My Boston Terrier has suffered with allergies for years. After trying everything, including allergy testing and injections, we found Dr. Schick at ATL Vet Specialists. Wow, it was a whole different experience. I’ve never had such thorough veterinary care. Dr. Schick was able to determine right away the necessary treatment, and we saw great results immediately. A year later, Alex has never been healthier and more energetic. His coat is glossy, healthy and beautiful. It has been our good luck to finally find a veterinary dermatologist who is truly knowledgeable and will take the time to completely and skillfully treat our little guy. Grateful!

Our cat Smudge was plagued by skin allergies. We adopted him when his previous owner had to give him up after 4 years of their frustration and his suffering. We found AVS and it changed Smudge's life completely. I know some owners expect a one visit fix but that is not realistic. It does take time but is worth the results. Dr. Mary Schick and her staff at AVS are fantastic. They took the time to full investigate his background and his body. Everything was explained completely to me and all my questions were answered. A course of treatment was agreed upon and he was on his way to recovery. I can't thank the folks at AVS enough for giving Smudge back a quality of life he didn't have before I found them! I highly recommend AVS and will be forever grateful for their caring and quality care. The entire staff is awesome too!

Very Disappointing. First appointment for treating ear infection and skin allergy very expensive but had the undivided attention of the specialist. Second appointment in which testing was to be done as well as a check up we were kept waiting for what turned out to be over an hour and were never seen by the Vet. I had traveled over an hour and had appointment for over a month. The receptionist who was obviously embarrassed explained that a cat had gotten sick creating a delay but had expected it to be 10 or 15 minutes. I was the only one in the waiting room. The Vet never talked to me or offered an apology. After 90 minutes an assistant gave my dog the same ear block that the first visit had not cured without addressing my dog's condition. My dog and I were basically ignored in what turned out to be an over 3 hour escapade. I sent an email to the clinic the next day expressing my disappointment in what should be a top professional experience given the cost. They never responded. As a fellow business owner who practices the golden rule, I feel this was very poor performance and I will not return.

We took our pet here for a I 131 treatment. The Veterinarian and staff were very professional, kind, and tentative. We had to board her for 4 days and the staff offered to send us pictures of our pet each night. When picking our pet up, the Vet took her time and covered every detail with us without rushing us out of the door. Excellent facility and will be visiting them going forward.

My Chocolate Lab had a bad case of skin allergies which turned into mange. I was referred here by my primary vet and the experience was great as it could be. After the process and following the Dr orders I am proud to say my lab is 100 percent cured. They did a great job with my boy and I would recommend this vet to anyone with dermatology issues.

My 12 year old Shih Tzu was diagnosed with Cushings Disease in December and after feeling all her needs were not being met by the regular vet I sought a referral. I am so incredibly happy I did. The ENTIRE STAFF at AVS has been exceptional and my baby, Lillie Grace, is showing so much improvement I am astonishingly amazed. Her spunk and personality are returning and her 80% hairloss is reversing. I am ecstatic. They are thorough and share their findings and approaches and solicit the owners feelings and participation in the care plan. I thank God for this wonderful place and caring staff. Thank You AVS!!!

I could not be more pleased with AVS. From the moment I first walked in the door, I admired the lovely animal art on the walls and the cleanliness of the facility. The complimentary coffee or tea and snacks as well as the calming (and silent) video of a beach on a big screen in the waiting area are lovely touches.
Elizabeth at the front desk is friendly and attentive. Julie, who brought me into the examining room to develop Molly's "chart" and who, after Molly's surgery, carefully explained the discharge instructions and who followed up with phone calls, could not be nicer or more professional.
I am impressed with Dr. Born's credentials and her warmth, kindness and skill. I very much appreciate that after the surgery, she made herself available by phone, text and e-mail for my questions and concerns. I would not think of going anywhere else for the expert and caring services AVS provides. I recommend them highly.response / report this review -

I had a wonderful experience with this practice! Everyone, including Dr. Kayla Born, Julie and the front desk staff, Elizabeth, was extremely attentive. They have great attention to detail with communication and follow up. Everyone was knowledgeable, kind and caring. Definitely a high level of professionalism and our dog healed beautifully. We have 3 dogs and if one of our dogs needs surgery again, this will be our practice of choice. Great job Atlanta Veterinary Specialists!-Very Happy!!!

My Munchkin was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism in Dec. We tried the medicine first and it was a big mistake. She was sick with vomiting and dehydration and additional trips to vet along with the worry and concern for her. After this I decided to do the radioactive procedure. I chose Atlanta Veterinary Specialist because of their reputation and they were my vets first choice. I was very apprehensive about leaving my cat as she gets stressed out easily not to mention my anxiety. However after meeting the Dr. and Ken I knew this was the place to be. They call you everyday with an update and send daily pictures to reassure you. She even had Ken holding the bowl so she would eat her tuna since she wasn't eating her regular food. You can call anytime and will be updated with a cheerful response. Being separated was hard but Atlanta Veterinary Specialist made the situation much easier and my cat won't have to take daily medication. Thanks AVS
