Experience here who's far beyond that one item. They have great Seafood items as well as roast duck orange sauce and don't miss the onion straws or kitchen chips to enhance your meal.
I recommend this restaurant as a place to take a business guest or to go for a celebration. The wait staff is terrific and the owners are right there to help at all times. And experience you will definitely appreciate.response / report this review -

With all the hype surrounding it, I had built up a high expectation. The service was good. The cornbread should be a desert there was so much sugar. The consistency was pretty good but I couldn't eat mine with my meal because all I could taste was sugar. The sauce was as good as expected and the brisket was super tender no knife needed.

My favorite restaurant for baby-back ribs! The meat literally falls off the bone for you and the sauce is wonderful. I ask for extra sauce and just expect to clean myself up after I'm all done enjoying the ribs.
I ate at the original restaurant 32 years ago while on a business trip. Whenever I am within a 90 minute drive of the place, I make sure I get a meal in. Unfortunately I'm averaging only one visit every 8 years.
The Boathouse location is large and very busy. That means very little waiting for a table if at all. I'm not sure about the $5 valet parking plus tip. They said it was required the other night. I don't know when that is in effect. Years ago it wasn't.

Server was amazing. Valet parking was great. Food was Exquisite, perfectly cooked. I had a nice juicy pork chop with a side of fries and I am completely happy with the service. We sat outside the view was beautiful. And the home made key lime cheesecake was just the cherry on top of an amazing lunch. Highly recommend!!!!

Valet service was the best part. Went here for our anniversary dinner. We were seated off to the side. Everyone else had window seats. Since we were a young couple the staff treated us like we weren't even there. As if we had no money and were poor. Despite that we were dressed in formal wear. The food was not the best. I have had better service and better food at fast food joints. Unless your over 35 years old and have a party of 4 or more, then they could care less about you.

We spent the evening at the bar and then had a late dinner. The staff and waitstaff treated us like royalty and the manager actually sat with us at the end of dinner and ordered us all complementary desert.
I had high expectations and didn't want to be disappointed but I had to have there Barbecue ribs and the baked mac and cheese. Upon arrival we Valet parked and the attendant was polite and professional. The hostess was nice and gave us the upstairs seating on the patio overlooking the river as I had requested. The manager came over and asked how our day was going and that was nice. The waiter was fast, polite and very well versed on the menu and specials of the day. The atmosphere in this restraint is very well done and full of political and celebrity memorabilia. Lots of the pictures signed and most taken with the owners George Montgomery and Bob Hope.
Long and the short was the experience was another great one and memories that will bring me back for more.

The steak when you order it medium rare is thick so bear in mind you have to get in a little bit before you get to the rare portion.
Thr mac and cheese was a little too saucy and needed to sit or add something to thicken it up.
But otherwise
Very satisfied

It depends on what your preferences are, but our experience was pretty good. Made a reservation but had a wait, but only about 10-15 mins. Food is pricey, if you are okay with that. Ribs are their specialty, which we don't eat, so we stayed with simple things off the menu - chicken wings, fries, Mac & cheese, Greek salad, potato soup. The food was great. A noisy place, so not necessarily appropriate for a quiet romantic dinner, if that is what you are expecting. Great experience overall.

This place has potential, but it's not a quiet, romantic setting as the valet service, view, and candlelit tables would lead you to believe. It's a loud environment for more of a family wing restaurant-styled crowd.
There was a major disconnect in the hostess/host communication and we were not seated where we had requested. The host that seated us was a little rude when we alerted him to the mistake and only replied with, "I'll have to get a manager." The manager was rushed, but nice, and he made it right with our seating arrangement.
The food was adequate, but a weird mix of ribs and more expensive cuisine. My NY strip steak was supposed to be done medium and came out well done, although it was still tasty.
There was nothing that made this restaurant stand out among what's available in the area. We likely won't return.response / report this review -

The scenery is beautiful by the river. The wait was long on a Saturday (1 and a half to 2 hours) but we had reservations. The girls that worked up front were nice and so was the people that walked us to our table. They were busy but our food came out pretty quickly. They offer valet for 5 dollars or you can park along the street.

This place is amazing: the original art deco features of the room are absolutely stunning, the booths are cozy and romantic, and the food is just incredible. You feel like you have just been dropped into the 1930's. My husband and I opted for the 10 course Grand Tasting Menu with wine pairings.
