Very disappointed with everything at this restaurant. When I went with my parents every steak was unavailable and the duck and lamb. My boyfriend and I both ordered steaks for us to find out 20 min later that they were out of both and just cooked the last few for other customers so we had the choose new dishes! I picked the scallops with angel hair and lemon cream sauce when I received the dish no sauce was on it at all just dry noodles but the scallops were done well. My stepdads fish was significantly over cooked to the point where it had to be sent back which we never do. Took us about 20 minutes to get the check after we finished everything and we were there already for two hours with the running out of everything fiasco. Granted it was parents weekend so they were busy, with the amount of reservations they received they should’ve bought enough meat for their weekend. We went to many other restaurants that were amazing and handled the amount of volume so it’s not really an excuse when you are paying so much money. Paid too much money for disappointing customer service, no options to choose from, and disappointing flavors in general.
Great food and great service - consistently!
This is a wonderful gem. The food was fantastic and service as well. Brunch is great! Highly recommend checking this place out for a drink or dinner.
We've been regular diners at Avenue Eat and Drink for years. We've brought friends and family there and entertained large parties there. The food at times has been spotty, but at least we could count on the atmosphere and service, not so last night. Tallahassee dining tends to be unsophisticated in general. It's not unusual to be served one course before the previous one has been finished and cleared. We will quite often ask a server to take back the main course until we're finished with appetizer and salad. Our waitress brought all three courses out at the same time last night, so we asked that she keep our main course warm, so she took it back to the kitchen. Less than 10 minutes later, a server brought the main course back out while we we're still working on the first courses. We asked what was the rush, the place was less than a 1/4 full. Things did not go well from there and we decided to leave without eating our main course. I might have overlooked this but the first two courses were mediocre at best. So we won't be going back.
The food was pretty good despite the high price, and the atmosphere was nice. My wife especially liked the decor. I'm taking off two stars due to the following exchange with our waiter.
Me: "Can I order a drink not listed on the menu?"
Waiter: "Sure, go ahead."
Me: "How about a chelada?"
*waiter looks confused*
Me: "It's a Mexican beer cocktail?"
Waiter: "I don't know, I'm not a bartender."
Me: "Fine, l'll order off the menu."
Since they have a bar and an actual bartender there, my expectation was that he would go ask the bartender if he could make the drink. It's not that hard. I don't expect the waiter to know all the drink recipes he delivers to the table, I just expect him to submit the order and deliver the booze (or the bad news if my order cannot be met).
I took my wife here for our anniversary. The staff was very attentive the food was excellent with generous portions Brad was our waiter he was amazing the appetizers were awesome and the ambience was incredible I rate this a 10 and I recommend anyone who hasn't tried this restaurant to comeo.
We had a very nice dinner with another couple. The portions were generous and the service was excellent. Fortunately we had dinner when the Florida legislature was out of session. I understand that when the legislature is in session, this restaurant is packed.
The food was very good as was the atmosphere. However there are enough other excellent choices in Tallahassee that are a better value. Given the price point, we will likely not go back.
This is a nice restaurant with a very attentive staff. Food choices were nice. Pet friendly patio to enjoy a meal with your best friend.
We stayed at the hotel right next door and were looking for a close place to dine. The front desk recommended Avenue. I'm glad they did. The staff was very good. The food was excellent. The night we were visited, there was a large group sitting close to us. So loud it sounded like a frat party.
