Bacaro LA is predominantly a college crowd bar. Most students are from USC. As the neighborhood becomes increasingly gentrified, more gourmet style restaurants are taking root in my neighborhood. Bacaro LA is my go-to restaurant for taking visitors from out of town or from abroad. This is one place where taste and joy meet in multiple culinary options.

Fantastic what a birthday treat I was surprised by my girlfriend here for my birthday the staff was incredible! My waiter who did not mention his name but but is due so much credit on 10/8/2017 was so attentive and informed! The food was excellent compliments to the chef and the house beer and wine were incredible! I am from Orange County but can garuntee I will be back to LA for this place and this place only! As a fellow bussiness owner they are doing things right! Ambiance is amazing staff is amazing! They are pure excellence.

Great place for groups, relatively reasonable prices too! Very popular amongst USC crowds !

Lovely little place serving small dishes and sangria, wine, cocktails etc. I wish we had made it for happy hour, but it seems like they have some special going pretty often, so I definitely want to return. With a friend, I shared a pitcher of sparkling white sangria, the lamb stuffed eggplant (lemony and mouth watering), the seared scallops (favorite dish: perfectly seated scallops and fresh corn. Bigger portion than expected), the ricotta and beet gnocchi (creamy! Soft little gnocchi), and the smoked mushroom grilled pizza (lots of mushrooms on little pizza about the size of a CD). We were stuffed!! And that was about $30ish a person. Will definitely come back, I want to try more! The wait staff was impeccable and friendly.

This is a wonderful and tasty gem! The manager Matt and our server Steph were so friendly and accommodating. My group and I had the all you can eat beefsteak and it was delicious! The drinks were great as well. And of course the service was on point. Thanks you guys!

This place was great for me. I enjoyed everything about it, the only thing I felt needed something different was the closeness between two people sitting and the portion of food. If you're going to eat something small and have a drink I'd say this place is for you.

The decor was awesome, from the wood on the walls to the wine bottles on the ceiling. I order the burger with a friend egg on top and I have to say it was delicious. We also orders the pitcher of sangria and that too was great.

The overall atmosphere the place put out was cool as well. I liked the feeling of leaving on my own accord as well. I wasn't given then check right after I was done eating.

    Will recommend to friends.

I was very unimpressed with Bacaro. I feel like the only reason it does well is because it's one of the few trendy restaurants in proximity of USC. The food here is certainly good, but the tapa-sized portions are very overpriced and rather underwhelming.

First off, I did not enjoy the cramped, small, dark space inside. It's probably part of the vibe or atmosphere that they try to create for their restaurant, but it wasn't cutting it for me. You can barely see inside of the dimly lit interior at night, and the benches for seats are weird and uncomfortable. Everything feels very tight.

The food itself is very good. I enjoyed the fries and the macaroni. They have a lot of simple casual food items such as this. Do NOT get the Bacaro burger and expect an actual hamburger. It was the most disappointing and sad looking slab of meat on a piece of bread that I have ever seen. IT'S NOT A BURGER IF IT DOESN'T HAVE TWO BUNS!!! Disappointing.

Not worth the cost. Only plus is the convenience of its location close to USC. I'll look elsewhere further away, however, for much better dining experiences that are worth the cost.

I was here for brunch and I guess it was nice considering it was near USC-- not much else going on around that area. The food was okay-- not great. Some of the dishes were a bit salty. It's convenient but I wouldn't come back here for brunch.

Definitely one of the best places in the area for a fun night of tapas and drinking. The Sangria is a great value on Happy Hour ($14 for a pitcher) and the tapas are all delicious.

To trendy for my taste. You order your small 'tapas' type of food and the items come out at different times. For a sit down meal and quite time this is not the place. Definitely bar atmosphere. Server lady was either frustrated or it was me. I generally don't ever say anything about a place. If you are down with loud and really noisy small portions and for them to come out at different times, then this is definitely your go to spot. Food takes to long to come out. Came here for brunch and the meal was not what I expected. Food took way to long come out. Not for me
