The retail store is super nice. The staff is friendly and super helpful. I asked for 10 pairs of climbing shoes and they brought me 10 pairs. 😀
Very clean, fast if you pre-order and pick up there. I couldn't decide so I stopped in to compare products, there is absolutely no pressure and everyone was friendly.
Not "just" a retail store - This place is greatunlimited selection and unlimited non-commission driven, and consequently non "pushy" salespeople. My sales associate, Jeremiah, spent a good long time imparting his knowledge to me on a winter parka. Gave me honest advice and opinions and showed unlimited patience. It's great being made to feel as if i had a friend in the business. If you are anywhere close to this place - stop by. I am a Backcountry on-line shopper and now I am a customer for life.
Great store for all your outdoor needs! I didn't know they had a lobby and store here. I always thought it was just the warehouse. The staff is cool and it is nice to pick stuff right up instead of waiting for it from the mail. You do have to order it on a computer and wait a bit for it to get pulled but still faster then snail mail.
Backcountry stands by their product! We purchased a GoLite tent several years ago but didn’t use it until just this fall. The seams leaked in a snow storm and we got soaked. Even though GoLite has closed their doors, Backcountry still gave us a refund and stood behind their satisfaction guarantee policy. Thanks to Sunn, we will be shopping here every time we buy gear! Pretty cool!
Been in to their retail store a lot. sometimes it takes 45 minutes to get one item, and sometimes I can get several items in 5 minutes. Crowds seem to be the same in all instances. Seems to be hit or miss depending on who they have working in the warehouse. Has been getting better. They usually have everything I want to see, occasionally there will be an item in a size or color that's only in their Virginia warehouse. They've been putting more products out on their floor which is good. I just really like to see things before I buy, otherwise I wouldn't be going to their building and i'd just order online.
Mark helped me out over the phone, superb customer service. Fast shipping if you order online.
I’ve been buying my gear here for quite a while and I have never had a bad experience. Staff is really friendly and knowledgeable, always willing to help.
Ashleigh is an awesome gearhead! FedEx destroyed the package of the gift I purchased and claimed that it was undeliverable. Ashleigh re-shipped a gift and called me to offer further assistance with the return if the gift didn't fit. Thank you, Ashleigh!
It's kind of weird how you call the items from the warehouse, but the fact that it's even possible makes it well worth it.
I normally shop at REI, but I was in a hurry so I stopped in this place hoping to find what I was looking for. The first associate I talked with seemed fairly snooty and uninterested in my plight, and I had every intention of leaving after ourconversation. However, another associate overheard us and rummaged through his inventory and (what do you know) he found what I was searching so diligently for! 4 stars for stuck up worker, but an otherwise pleasant experience. Very fair prices.
It's the most amazing customer experience, so the initial scoring would have been a six star. After calling customer service and finding out which items are in the west valley warehouse I went there to try them on. Once I chose one item, I basically picked it up right there from the warehouse window.. I requested to get a new item, not the one on display. That would have been the six star experience.
However, once I got home and unpacked the 'new' item, I discovered fingerprints and a scratch on the lens. I called immediately and returned the item for an exchange and that meant to deal with skeptical staff at the front desk. They remembered me buying the item the day before and openly doubted the case. Now I am being quizzed and basically frowned upon by two of the front desk employees. How embarrassing that was can anyone imagine. Awful experiencewhich levels the score to 3 stars.
Stopped in to check it out while out this way to visit Uinta. They don't have a massive retail area but they'll bring anything out to you. Basically you browse their website and they bring whatever you're interested in out to you. Not a bad system but not exactly ideal for just browsing around, either. If you know what you're looking for or have a few specific things you'd like to try it seems like a fine system.
Ordered some gear from them, got a call from one of their Gearheads, Nick Chan, the next day thanking me for my order and an email follow up in case I needed any further assistance. Everything arrived as ordered, on time. Two days after arrival, I noticed the same stuff I just bought, now on sale. I called up the Nick who thanked me for my original order and left a message. He called me back pretty quickly, said they would be able to refund me the difference, no problem! You're getting a return customer with friends for sure!
